    I’m looking to buy some of these waders I am 5’9” size 11 shoe and around 215-220lbs in ur opinion would you go with a XL 11? I just don’t want to to get a L and bundle up and be too tight.

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable 9 месяцев назад

      How often do you bundle up? Sounds like you are right on the line between L & XL. Going L would be a bit tight if you bundle a lot (you can always bundle outside the waders if you don’t mind taking off layers to walk out) but may be a bit more comfy without the extra fabric. Personally I would go with the XL. A wise man once told me the chances of us getting thinner is slim. 😅😭 Planning for the long haul and don’t want to start exercising just to fit some clothing. Also I’ve found the extra fabric from a larger size not that big of an inconvenience. Let me know where you end up!

    We call them nuisance deer here in New Brunswick Canada. I really enjoy helping reduce the numbers in areas that the population has exploded. Hate seeing them being killed by cars. Not sure if this program is actually working or not as there are so many deer around it’s hard to even put a dent in the numbers.

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      Absolutely, it helps all sorts of damage from vehicles to landscaping to crops, etc. It also helps overall herd health in areas with less food. There is only so much to go around and by reducing the mouths to feed there is more to go around producing healthier deer with less disease. Keep promoting this type of hunting!

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      That’s a killer gift!! Waders are tough.. personally mine ended up a touch on the baggy side, allowing me room to grow and layer a bunch. I’m not going to be doing a ton of running around in them so don’t mind the extra fabric. Especially if I’m going to bulk up at some point and run out of space and make them too tight. The large will absolutely take away some of that bulk, but will it be too firm fitting is only something you will know. It’s not ideal but you can’t find a store to try them on, you can buy the L and return the one you don’t want. Sitka is awesome on returns, you are just out the shipping, which isn’t fun on a set of waders but the peace of mind in size is worth it to me. Good luck!!

    @CordyteActual Год назад

    Not happy with the way Sitka is handling the returns for these waders. I tried on a pair and found the boots to be way too big. I thought maybe it could work and walked around my office for a while only to realize that no, if I am paying this much for waders they need to be close to perfect. The fit and finish was perfect, love the waders themselves, but without any local outlet I was forced to pay 80 bucks to return these things. I am hesitant to pull the trigger on the right size now since I didn't feel like they are being helpful

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      Is the $80 a restocking fee or just to ship? The shipping fee to send them back does sting a little bit if you aren't able to try one one in person at a shop. No one had them when I ordered my first pair so I guessed and you saw the results.. With that kind of purchase its worth it in my opinion. They didn't ask any questions when I sent them back and didn't charge me anything to swap them for another pair.

    • @CordyteActual
      @CordyteActual Год назад

      @@FromFieldtoTable Just shipping, they didn't have a restocking fee. Talked to them to see if I could just pay them for the shipping label, no. Then I tried to see if they could send me the size I wanted once they receive and check out my last pair and the answer was no. I just felt like it was so impersonal, and I am in customer service so I might have higher standards, but I wasn't asking for any special treatment necessarily.

    Ok, so, my finger is on the trigger for these waders, I’m just slightly hesitant on the sizing. This video was super helpful, but I’m still on the fence lol! So, I’m 6.1, 195, 10.5 shoe, 34 waist, 44 chest, 33-34 inseam, and wear all large in Sitka. Leaning toward the Large Tall, BUT, when I see the XLT on you, giving more room for one more late season layer! I’m up in Ontario Canada, love hunting cold temps, breaking thru ice! Cheers!

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      Thanks Rob! A wise friend of mine mentioned in conversation one day ‘the odds of you getting smaller as time goes on is very slim’. Not fun to hear but words of truth. Buying a bit bigger is not a bad thing! Especially with a large purchase like this that you want to last as long as possible. Our sizes are spot on identical, outside of the waist.. With your inseam & chest I would go with the XLT. May be a bit of extra fabric around your middle but the chest & crotch will be way more comfortable. Especially when you kneel down & add a layer or 2. Definitely swappable if size doesn’t quite fit right and no shops around you have them in stock but I’ve heard shipping is nuts over the boarder.. keep me posted!

    • @Harmons_Rd
      @Harmons_Rd Год назад

      So, you’re saying there’s a slim chance I’ll stay slim?! LOL As far as the boot, I’m a 10.5, you mentioned they fit a half size larger, now my dilemma is boot size lol. Also, do you mostly wear Large tops? Luckily my dad lives in Alabama, so I ship to him!

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      Ha! Maintaining is easier than loosing. Unfortunately I’m in the wanting to loose category.. Your boot size is tricky, I ordered my boot size. My old waders were a size too big and walking any sort of distance was uncomfortable with my feet slipping around inside. I guess it’s a toss up for you on wether you want more comfortable hiking or more room for insulation.

    Hey man, so I’m dealing with a very similar dilemma. I have a full season on a pair of regular large and I definitely feel you on how they get real snug from the inseam to the knees when squatting or even sitting in the boat. I need to get into a tall this year but I also have a large currently. It’s a snugger fit which I don’t mind, I hate baggy materials especially when shouldering a gun. My question is about the XL compared the L upper. Is it a dramatic difference? I currently will use 2 layers or so under and have my heavier duck oven/delta jacket if need be over the waders. It would be nice to be comfortable in full layers under but I don’t want them to be too bulky or baggy and am hesitant to go up to an XL. I should try to go try some on, but hard to find them locally. Anyhow, what’s your take on the L to XL difference. I’m 6’2” 36” waist and roughly 235 at the moment just for a reference.

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable 2 года назад

      Hey Jeremy, we are basically identical in size. The XL is definitely baggier but doesn’t feel too baggy in my opinion. If you plan to throw on a hoodie under the wader it will fill out nicely and comfortably. The belt helps a lot with the extra fabric if you are not layering up. I feel like the chest difference in L to XL on the Hudson bib was more drastic, so if you have some of those around you to try on it may give you an idea.

    • @TrophyMediaCo
      @TrophyMediaCo Год назад

      @@ESHARDY08 so I ended up going with the XLT and I’m happy with them. I got about 20 or so lbs on you and I mainly went that route due to layering. In Wisconsin here we typically see single digits to wrap up our season and with the L in the past I couldn’t layer a ton and be comfortable without feeling very restricted and couldn’t sit without feeling like my wader legs were about to burst at the seems so I also went with the talls so I got the extra room to sit. Definitely got room to work with early season but I don’t feel like I’m drowning in them by any means. My only regret it think is not going with the timber pattern for when we go down south but maybe I’ll swap them if it comes to it down the road.

    • @FromFieldtoTable
      @FromFieldtoTable Год назад

      @@ESHARDY08 Thats a tough call.. Until you feel comfortable purchasing a smaller pair for early season and a larger pair for late season bundling I would say rock the size the suits the temps you hunt in the most. I would personally prefer a bit baggier in the early season for full range of motion/comfort in late with the layers. The size difference (if memory serves) between LT & XLT is drastic, but not as bad as the size difference in the Hudson bibs. With the belt and the suspenders you are able to tuck some of the extra fabric in your back pretty easily.

      Hey Maxwell, I’m typically in 11’s and I bought 11 wader boots. Sitka said the boots run 1/2 size large and the length feels great! I do have wider feet and the width is a pinch tight but Sitka said they would relax a bit with use. I tried on some 12’s and the play heel to toe just felt too much. My current neoprene‘s are a bit too big heel to toe and would prefer not to deal with that any longer. I don’t think the tiny bit of width the 12s gave me were worth the hiking comfort of good length.

      Thanks! Hunting frogs is totally worth it! The hunt is super fun and frog legs are incredible. Think of a chicken/fish hybrid. The kayak lights are awesome for getting from point A to point B but don’t work so well for actually gigging frogs. Would be nice to have a rig that connected to the side of the kayak that I could aim easier. The headlamp seems to cast too many shadows and I think that spooked the frogs as much as anything else.

    Buy a xl shoppell jetsled. And tie to kayak. As long as you balance what you got in it it'll be a game changer. I load mine up w 4 dozen duck deeks all w 8oz weights. 3 mojos 3 Higdon xs pulsators. 2 stools and 2 blind bags and 2 shotties. When my dog was a pup and also put her on top to keep her dry longer as we were getting to the spot 4 hrs before shooting light. Best 70$ I've spent for killin waterfowl. Even bought 2 of them and I tie them together so I can take a crap load of deeks out even if im solo hunting as most my spots are typically 100yrds or so till I hit water and they'll float. If there's snow on the ground they glide effortlessly. Soupy mud or sand is a nightmare times 10 so be weary of that.
