This was a catch and release since the fish were not big enough,The waves change very quickly. I can only fish for a couple of hours. My goal was to get some snapper and kingfish.

When I did a 12 hour snapper trip it was like that because the fish would get off before coming aboard, and there were so many being caught that people just released them without the knowledge. It stinks but unfortunately not every fish gets paired on party boats

Rey Garza hello, on the trips that I have gone I have not seen anyone trolling, only blackfin tuna were captured I recommend that you carry 3,6.8 oz templates that you can with leader of 80 pounds onwards and if you are going to take your own equipment make sure the reels have 30 or more pounds of Drag

Why are they fishing deep where they will catch red snapper which they can't keep I bet about 1/2 will die
The 12-hour trip is a snapper trip. I guess you can only keep 2. If you watch the deckhand he is cutting the air sack so the fish won't die. Having said that, the last time I went there was a trail of floaters behind the boat that was too small to keep TDFW will fine your ass of for keeping the wrong Red Snapper. Seems like a waste.
