Thanks! The worm is fine, he likes our trip so far 😝
Uganda misses you❤
Oh how sweet! We wanted to travel further south before the rains so unfortunately decided to skip Uganda. We visited in 2019 and loved it! You can check out some old videos about that trip on my channel 😉.
@ yeah I watched them. They’re the ones that introduced me to your channel. Malawi has been on my vlogging list for long, maybe I’ll try it next year or sooner. Keep creating!
This seems to be a different trail . This trail surface looks some what nice . There are no buildings on the trail we hicked except on mountain top where couple small hotels are there . But the biosphere it self very beautiful . The guide told us the trail we hiked is the toughest and told us we should not have chosen
The Feynan lodge is a bit off the main Wadi Dana/Ghuweir trail. Furthermore no buildings indeed, only at Dana town. Hope you enjoyed the hike!

Check my profile, there are 4 Kenya episodes 😉
Omg, what a track!! 🙈 Looking forward to discovering more of Africa with you guys! 😍
Yeah, that 1 day was unexpectedly challenging, more challenging than our actual northern loop where everyone warned us about that the roads are challenging.
How much extra fuel did you carry, was there fill up station in there? Nice video definitely a subscriber
Hello, glad you enjoyed the video and subscribed to my channel! We have 2 tanks of 90l. I think we filled up 1,5 tank before departing. If not needed, we don't fill the second tank as it's a lot of extra weight you carry. But as we adapted our route a bit on the go (adding Reteti & the challenging road over Doldol) we filled up another 20 extra liters at the wind farm at Lloyangalani, just to be sure. This is on private property so no guarantee that they allow you on the premises, but we didn't encounter any issues. Good luck planning the trip!
Nice vlog, I'm Kenyan and I would like to explain the situation at L. Turkana. First of all, those are very remote areas and even finding a Swahili speaking individual is great. The man came to guard you, because its a normal practice to have guards in those remote regions, not because of the locals, but because of bandits or militias who can pause a security threat if encountered. I love that the old man guarded you the whole night. Kenyans are really hospitable people. I hope you enjoyed the trip.
Thanks for elaborating Dianah! As an outsider it can sometimes seem unnecessary to have an askari, as all people we meet are so friendly. But agree that this area suffers from militias, although we informed us well before traveling there and the areas that we traveled to should be relatively safe right now. We really enjoyed our time in Kenya, you live in a beautiful country! Glad you enjoyed the vlog. If you haven't seen them yet, there are 3 other episodes about Kenya 🙂
I've watched all your videos and love this trip! Could you estimate cost? I'm interested in doing it this way to save some money and have a more immersive experience. But also want to prioritize safety as a solo woman
Hi there, glad you enjoyed my videos. Unfortunately it's been a while ago to give you a cost estimate. We rented the car with Roadtrip Uganda, maybe you can take a look at their website for rental rates and other useful information. Good luck planning!

Wow! I was so exhausted just watching that car story can’t imagine what it was like for you. Loved the Island trip though. Céline your narration is brilliant.
Thank you so much! It was a looooong process to get the car, but with a good ending. And it did gave us the time to visit Lamu Island, which we absolutely loved.

Nice video! Love the elephants running across the road with the small ones ❤
Thanks! Yeah it was a cool moment, especially when the big one warned us afterwards, like it was saying "get out of our way" 🫣
Hi, really cool video :). Watched the full Kyrgistan series and really liked it. Do you hava a map on what you all visited because i am planing my trip and would love some recommendations also routes to drive through. Thanks!
Thanks for your nice comment! We don't have a map but the RUclips descriptions are quite informative on the route. We use organicmaps for offline navigation (mixed with common sense as it's not perfect). There is a nice book with offroad routes from OunTravela which can also help. We unfortunately learned too late about this trip, but everyone who we recommended it to afterwards, was very happy. Safe travels!

We loved Saudi!!
I hope you left my country "Oman" safe without destroyment😅,, you are most welcome any time
Hi, your videos are very beautiful and sources of inspiration. We have Toyotas in the Arab Peninsula and we would like to ship to Kenya. Where did you ship from? Oman or Dubai? How long before? Do you have a useful shipping address? Thank you
Ooh thank you, that's really kind of you to leave a comment. We chose to ship from Dubai as we wanted to have a longer shipping time in order to travel with our moms in Kenya without the car. The itinerary of all ships is actually Dubai - Salalah and then Salalah-Mombasa. If you want the quickest option I would opt for Salalah, Oman. The sea journey from Salalah only takes 5 days but you do need some time before and after to allow for customs & clearing. We had 1 week of delay because the shipping line chose to put our container on a later ship in Salalah, so you might already avoid that by shipping from Salalah directly. I don't have a contact from Salalah, but in Dubai we used Alan from Top most freight and in Kenya Jane from Renzo Global (but she is associated with UAE Warehouses I think, same office). They are used to working together so that helps. Good luck!
Hi guys
Enjoyed the video. Did you have any trouble getting the drone in? I thought they were strictly controlled in Oman.
Glad you liked it! It's probably a bit easier when you take a land border compared to arriving by plane. Most of the time the border control takes a quick look in the car, but when they see all the mess in the back (a pile of camping chairs, pillows etc), they let us continue. There definitely always is the risk of losing it, because it CAN happen that they ask you to empty the whole car. Generally we are very careful when flying it, as we don't want to disturb other people. We mainly use it in remote areas, where it is really helpful to capture the vastness of the landscape.
I hope the rest of your Africa journey progresses more smoothly.
Thank you so much! For now, everything is going very well so it was worth the wait.
fuck the IT
Hi guys, what a tragedy in the shipping and receiving process😂 looking forward to the new clip, I wish you a happy and safe journey❤❤
Amai….wat een stress momenten, maar weeral prachtig in beeld gebracht!😮
It was a test of our patience haha. But we're very happy that we are reunited now, and we are loving the adventures with our car. I'm working on the next videos as we speak :-), glad you are on board!
@@kameersman Met veel geduld en vertrouwen dat het goed komt 🙂. Bedankt om te kijken!
Why are you complaining about many tourists on the masai mara instead of feeling lucky to witness the wonders of kenya. Also youre in the savannah ofc the road is dirtroads due to dry seasons. Should they tarmack the roads to ease your journey at the expense of the natural wild animal habitat and food?
Hello, thanks for watching the video. I want to address the points that you are commenting on. We are very happy and lucky that we could experience the beauty of Kenya. The country surprised us in a lot of ways, and we have been recommending it to many people since our visit. A variety in landscapes, amazing wildlife opportunities and friendly welcoming people. But if people would ask me if it is worth it to splurge on Masai Mara (since July 2024 it is 200USD park fee for international visitors), I tend to be a bit reluctant. We saw many other cars (we counted over 100 watching a small pride of lions!), and I can only think that if must be stressful for the animals to be surrounded by so many cars. Some drivers really get way too close and don't give right of way to the animals. In my opinion, Kenya has really beautiful smaller conservancies where you can get a more intimate safari experience without being too intrusive for the animals. In the third episode we take the viewers to Rukinga conservancy. I had never heard of it before visiting Kenya, but it was brilliant! If I gave you the impression that I want roads to be paved, I am sorry for that, as that is not my point at all. We like to get off the tar road as much as possible :-) My point was that the safarivan that we have rented was not the right fit for the road conditions (too little clearance and very bad suspension), that's why we decided to take the Landcruiser of the lodge instead of doing a selfdrive. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out! Have a nice day.
welcome to Saudi Arabia
Yay! Karibu kenya 😊
Asante sana!
If they let people go snorkelling at will, all the poverty people workers would immediately destroy the reefs, scouring it for food and trinkets they can sell. This is why you can jump in the water here and, just one metre from the shore, see giant clams and corals. Because they protect their asset. Also, you should wear your abaya. Things happen more easily when you are respectful of people's culture.
So cool
Glad you liked it!
