Hello viewer! Welcome to Muckin around in the tropics where I do some fishing, some fixing and a whole lot of sweating. Cairns Queensland is a great place to live but why did it need to be so hot!!!
Ford ED Falcon - replacing speed sensor gear - correct your speedo!!
Hey guys, here's a clip I made up for replacing the speed sensor gear on your falcon to correct the speedo (if it's out....).. This can come in handy if you're changing wheel size and will make your odometer more accurate as well.

If your air-conditioner is starting to drip inside it is most likely a blockage in the outlet pipe. If you've got a vacuum cleaner and some tape there's a good chance you can fix that sucker in no time....
Underwater video: Coral Trout and Red Emperor in 60 metres off Cairns (episode 1)
Просмотров 20 тыс.Месяц назад
Here's a clip from fishing in 60 metres of water off Cairns. For this I made a rig for an old gopro with waterproof housing. This was using an electric reel and it's interesting to watch the shark follow the fish up but not hit it. There's no point trying to outrun the sharks but in this case I think he was just a bit small and lacked confidence to hit the Red.
Penn International Drag repair - replacing Belleville washers to get your drag back!

One of my Penn Internationals lately lost all drag and it ended up being worn and rusted Belleville washers. It's an easy fix (once you get the washers). Here's a little walkthrough anyway.

Did this on my EF Fairmont, annoying job!
cheers man yeah not wrong!
@fishybusiness73 more sprint vids!
From the peaceful time of the birds singing, suddenly the adrenaline kicks in with the bite. It's the best moment.
I thought that only Hemingway could catch that kind of fish^^
I couldn't catch the GT I was after, no matter how many times I threw the popper from the jetty at Palm Cove. It's a fish I've always wanted to catch. I want to go fishing with you again!
@kheperer no problem mate next time you're in town we'll catch some!!

@@FishingWithKeidra awesome thanks, would love to get over there one day!!!
I had to get the same thing repaired on an EA I had many years ago - I took it to an instrument repair place and they told me the failure is often caused by pressing the tripmeter reset whilst driving, as opposed to pressing it whilst stationary. Interesting to know.
@GavwasInn yes mate I believe that is the cause, plus the gears getting brittle with age. Mine's working well now
As a mechanic. First thing, should not have done it after driving. Second, should of taken the fill plug most of the way out first, always make sure the fill is undone before the drain. Im sure you know why. Third, easy on the drain and fill bolt mate or you are gonna be getting a new diff. No need to wrench that hard. Do it up lightly until it stops and give it quarter of a turn, plenty. Fourth, You fill the diff until it is level with the bottom of the fill hole. Just let it trickle out slightly. Hope this helps. Oh, and you clothes are rags now!
cheers man yeah I did take it for a drive to warm up before starting. Those other points make perfect sense, I'm obviously no mechanic but like mucking around with this sort of stuff. I wasn't sure how much pressure to put on the drain bolt doing it up - it was pretty loose when I undid it - like almost finger lose which probably accounts for the oily grime on the back of the diff - I just didnt want it coming loose again - another guy mentioned blue loctite which no doubt is a good idea... Yeah probably the only thing I did right was to use old clothes for the job. Straight in the bin!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to give constructive advice, cheers!
@@fishybusiness73 No worries mate. Blue lock tight on the any fill or drain bolts is not needed. Do everything up as hard as you can with just your wrist holding the top of the ratchet. Then quarter turn, should not come undone. Trust me, i learnt the hard way!!
@@-CHeWy- awesome mate thanks for that. Never get sick of learning those subtle tricks
Damn, looked like fun!
Haha yeah I suppose it was looking back!
Beautiful car mate!
@efxr6538 thanks mate yeah it's a love/hate relationship but I wouldn't have it any other way
@@fishybusiness73 Haha, I know what you mean! What state are you from?
@@efxr6538 up in Cairns mate, bloody hot
haha smooth. shows what a bit of heat will do
yeah needed a couple of goes on the shampoo after that!!!
I take the filler bung off first then drain it for that reason🤷🏼whether it makes any difference or not is up for speculation but never had it come out like that lol
haha yeah for sure, lesson learnt there. I do tend to often learn the hard way though
@ its the only way to learn hope you chucked a dot of blue loctite round the drain bolt i learnt the hard way after replacing rear wheel bearings shot out of town to help a mate 500km round trip and the bung unwound itself and roasted the bearings force of habit for me now lol
@@Sohc6 mate I didn't but I'm glad you mentioned that because the drain bung wasn't in real tight to start with. I'll back it out a little and squeeze some loctite in there when I get a chance.
@@fishybusiness73 ah its all about sharing experiences etc one mans pain is anothers knowledge
What was the bait? Stood up to a lot of punishment from the pickers!!
@robinaboy bait was slabs of fresh trevally. Generally fresh fish will hold together a lot better than frozen
Looks awesome mate
Fishing in a dinghy at Port Douglas about 50 years ago was the most amazing experience, caugt something with every cast, grandfather not happy cause he had to fillet them.
@@Jack-r2v9bawesome yeah there's still that sort of fishing around here if you time it right
@fishybusiness73 really? I haven't been back for nearly 50 years, he went fishing one day and never made it home, boat flipped and he hung on with his buddy for about 8 hours then just let go,he must of had a heart attack, his mate got rescued,a friend said his picture is in a pub with the 932lb marlin he caught but I can't remember the name of the pub
Great footage Terrific job love seeing what’s down there ❤
thanks mate I'll be doing some more footage in the future
Mint footage, thank you 👍

Can see the size limit on coral trout works
@@tom__mac couple of decent ones down there that's for sure!
That shark wanted a piece as well 😄
@MilesDeep3r yeah I reckon he wanted some but was maybe just a little small to make the first move. Maybe he was just confused at how quickly the fish was headed to the surface. It's an interesting insight into shark behaviour anyway!
I just did this last week, I thought about a bottle jack but did not have one. I used a crow bar as my leaver , curved portion rotated on a brick clamp vise grips on the stake so the crow bar end could push up against. It was awful work but got it done. Stake was through the middle of my pomegranate tree root system and had very little room to work with.
awesome mate that would have been tough work. The old vice grips must have done well to hang on
Big Fish you have there..

Thank you. A very helpful video ...But with Res-Q-Steel Anti-Corrosion Paste, it's non-drying, so when the brake pad get very hot up is will just melt and run off.... If only we could buy Stainless Steel Pads, because much of that corrosion (that settles around the piston) is coming from the rusting pads. So I'm going to try to insert a Stainless Steel Shim (SS foil) to keep the rust partials away from the Piston Seal.... And I just found out that "NORMFEST Galva 97 Silver" Galvanised Spray paint provides resistance to temperatures of up to +500°C.
cheers mate thanks for the feedback. I believe Res-Q-Steel has been beneficial for me and has made the backing plates last longer but I'll have to monitor whether it is running off as you describe. Regarding stainless brake pads, they are available (I'm in Australia and most auto parts shops stock them) however they cost approximately double the price of standard pads. Not exceptionally expensive but I haven't tried them. thanks again for the feedback.
Hope she doesn’t get one that falls off around her feet! Yeowwww!

Nice Job Sir....I have the components from a crashed Umx Timber and was thinking of converting my Cub Sport S or Hobbyzone T-28s to 2s. Take all the Baby Timber guts transfer them to either one. Was leaning more towards the T-28. My concern is the battery placement on the Trojan? Its a vert light and flimsy little bird as it is. Adding the extra weight of the 2s battery and components hows that gonna effect the performance CG and flight characteristics? Looks like your Bird is flying great....Id really like to see a step by step build? Thanks for the video Sir amd Happy Flying from western Pa.
