I don't know who told you they were that new. But I think they were confused. They have been around since 2018 and they have a large and amazing discography.

Girlfrennnnn I discovered BTS 3 years ago. I came from straight rnb and rap. When I say they are that group they are them! I got tired of the money clothes cars and females narrative in rap unless your jcole or Kendrick type of rap which I LOVE. BTS is refreshing they get the message across without over sexualizing or cussing. They write produce and compose their own music. You know back in the days of nsync and B2K etc there is only one standout. Only one “Justin Timberlake” or “Omarion” there’s none of that here. All seven are highly crafted in their own artistry. The only group ever to have all 7 members have a very successful solo career. As everyone suggested you got to watch the guide to understand that these humble kings helped an almost bankrupt company basically take over and became a multibillion dollar company. Doesn’t change em tho. You go down the rabbit hole over a decade later they still act broke and fight over food. Truly HUMBLE. The only artist I know that consistently thanks their members, staff, whole team!
