Just two brothers bass fishing
Sometimes you have to change locations. River X and Grapevine lake. | Oldtown Sportsman PDL 120
We started at river X, but the water had zero visibility and tons of trash from recent rains. We decided to pack up the yaks and head to Grapevine lake with hopes of salvaging the day. At least we were not skunked at either location. Really love fishing out of these Oldtown Sportsman PDL's. Give us a like and leave a comment. We love hearing from you guys and gals!

Decent day catching bass! Let's see what these seat risers are all about? - Eagle Mountain
Просмотров 246Год назад
Eagle Mountain. First of all we caught fish! We love our Oldtown PDL 120, but the seat position is less than desirable. Decided to make a fancy seat riser out of 2x4's to see if we like them. At first we were not sure, but after a few trips they really seem to help. Rather than sitting like you are in a rocket ship you sit more level taking some pressure off your lower back. Can really feel a s...

One of our favorite lakes to fish. Hit some of the same spots, but later got some nice fish off the docks. Great day on the water. Love these Oldtown sportsman PDL's. Thanks for watching!

What a crazy unexpected day on the water! Not a real good day for one of us, but we still managed to catch fish. Scared me to death! Hey, we saved a crank bait. Eagle Mountain Lake

Lake Arlington bass fishing in Oldtown kayaks. Water was up at least 6 foot so the fishing was a little different.
Great day bass fishing! - Oldtown PDL Kayaks - WEST FORK

Only our second time fishing the Trinity from our Kayaks. Fun day with some interesting situations. Kayak prop got tangled in fishing line, but Oldtown makes it easy to remove the prop for those exact situations. I need to by the float prop nut or one day we may be stuck up the creek with a paddle. Caught lots of bass so that counts as a great day!
Kayak Bass Fishing - Crazy low water! Making the best of it.

Texas summers are hard on our lakes. Eagle Mountain Lake was extremally low. We made the best of it and actually caught a few.
Kayak Fishing the Trinity River - Its all new to us, but we caught fish!

We have fished the Trinity river many times from the bank. This is the first time fishing from the kayaks. Awesome place for Kayak fishing. Cant wait to go back.

We typical do pretty good at this lake, but earlier this year has been pretty rough. Winter fishing was bad, but this time it worked out well for the both of us. Found them on rocks and reeds. Texas Rig, Lipless and blades!
Only counts if you use a different lure. Crazy ending.

Kayak fishing Texas river. One of our favorite spots to fish. Challenge was to catch a fish on different bait. Caught some good bass and had a surprise at the end. Enjoy!
Hiding from the wind. Almost didn't try, but glad we did!

The forecast called for 10 - 15 mph winds. Got to the water and it was white caping with probably 25 - 30 mph winds. Found some pretty good bass in a very small section of the lake. Lake Grapevine

Eagle Mountain Lake, Fort Worth - Cold Water Fishing
Super nice
Ive heard the clear fork is nice . Im SE of Dallas where the east fork is nasty.
Yup thats a good day for that lake.. im out there every couple days after work. Northern creeks are super skinny but good spot to hang out
looks like las colinas
Y’all are fishing right down the street from my house a fish that section of river a bunch. I know several RUclipsrs that fish in that area that I’ve given tackle suggestions to. Good place to catch plenty of fish in the 15 to 17 inch range. Glad to see someone utilizing that area besides me enjoyed the video.
Let’s set up a fishing day yall and me and my father in law I think we could kill joe pool as a team
We wish, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to get on the water in quite some time. Really hope to be back soon.
@@k2fishing525 man wish y’all the best and hope y’all get back out soon rn we are in florida fishing off Pensacola
Would u be willing to say where river X is
Trinity River Basin
Don't think you mentioned, but what kind of Buzzbait were ya'll using?
Strike King from Academy. Come with a couple of toads.
Never been out that far west to eagle mountain I’m usually at ray Hubbard or lake Lavon also joe pool was active but the body of water is small
Joe Pool always fishes real though it seems like. Do good there when it floods, but that’s maybe once every 100 years, lol.
I hear you I go once or twice a year. If I throw live bait in joe pool i never know what I while catch everything seems to hit on shad out there except the crappie I need a smaller bait or jig.
Heading up to dallas next week for work, time to pack my pole!
They are waiting for you man!
My dad lives in Frisco. Think I might need to bring my kayak next time we come up there.
For sure! Lots of water around these parts. It can get a little warm in the afternoons, lol.
I hit the 50 subscriber for ya 🤪. Taking my son 13 to kayak fishing there next week. Thanks for showing the baits used. We are newbie fishermen. We go out without a clue most times.
The key is being persistent, but we are obviously particularly fond of Texas rig. Throw those T-rigs and you guys will get some. Good luck and love seeing father and son fishing. Good luck and go get’em!
@@k2fishing525 mother nd son 😜
@@Kayakmom9 sorry I missed that and it’s right there in the name, lol. Mother and son even better! You guys will rock it.
What part of Trinity, the part next to where I live is nasty
Just came across y’all’s channel. Good to see local guys fishing.
Thanks Mattthewhola!
Looked like a fun day out! I just bought my first kayaks and planning to make a trip down the Trinity soon. Great info. Thanks!
Wise choice in our opinion. We love our kayaks and we are sure you are going to love it as well. Good luck and hope you wear'em out! Let us know how it goes.
Nice video
Thanks Elserg!
I’m gonna have to pick me up some Bandito Bugs…what oz wt are y’all throwing on it?
Usually 1/8 oz unless it’s crazy windy. We don’t really fish deep so works good for us. Bandito is a great bait but man they tear up really fast.
Its amazing the difference felt with just 2 or 3 inches of seat elevation. I tried a 3” boat cushion/throwable on my kayak seat and did not care for how tippy it felt, and I have a very stable kayak. “I see you hiding behind that sofa”, cracked me up 😆.
Dang, it really is different for sure. Starting to really like it.
I think I ran into ya'll back in a cove a few months ago. Small world!
Hey David. We like getting out of the wind. Could have been us. Pretty cool man.
That bass jumping in was crazy, I imagine it did tighten that pucker string a little bit 😂. I guess even fish have those “hold my beer” moments 😏.
Ya, it’s counts! Anyway you can get’em.
Glad to see y’all back at it! Y’all crack me up 😂👍🏻👍🏻
Lol, Thanks Fly! Unfortunately it’s been more work than play, but hope we can start getting out more soon. Thank again!
Hungover roosters and big fat cats. The tucked beard is key. Great fishing. The ramps are often overlooked.
Haha, that rooster was a little late to the game. The beard cam has been remediated. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.
Man, I cannot wait till it is frog fishing season. I have come across a Karen or two. If I had been you I would have just dropped anchor and spent the morning there. lol I love that the two of you game at night together and then fish.
Frog fishing is easily our favorite way to catch bass. Any topwater catch is awesome, but there is something about frogs!
@@k2fishing525 Its because setting the hook that hard is so much fun.
Agree! Pause and then swing for the fence.
Lazy does go away pretty quick. I have never been lucky enough to get the two fish on one bait, though I don't throw cranks enough. Man, you are lucky you didn't fully dump the yak. Whenever I see a snake fishing or hiking I can't help but try and fail to grab it. lol
Can’t believe it either. First instinct was you must flee! Pretty much a stability test for the yak, lol!
Great job fellas!
Thanks Eloy! Might fish Arlington soon, but that place can be stingy, lol.
Hope you guys keep making videos. I’m in Fort Worth as well and love seeing you guys hit all the lakes around me. You guys motivated to get a kayak myself. Appreciate all the vids!
Thanks Travis! We will be putting out more videos starting in the Spring. Might be releasing some good ones form end of fall soon. Can’t thank you enough for watching!
Not a fan of Mr. No Shoulders either. 🚫🐍 I took a similar swim fly fishing on the Brazos and was amazed that the GoPro running on an external battery and the cellphone both survived with no issues. Enjoyed your adventure.
Mr. No shoulders. Love it.
Nice trip and catches in spite of murder hornets and gasper goos. 😄Enjoyed the video!
Damn dude good thing that canal is shallow right now. It’s gonna be a shame when all that juicy rip rap gets littered with docks.
Yeah. We know that day is coming, but until then…
I didn't get the notification 😭
Dang it!
Is this Eagle?
Yes it's Eagle Mountain
What marine is that?
Great video and some really nice Bass. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man. Appreciate the watch! It was a fun day.
What day was this? When I went there wasn’t squat in the canals. That was a nice couple dock fish too. I used to throw rage craws a lot.
Late September. Canals are good for a few usually, but docks are nice as well. Always very shallow around those docks.
@@k2fishing525 by the time I fished it in mid October you couldn’t of even kept your prop down on your kayaks to get back in there
@@clintonbruning yea its crazy low there now.
Loved the friendly banter between you too. Don't count if its not on a frog! LoL.
Haha thanks. Bend the rules a bit.
“…I did on Call of Duty.” 😂😂😂 Enjoyed the video as always 👍🏻
Thanks Fly!
Are those kayaks easy to turn over?
Not at all. I mean if you tried hard enough it’s possible. This is our first kayak so not able to compare to others. However, did tons of research before buying and the Oldtown PDL was supposed to be super stable. Stable was the #1 thing we were looking for. Awesome kayak.
Wow Scott! That was a big Bass! Great video y’all two. 👍🏻👍🏻
love catching any size, but when they creep up in the 4 + range it’s exciting. 😀
Damn y’all were right by my parents house. Looks like those frontal conditions helped you that day. I’ve never fished the canals very good and y’all killed em there. I caught my pb of 8.8 in august in the south end and I have a bunch of videos from eagle. Check mine out! ruclips.net/video/zHOVnBzX9Ec/видео.html
Wow! 8.8 will put a smile on your face for sure. Grats on the PB!
@@k2fishing525 if y’all ever see me out there in a little 12 foot vhull boat and a bass deck on it make sure to holler!
@@clintonbruning for sure! We are out there all the time. In fact, about to head that way. Going to try the west side this morning.
@@k2fishing525 good luck!
@@clintonbruning thanks man. It was a bit of a grind today.
“Like to’ve killed me!” 😂😂😂 Y’all crack me up. Great video!
“He must have hands and holding on to the bottom.” 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah that lake was crazy low. I took a buddy out there 8/19/22 and thankfully we had put in at Pelican Bay boat ramp, which is across the sandbar from where y’all launched. It wasn’t till I was going to show him Walnut Creek, that we discovered the sand bar had us blocked and the creek was dry. 😮
We checked it out on google maps. Knew it would be low, but not as bad as it was. Not sure when the water level will get back to full, but we will try it again. Went to Eagle today and wrecked ‘em.
@@k2fishing525 I’ll be looking forward to the video. 😉
😂 Chris feels like a barbarian holding his rod without his hand being on the reel.
Great experience guys!!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Lol. Snakes are not our friends. Venomous or not!
Awesome video! I love your editing, especially switching between cams when y’all reply to each other. I was laughing pretty hard when you tuck&rolled because of that snake 😂. I don’t care for them either and always 🙏🏻 for protection before I get on the water 😉, especially after my one close call 😳. Keep them vids coming 👍🏻👍🏻.
Great video and I loved the brotherly banter 😄. I’m a new subscriber that fishes the same local waters and look forward to watching your other videos 😉. If you ever see a big white guy fly fishing on a big red kayak, then it’s probably me 😂.
