It would definitely be awesome for long range! But you'd have to be braver than me (not hard), I felt that if I crashed anywhere I'd struggle to find the little guy! Dad loved it. He was chatting away the whole time we were flying and afterwards had lots of technical questions. Might be a future fpv pilot! He could do the long range! Haha

The fpv feed is beautiful! I had to upgrade as I could not fly with the stock X220 camera. SOOooo glad I did! With the split 2 the view through the goggles is just like the view in the video but much lower resolution of course! Still the same bright colours and great FOV. The original X220 camera is awful :-) AndyRC has a good video about the split 2 and he shows the video settings to get the wide screen FOV.

Yeah! It is exactly that. So you are sort of saving money on an action camera while purchasing the most expensive fpv camera, haha. I do love the simplicity of it. When compared with an action camera, you don't need to remember to charge it, attach it to the quad and press record every time you want flight footage. Only need to remember to put in the memory card and it records everything as you see it! Then you can take it home and bore your loved ones with all of the lame flying videos that they can handle, in HD!! hahaha

TheOfficialDanman haha that's exactly what I plan on doing. Were you able to keep the wizard's frame out of the recorded video?

+Jerry Voltz Almost, top corners of the video you can see a hint of the frame. This is on a pretty low camera angle, more camera uptilt and you will see more in the top corners. But it's only a little and if you were bothered by it you could change the mounting position. Mine is mounted using the metal mount that comes with the split 2, you could try mounting it in the original wizard position or wherever you like! The split 2 has a pretty wide FOV which doesn't help the frame seeing situation :-)

I won this race! Then every other race I got second place (usually out of four racers), just by staying in the air, I wasn't quick at all, but I'm ok at staying in the air and circulating :-) Don't know where I ended up overall, I had to miss the very last round to get to the avengers movie on time!

Thanks for the tip! I haven't done that mod but will look into it now! I just set a countdown timer on my phone. Very low tech :-)
