After completing bsc in podiatric in india can get job in usa ?what is the path to practice in usa
Hi I'm from India Bangalore and would like to know if there are any diploma courses in Podiatry online could you please help me with it.
Podiatrists salary?
Easier to be a podiatrist in uk we are lucky
Who cares, seriously. A pointless debate. If you want to be a MD or DO, go to medical school. If you want to be a DPM, go to podiatry school.
Take us to your hospital share bits of footage of hosp it will be great motivation
Thank you! Appreciate the videos
Of course! 😁
Hi. I have been monitoring and watching your podiatry journey and I wanted to once again say thank you for your efforts with the videos..I am a podiatrist aa well but I attended school over 35 years ago so much has changed! My daughter is applying now for fall admission..thank you again !!
Wonderful to hear doctor! She is entering the profession at a perfect time!
@@TheDPMJourney you will be completing your training soon! Good luck to you ..dont forget to look into VA employment..it is the best life.
I have a question. About foot.kindly reply me ..noone answering my questiion im worried
Let us know the question!
Very good notes. Thanks.
Thank you 😊
Hi there- I just found your page! I’m debating between DO and DPM school and keep being told it’s better to go DO route. How come though? Aren’t DPMs surgeons?
We don’t think one is better than the other. If you like foot and ankle surgery and know that the speciality you see yourself in, then podiatry offers a guaranteed route into that. However, if you want flexibility with various career routes then DO is the way to go.
Hey Diksha, please could you guide how can an Indian student apply to this course ?
Hi Tanvi, we wish we could help you more, but we would recommend contacting the recruiting office at any of the podiatry schools. They can help more than we can!
Hey hi , I am a physiotherapy graduate planning to switch and study podiatry in USA please can you guide me about how to go about it ? 😊
We recommend contacting the admission offices of various podiatry programs which can answer your specific questions
Can one apply for residency in podiatric surgery in the USA ; COMPLETION OF pregistation podiatry uk ?
defo getting rejected 🥲
Why do you think that? You will definitely do well with preparation! Believe in it!
Very good video. 1st 2 yrs curriculum is exactly the same as medical school. Some medical students don't have research opportunities, glad to hear you have that
Exactly! For anyone reading this, a lot of the medical journey is what you make of it, so don’t give up but push through to find research by asking different professors, podiatrists, and truly any other professionals around you!
Awesome video, very informative and inspiring!
Thank you for your praise!
Western University in Southern Cal has Medical, Podiatry, Dental schools. All of them have the same classes with same difficulty first 2 years.
Yes, precisely! Thank you for adding value to this video and others with your knowledge of podiatry 🙂
Armchair idiots. Podiatry, dentistry, and medical classes are all the same first 2 years with the SAME difficulty. 3rd and 4th years begin to be different based on specialty
His status are better than the average medical school applicant
As as podiatrist, your are guaranteed to be a surgeon. Even most MD/DO students are not
Very true! That’s a big reason why we chose podiatry!
How many surgeries do you have to do to finish residence?
How much time on average did you study per day?
Really depended on the classes for that semester, but usually around 2-4 hours per day!
@@TheDPMJourney Many thanks.
Whats the salary for podioatry residence?
It varies across different residency programs. Usually ranges from 50k to 70k.
Day in life of residency show life in hospital
Will try to make this soon! 😁
I have question can i become real foot and ankle surgeon and work in hospitals as surgeon?or will i not be considered surgeon by hospital even if did residency? Im afraid seen poeple call dpm fake surgeon they say ortho are the real and pod dont get cases reffered for surgery i dont want to do only sskin related i want to be surgeom like bone related can i be if i get into podiatrry????
DPM’s are highly appreciated and considered foot and ankle surgeons across the USA. After you complete your 3 year residency, you can perform on both bones and soft tissues related to the foot and ankle. There are limitations in what you can do as a DPM depending on which state you practice though.
Can you not stop posting? There are very less pod related channels please continues to inspire us
We won’t 😄
I wish I was good enough to go. Maybe someday.
You definitely are good enough! We’re rooting for you and here for you if you ever need any direction 🙂

hi my mother has huge pain in her legs lower side of feet post chemotherapy does podiatry or neurologist treat this medical condition plz suggest as her pain is un barrable
Hello, to be safe, we would suggest your mother please visit her primary care physician first to be evaluated and then be directed, after some imaging/ testing like ultrasound. I hope your mother visited the Emergency Department at least by now!
I went to a podiatrist/ortho the other week and she was so nice 🥺 kinda quiet lol but maybe next time I go we’ll talk more, I was kind of shy last time as well. I was STRESSED bc the office is a bit over an hour away and I had to go in rush hour that time lol. I’m going for a follow up with her on Tuesday morning! She was also awesome bc she just sat with me for a few mins :) I wasn’t upset or anything but it was nice having her there! I’m feeling a little better, I had a MRI done yesterday so we’ll see how that turned out 🤗
Thank you for sharing about your wonderful experience! May you have a smooth recovery 💕
@@TheDPMJourney thank you!! I broke my foot so it’s been taking a while but I feel like I am getting a little better
Podiatry school is podiatry school not Medical allopathic school, or Osteopathic. Some Podiatric colleges are owned by DO or MD schools.
Same classes first 2 years
They are worth it if you know you want to work in certain types of procedures or in research.
Very true!
Amazing video. In my opinion ankle surgery and sports medicine is very lucrative. ATFL and AITFL repairs and arthroscopy of the Ankle and STJ. If you decrease exposure to the patients with uncontrolled co morbidities you can decrease the risk of complications and potential lawsuits. Of course get the imaging studies like X-rays,US, CT or MRI prior to surgery.
Remember you are there to continue to study and practice under the supervision of the licensed providers and your senior residents and residency director.
Congrats on the residency
Let me know if you guys want to come to nyc and find out more about private practice in podiatry.
My advice get your podiatry license after first year in the state you want to practice at the end of second year if your state requires that just in case the program closes or you need to leave the program for any reason.
Wow embrace the knowledge and know you have certain number of hours of postgraduate training! You are not there to cash in on your education there will be time for that later. Also have thick skin and have that moral compass. You are doing awesome on this channel. Stay longer hours and finish strong.
The area where the school is and the hospital rotations affiliated with the school are in a dangerous area. The housing is also in a dangerous area. Do not stay out late and do not wear expensive clothing. 125 and 124 street and Lexington where the closest subway station is has the highest Over dose rate in nyc. Also the bridges like any other building in the are has roaches and mice but that’s of course also dependent on your room mates or non school affiliated neighbors at the bridges. This is common in that are in nyc. Overall the school has the most exposure of pathologies in podiatry and amazing academic professors and clinical instructors.
Have you seen any favoritism based on female residents and male attending physicians “fraternizing” ? Can an incompetent female finish residency with no learning?
Would you recommend this path if someone wants to get into hands-on clinical care and surgery? Mainly because it's a shorter path into the OR compared to other surgical specialties. I am interested in this field after shadowing a couple of podiatrists. The biomechanics, surgery, and conservative care appeal to me. I am a lifelong athlete and have seen a relative deal with losing a limb and friends with plantar fasciitis, so I can see the importance in caring for the lower extremities. I am curious about the job market in the northeast and the salary for new grads?
The more I learn about it, the more I realize that Podiatry is such an amazing field! You're a full and expert surgeon! Oh... And the pay is AWESOME! Good luck on your journey. I know you'll be an absolutely amazing surgeon! Or should i say, you are already an amazing surgeon. Paging Dr Diksha...
Thank you for this wonderful comment and your praise. It truly is such a diverse field. We appreciate your encouragement :)
how can i get those books online
We hope you were able to find them! We listed the resources in the caption below the video; here they are again: 1) Sketchy Micro: sketchy.com/products/micro 2) FirstAid: www.amazon.com/dp/126046752X?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_21F28JR2YM6NXVD71N7Ta.co/d/5GmcXaM 3) Deja Vu: a.co/d/5GmcXaM
What school do you attend
We attended CSPM, the California School of Podiatric Medicine!
Can you elaborate on the future job outlook?
Absolutely, that would be an excellent video to make. We've noted your request and added it to our list. Thank you!
