So I take it that if I´m using an IPS monitor in a well lit room plus having the brightness of the screen set to low, there should be no problem with the glow?

Looking great graphics wise but the car physics still need a lot of work, looks really weird how they move around. The city looks great though, very nice lighting and atmosphere. Very interesting!

Wow... This video and the OLED right next to the ips makes ips look TERRIBLE 😂..... I use a ips as my 2nd monitor and it never looks this bad next to my main, but they never have the same picture displayed so it's impossible to tell

A proper Test would be 1) Ambient light 2) full screen bright content.... U did the one next time choose a brighter demo with Lakes Bright Sky etch etch.... Not only Dark background that OLed can do better

Funny thing is, my VA panel looks more like the OLED. IPS is just awful.

HDR on windows is horrible. HDR in windows in an IPS or VA panel it’s the worst.

I've made some test photos and I've noticed cameras exaggerate backlight bleed and IPS glow. It probably doesn't look quite as bad in real life.

You have the brightness all the way up on the ips..lower it and it won’t look as bad bud

I would never have an ips on 100% brightness. 30% at most. Unfair comparison since the oled is dim as it is.

And how does it look with normal non HDR content?

How can I tolerate IPS monitor for so long? IPS looks so bad it’s made me mad that even CRT monitor like Sony FW900 looks better than any LCD monitor. I got an OLED monitor not too long ago I will not go back to LCD ever again

I have the OLED G8 and an Omen 27i which has an LG IPS display right next to it. In everyday use it's hard to really spot the difference.

... and people are moaning about the risk of burn in... I´m moaning since years for the nightmarish black-levels of everything since plasma. 27 inch OLED is at my pc. 65 inch OLED in the living room. And 49 inch (hopefully) at BF for my sim rig.

the problem is its only these certain type of videos with all the black etc... normal videos are fine

just wondering if they are in extended mode because its baffling why the IPS is faster to display new pictures

I have the 27gp850p-b but for some reason i cant enable HDR in windows (11)... It just shows that the monitor supports SDR... How can i enable it?

well the oled cost twice as much

the brightness of the GP850 is much too high... I have it set to around 21 and then have much better black levels than in this video. I think the screens should have the right settings before you make such a video. because this way every screen looks better next to the GP850....

nice comparison but that ips panel is garbage.i have the tcl 55p610 tv and really dont know if the extra 1000€ worth for the lg c2.last year i sold my v2 switch to buy the oled and the difference was huge.but for my tv i dont know,that tcl has a quality panel.

I just bought the LG OLED. It's night and day vs the LG Nano IPS that I previously had.

If that's the 2023 model of 27GP850 then.... yikes! What is up with the IPS glow lol...

OLED is the best you can get. There's no comparison. But your IPS looks horrible. I've had plenty of IPS displays and none look as bad as yours.
