🇦🇺This should never have happened. Not every pregnancy becomes a baby. There are so many things that can go wrong and only doctors 🥼 understand what treatment is best for their patient not a politician… these women should not have to tell their most personal and heartbreaking experience to a public hearing for something that is their right. America is heading for the dark ages.

as a young woman in georgia, i’m terrified. this was heartbreaking and i wish more people heard these stories.

Thank you for this hearing. How brutal. This makes me sick that these wonderful women had to go through this. I pray this hearing open up some eyes. The women that back this law should be greatly embarrassed, however no more than the men.

I am so livid, I want to destroy something to get rid of my anger. When my own fetus had died inside me two weeks before the ultrasound confirmed it, I was already getting sick from the dead tissue. The hospital where my doctor had privileges was Catholic, so after learning my fetus was dead, I had to, all alone, get in my car and drive to an abortion clinic to remove dead frigging tissue to avert sepsis. The process was so traumatic, and so unnecessary. I now believe I was luckier than my daughter and the women of her generation who suffer more unneccary trauma and uncertainty about insurance coverage and travel to a state that has reasonable abortion laws. The men who implemented this law are science illiterate. They have no pro-life beliefs, because 1. the fetus was dead; 2. delaying the medical procedure to evacuate the dead tissue is the same procedure as abortion live tissue, can result in permanent infertility; and 3. womens safety and healthcare is secondary, not of any value to my government officials. If the fetus still shows life, but no viability, it is cruel to give birth to a baby whose short life will be severely paingul, expensive and cruel. Damn it, these red state abortion laws must be changed. Lawsuits should be directed at the legislature who enacted these horrendous laws. A woman deserves to have autonomy and agency over their reproductive future and their safety and health concerns.

I work for a court and people are missing court dates because notices are being delayed. De Joy needs to be replaced.

why are these husbands so irresponsible? shouldn't they move their family out of state before they try for another child? why would anyone choose to become pregnant in an unsafe abortion ban state? cant you just give up your dream of a larger family, so that the family you do have will stay safe? why are married couples having sex in these states? seems irresponsible.

Why does anybody allow unregistered foreign agents to sit on the bench of the supreme Court, why does the Congress allow the Constitution to be trampled? The rights to one's own person is what they have disregarded and they appear as foreign agents in public service , foreign agents sitting on the bench, that have not registered.

Frankly speaking these MAGA laws can be contested for devaluation of equality. They are trying to say one persons life is more valuable then another’s, Just like they want Trump to have the status of a dictator, MAGA is wrong. They Are RINOs

Why are these MAGA not called to show receipts that their laws are Truly Lawful when a mother is unable to bring a life into the world. Why are they not being sued and brought before the supreme court for the negligence of the mother whose Life of equal value.

It is written that God breathe Life into the first man Adam, A man is Not a man until God breathe life into him or her. Why dies MAGA think they are on the right side of what God holds sacred. When it is apparent they are on the opposite side of Gods Will.

It's not safe to be pregnant in states with these bans.

It seems to me that if any women have died due to these laws (which I believe must have happened), the husbands/babies' fathers need to speak at these hearings too

Jesus Christ. Im so sorry to these women and to all women in Georgia. I have had 3 pregnancies. 2 miscarriages (which were devastating) and finally a successful pregnancy which resulted in my lovely son. I live in the UK so I have never had to worry about not getting appropriate care. Pregnancy and pregnancies that go wrong are hard enough - I am grateful that I live in a country where the decisions about my care were mine.

Heartbreaking

Oh, my god….what are we doing? Why are we allowing this to happen? The women who testified and the experienced physician demonstrate clearly why abortion must be legalized. It isn’t strictly about incest or rape. It is also a reality of being a woman who sometimes experiences tragedy while pregnant. In any circumstances is is not the business of politicians! From what I have witnessed over the several years, our politicians are not all that bright, or educated or intelligent. They often make a decision based on who is paying them off and bribing them. Recently, We have also witnessed law makers that are afraid to speak their mind to the very people that they serve with. Lastly, they blatantly ignore their responsibility to weigh out new laws and to create clear and fair guidelines for our citizens. Simply put, lawmakers are not the people that can be trusted to better clarify abortion but instead they continue to neglect, ignore and to torture women and their partners. Roe Vs. wade put the decisions in the hands of educated doctors and women who are facing the most difficult experience of their lives. This is humiliating and degrading to have to ask ‘permission’ for each woman. Republicans are seriously motivated to openly own, control and to impose their will on women. I guarantee you that this will not end well for you.

Now that all the OB/GYN doctors have left the state, I wanna know how you feel about that Georgia. Especially from the pregnant women who agree with the abortion ban! Do you think it was a good idea to live in a state with no doctors while pregnant or did you like the way things were before? Because it certainly looks like this ban is infringing on you as well. I want to remind you that pregnant women after 21 weeks are excited and anticipating a beautiful addition to their family, and they are angry and afraid that they will not have the medical treatment they need in case of an emergency.

I am profoundly grateful to these two women for speaking out on such a personal and intimate matter and to the senator for caring enough to make it possible. You had me shedding tears of empathy and anger, in equal measure. A goal of Project '25 is to make it a crime for women to travel from one state to another for abortion care. Further, we didn't hear from Ms. Amber Nicole Thurman at this hearing because, from a situation similar to both of these ladies, Ms. Thurman died. I hope that some MAGA/GOP lawmaker will explain to her 6 year old son why he had to lose his mom for the sake of their politics.

My granddaughter was forced to give birth to a non viable pregnancy. The baby was born, his head deformed, then got real swolen, before it went back down. He had violent seizures. He screamed in pain. He passed at 6.5 months of age. It has completely changed who my granddaughter is. She DID NOT have to go thru this. She should not have gone thru this. But we live in Texas. Same laws as Georgia.
