Thank you for your comment and I will try explain clearly with my knowledge I can. Tecsun PL 660 is PLL based radio so technically it can be called "analog" radio with digital display. Years ago I had one and despite being known for a lot of units failing and not worthy to repair it (was) is good receiver. As PLL radio it should have inside analog FM filters (probably 2). They can be replaced as stock filters in analog radios used to be very wide around 230 to 280 kHz for very good sound quality and to be able receive (decode) RDS information (Tecsun is known for unknown reason not to have RDS in their receivers anyway). You can find good quality Murata 56 kHz filters online for replacement. It will improve tremendously selectivity, but with such a narrow filter you wont be able to receive stereo and RDS (but for DXing stereo is nothing to worry about, but RDS is very useful to identify exact station and exact transmitter it is transmitting from. And once again, Tecsun - no RDS. So, you can replace filters but you will be stuck with that filter. Qodosen is different story. It is all around digital receiver with completely different circuitry inside and NXP DSP based chip TEF6686 (By the way your car radio probably also and that's why it is better). So it has 16 different digital bandwidths (17 including AUTO). It is very selective and in AUTO mode it switches automatically to higher bandwidth with slightest signal improvement. You can "maneuver" with them. I'm not sure how sensitive they would be side by side (PL-660 and DX-286), but I think probably there's no analog for DX-286. There's online cheap TEF6686 receivers in various different boxes, but Qodosen made it more user friendly and still it looks like normal radio. And final thing it's all about FM propagation conditions. If it's bad - it's bad for any receiver.

By the way, like I mentioned earlier, station mixing comes when FM filters are too wide (poor selectivity).

@@HardcoreDXLithuania I figured you knew about it. And despite these instructions being in the user manual, I thought I’d mention it anyway. Were you able to mitigate the RFI by some other means or are you still disabling the display to do so? The DX-286 is a very good radio I think!

@@skinnyblinddude nah, just left the way it is. I don't think there's much can be done about it. Hopefully in the future if something new will be released from Qodosen they will consider all the flaws that been mentioned on RUclips or in our Qodosen Facebook group and will try they best to make it even better.

@@HardcoreDXLithuania I commend the designers of the DX-286 for acknowledging the impact that internal RFI has in its performance, and including a feature to mitigate it.

This receiver is one of my favorites in all aspects.

It's quite good with separate tone knobs.

@@HardcoreDXLithuania A antena desse rádio é muito fraca para puxar várias emissora da FM se ela puxa uma emissora da FM é pouco as demais fica dando interferência no sinal, um rádio que contém no celular fala melhor do que esse rádio

Haven't received nothing so far from that direction. Only all stations transmitting from Kaliningrad transmitters.

I would say less or more equal on sensitivity, but Panasonic has more interesting one knob tone control with soft / news / music positions. And by adjusting it in the right spot, depending on situation sound can be more pleasant to the ear.

Without decent antenna probably no chance. Anyway, as Autumn is coming and propagation conditions for LW and MW will get better, I have some plans to build some loops.

Do you mean TEF6686 or TEF6616? And what do you mean by "analog" as they are digital chips?

@@HardcoreDXLithuaniaI mean tef6616 analog tuner with (dsp processor) rds,mpx, stereo decoder. Car radio system (radio magnitola) of Lada Vesta is built by tef6616, i use this radio magnitola.

I agree 100% percent. For it's size at the time it was number 1. Sony made a lot of great radios, but from "book size" receivers only 7600GR could compete with B-65. But B-65 side by side was the winner anyway.

@@HardcoreDXLithuania And also pay attention. If we compare the Panasonic 65 with the Sony 2010 (2001D) at medium, long and short waves, they are the same in sensitivity. I know what I'm talking about because I have both of these receivers. Panasonic 65 is distinguished by amazing sensitivity on all ranges.

@@Ronin-Tongor I also have and had about 5 Sony 2001Ds and its only advantage is superior SYNC detector and few more option like filtering what B-65 lacks. But anyway, for the outside use - B-65 was the option and for the inside - 2001D (2010).

Hello. At the moment I been using it with XHData 3000 mAh batteries which have around 2500 - 2600 mAh real capacity and last quite long. But also I disassembled broken vacuum cleaners battery pack which included 7 original Samsung 2500 mAh batteries with real 2500 mAh capacitance. They were flat tops as in the block been used in parallel to give high voltage. I made all of them button tops (radio accepts button tops only) by soldering solder balls on "+" terminals. So now I have bunch of them. Hope it helps. Never go for those "thousandish" like 4000, 5000, 6000 and so on as all they are scam.
