A very special Nightingale Judith was R.I.P.

Im 54 from USA never got to see them im so sad love them

I remember crying as a kid when I watched their final show on TV before they initially broke up. I loved Judith so much I couldn’t believe I’d never hear her sing again. Thankfully all those years later I got to see them in the flesh on their last UK tour. Wonderful memories!

I remember being devastated and in total shock when Judith went back to OZ with the group, and was certain they would quickly return. My 17-year-old heart broke to pieces. Loved Judith and her talent and could not stop listening to the group. Not a Beatles/Stones fan, I loved the Moody Blues and the Seekers.... still loyal to them today, have not changed.

I'm amazed that Judith had lung disease all her life and still had that gorgeous voice!

Judith has, had , a wonderful voice which was the essence of the Seekers. Their association with Tom Springfield was critical to their success. I'm old now and I see female singers wearing less than a bikini to get their song heard. Can you imagine the Seekers in bikinis? No neither can I. They had what todays audiences' would call the "x" factor. From a lifelong Beatles fan.

Two things they could have done, was electrify: No one really hears the bass, and Judith would have blown everyone away with a keyboard, rather than just swinging her arms.

Karen Carpenter had very similar issues as Judith Durham, but in her case it was even worse and the outcome more tragic.
