Been wanting to try this myself but for some reason ive yet to connect my LC 90 to my home Hifi. How was the sound quality ? Any obvious digital compression/distortion
No, if the station streams decent quality, like 192 kbs MP3, it sounds good for music. Lower AAC format is also acceptable, as AAC often provides a more transparent sound compared to the same bit rate as MP3. And like I mentioned before, stereo streams sound quite good. For talk stations, even lower bitrates are acceptable. Also, this is a good way to play high-quality music files from a microSD card (high-bitrate MP3, FLAC, WAV, etc.), and they sound really good.

Yes, but is it bad? The thing I'm missing on some streams sometimes it's EQ.
