Very thankful we got the opportunity to get away from crazy Cali. We decided to head out to Vegas and enjoy our FREE 3 night/4 days stay at the Elara by Hilton. We had so much fun, we decided to stay an extra day at the Marriott Chateau, which was right across the street. The cherry on top for this trip was seeing the Hoover Dam. THAT was a great experience for all of us...so amazing!! #LasVega...

First time cooking food in the Tongan traditional underground oven we call "Umu". We usually use lava rocks and river rocks to heat up the food, but I wanted to experiment using red bricks and lighter fluid to keep the fire from producing a lot of smoke in the air (thanks to a friend for the tip). Enjoy!

Samoan umu are above ground but the Tongan umu is underground for more volume.The Tonga umu is almost the same as the Maori Hangi except the type of food.Hangi and ours is base on the steam of produce from the rocks.The Samoan one is more direct radiant heat from the rocks ,that why they put the rocks on top of their food
