Rafael Mendez The World's Most Versatile Full Album
He needs a new clef for all those ledger lines he’s playing above the staff.
I got to see him as a kid when he played a show with the band my dad was in... beaver bop cats i believe or it was trinity jazz i cant quite remember .... but it was awesome to see such a legend
que buen culo tenia
That was fantastic.
И где контробас?
that right there the ending.....he ain't got it no more. I get one gets old, but that little peep at the end, proves he should've retired years ago before his death
One thing that was always for certain at an MF show…he would leave it all out on the stage!!
Frank Abrahamson trumpet 🎺 section
I can't tell whether he looks more like Donald Trump or Jackie Gleason.
Tenor player might be Jeff Rupert
Alto player is Mike Dubaniewicz.
Very high and technical - but an ugly tone. And musical? No, not really; an un-oiled hinge of one of the doors in my house makes exactly the same noise. Give me Bix or Louis any day.
Personnel?
I love him he lives 4eva

Adolfo is nails on lead trumpet!
This reminds me a lot of his version of Dayride from Chick Corea.
I'm just here for the drummer, absolutely crisp!!
Maynard was great and gave a lot of young people their start - Plus he was such a nice person, I saw him many times in concert and met him with my kids. He couldn’t have been nicer explaining technique to my son - a great guy that is missed. 🙏👏
2:09
Meh
1:05 Does anyone know the name of this sax player?
What a fantastic and dynamic leader and showman he was.
I was lucky to have seen Maynard in concert 5 times, did trumpet clinic and had lunch with him! Incredible talent!
world is No.1 too bravo‼︎
音が何かよれってる。もう少し痩せた方が良いよな。 エリック氏の方が遥かにレベルが高い。 高音出し終わった後のリアクション、笑っちゃう😂
This dude was a cat way back then
Нет слов!!!! БРАВО!!!
Got earplugs?
If you think you need earplugs with Maynard, go see a live performance from "Here Come The Mummies!" You can see them on RUclips, the Bob N Tom show.
@@keithchrysler3732 I wouldn't see a ferguson live performance for free.
Jerk..
Trust me. He was a mere mortal. I know because I was in the same room with him at one of the clinics he would offer for free when he was in town. He spoke to ME. Listened to ME. Maynard oh my Lord Ferguson. The most inspirational afternoon of my life. Yes...there will never be anyone like him. Thanks for posting.
I did trumpet clinic in '75 and I get what you're saying.
I don't think it's all that good actually. Sure, high notes and very technical but a good tone? No. Musical? No, not really. Give me Bix any day.
@@Gennettor-nc8kxi think his tone is quite fitting tbh. sure he’s overblowing but he’s doing so on purpose as part of the loud in your face style theyre going for. you also dont give those high notes enough credit, incredible tone for how high they are. although i totally agree with you on rocky: he could have been far more stylistic and light and obviously not so showy with his range. i guess my point is that hes a pretty good trumpet player
Yeah. But the difference in me and you is you were in one of his clinics. Very good. I played with HIM in the 80s
First glimpse at the thumbnail, and I thought that was Dusty Rhodes!!!!
Good stuff, Maynard
Don't bust a vessel dude. Trying to hit the highest note possible isn't what music is about. Love man.
That’s what he does , duh !
Loved Him!!!!
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to make a move about my life, but if they ever do by mistake, 98% of the soundtrack will Maynard’s stuff.
I think this is the personnel list: Maynard Ferguson (Trumpet, Flugelhorn, and Valve Trombone) Martin Drover (Trumpet) Ernie Garside (Trumpet) Hank Show (Trumpet) Wally Aldred (Trombone) Phil Keepwhiteman (Trombone) Gary Cox (Alto Saxophone) Danny Moss (Tenor Saxophone) Brian Smith (Tenor Saxophone) Bob Watson (Baritone Saxophone) Pete Jackson (Piano) Kenny Knapper (Bass) Bob Gillespie (Drums)
Fantastic and iconic contemporary Big Band.
A pioneer for modern big band - an inspiration to all aspiring lead trumpet players. The style might be sour for modern standards, but MF will forever be a legend and a motivation for all up coming trumpeters
The whole band are great players there's only one way you get there practice practice 😊
Wow! That tenor sax solo!
fr i loved it
Poor guy looks like he's going to burst an artery.
Viejo payaso 🤦🏻♂️🥱😪
did anyone recognize aldolfo costa of Tower of Power in he trumpet section?
Jeff Rupert if you read this you burned everybody's butt with that awesome tenor solo. Love ya man.

Stars🎉🎉🎉🚀👑🥂
Beyond Beautiful, colossal and historical. Rest peacefully MF..your immense talent enriched the world 🌎 forever. Most respectfully, Vaughn Nark..🎺
Tasteful and singing use of high notes, not just playing up there for the sake of it.
Wow, a name from the past! We all remember when you hit the halls of Susquehanna University in the '70's and enjoyed hearing you practice while we were sitting in a boring music class. I knew you were in the Airmen of Note and I see you are still in the DC area. Well, I'm glad you had a successful career! I used this tune in my college classes, taken from his Ballads album. First time I've seen the video. It's a great example of "Range" but of course, this exemplifies his finesse and sheer power. I was a fan and got to see him play a number of times over the years..... Rick
Great !!!! Got so many of his records !!! Am I crazy, but the middle top row trumpet player sure looks like the guy playing with Tower of Power ???
It is the guy who plays with Tower of Power, Adolfo Acosta.
@@johnfuller8284 Thanks ! Was not sure !!
Maynard at Concerts would but the echo on and say his name because it sounded cooler than Maynard Ferguson He was right before Patrick Hession
What a dang showman. The energy he leads with on this is awesome.
