I just love it this video, but I can’t find it a reason for the primes if most of the pictures are taken in the day where you have enough light to deal with a slower aperture. Do you really think that you were losing that much off sharpness from having a zoom lens like the super sharp tamron 28-75 2.8? I don’t think I would love to hear your comments in a more technical view from this matter

What do you like about the 40 over just using a 35?

You far from failed Scott you nailed it. You have had some incredible journeys this year, and I have enjoyed following you on these. Just like you I was travelling in Japan 2 years ago, and we stopped by the side of the road as a fox came out. It had some young cubs so we fed it some dried pork. We were in the mountains during the summer. I feel your pain as I to have the same challenges. I make lots of content spread across multiple drives and havent gotten into the RUclips grind. My channel is stagnant as I only post occasionally. Like you, I set myself a challenge to get my website up and running, and its close to publishing. Anyway cant wait to see where you go this year. If you ever swing by Shanghai again dm as this is home for me.

I have been to Miyajima a couple of times, back in the 80's when I was in the Marine Corps and stationed in Japan. Very cool to see it from todays perspective (I know, you did this a year ago). So much is still the same... and yet so much has changed. I wish I was more than just a Marine who was a total newbie novice photo bug back then, as compared to what my Photography is today. I think about ALL of the missed opportunities to shoot while I was there back then. Thanks for uploading, was a nice little travel back in time for a now, old, Marine. LOL :) P.S., Seeing all the deer still around made me smile!

Thanks for visiting my city. The scenery is familiar to me, but when you capture it, it makes for a great picture. I'll try to photograph my neighborhood once in a while.

Been shooting Canon for decades for events and art and needed something easier and smaller. Just got my a7cii with the 40mm prime as I don't need 60 megs for storage or processing. Looking forward to using it for street, travel and prosumer casual. Was in Japan 30 years ago and LOVE shooting all over, all day up and down the island. So much for my Western eyes and brain to take in that seem novel and interesting. Great video Scott. Subscribed asap and looking forward to more videos from you.
