    Thanks for the intersting video. One question, is it possible to use electric shutter durng focus bracketting? And does using electric shutter make total time of focus bracketting shorter?

    • @lightsandtones
      @lightsandtones 4 часа назад

      Hi, Thanks for watching the video. Yes you can use the electronic shutter during focus bracketing. It's "kind of" making it shorter as you don't have to leave gaps between photos to wait until the shutter vibration calms down. You can select the "Minimum" option in the menu. Hope it helps.

    Nice video ! Funny thing is both these lenses are made by the same company in Japan (Cosina) so it's interesting to see the differences. I am enjoying my Loxia 21, 35 and 50 - biggest issue for me is the one you identified - mounting and removing the lenses, but it's worth the hassle for the joy of using them and image quality

    Can you use the mechanical shutter for focus bracketing? This will allow the use of flash.

    • @lightsandtones
      @lightsandtones Месяц назад

      Yes of course you can use it. I only switched to the electronic shutter to reduce the chance of vibration. If you want to use flash you have to leave enough time between the shots for the flash to recharge.

    I have the Zeiss Loxia Distagon 21mm T* which I got new open box for just under half the price, it is an excellent Lens, only downside is that the Lens Hood is not tight enough. Which Camera did you use (megapixels !), I use 60 megapixels Cameras, Lenses need to be very good for using with 60 Mp.

    • @lightsandtones
      @lightsandtones 3 месяца назад

      I'm using only a 24mp a7c. Yes you're right 60mp is very demanding. Fortunately the lenses are improving too. The recently released ones are much better than for example those from 5-10 years ago. Thanks for commenting. Regards,

      I agree. Especially the weaker ones are easy to replicate. In video it makes more sense as post-processing requires much more resources and probably time too.

    Beautiful landscape with bonus sheep! I bought the Tamron 20-40 to supplant my Tamron 17-28 as I always found that I wanted a bit more reach than 28 but also didn't want to keep changing lenses. Best workhorse lens is Tamron's 28-200 zoom.

    • @lightsandtones
      @lightsandtones 4 месяца назад

      I agree with what you said about the 28-200mm. I had it and loved it. I only sold it as I swapped to a 2-lens setup with the 17-50 and 50-400.

  • @jumpmansz

    Good comparison! Personally own the 20-40 so a little biased. Would love a little more reach than 40mm but for the size it’s perfect for an edc

    I have the Loxia 21 and the 35, and I love using both. Particularly these are both excellent at creating aperture stars at middle apertures without losing too much light by stopping to tiny apertures. I owned and then sold the Voigtlander 50mm f2 Apo-Lanthar. It was a nice handling and performing lens, but the lack of a gasket exposed my cameras to damage unless I taped over the lens mount when in use. Thus the Voigtlander never traveled with me. Lenses that stay at home are not of value to me.

    • @rphandler
      @rphandler 5 месяцев назад

      p.s. I also use the Think Tank Rotation 22, and it always travels with me, easily sliding under airline seats while my small roll bag is in the overhead bin.

      True, lenses staying home have no value. Thanks for taking the time to comment, really appreciated.

    Hi Marcell, That's a beautiful location you chose for this comparison. The shot at 15:06 looks wonderful. I believe you've made the right decision. I've read that this Voigtländer has poor midframe performance. Maybe if you get a chance, you could test out the Voigtländer 21mm F/1.4. I've read some say that it is better then the Loxia.

    I had the Loxia 21 and sold it like you when I acquired the Voigtlander 21. I missed the Loxia very much and repurchased the Loxia 21. I’ve decided to keep both as they both are great lenses that produce amazing results and each has their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe reconsider selling the Voigtlander? You might at times miss the small size and weight. Regardless I enjoyed your video!

      Thanks for the kind words. It's all about being outdoors in nature. We spend too much time indoors and in front of screen. No matter what you do or where you do in case your are out and about in nature. It has such a strong positive effect on our mental health and many people underestimate how much we need it in our busy daily life.
