Guitar parts for some of my favourite rock songs
How to Play New Kid In Town - Vn2 - Don Felder's guitar part - The Eagles
The Eagles' New Kid In Town (1976). A bit of a blend of Don Felder's and Joe Walsh's guitar parts, plus incorporating some of the organ fills but mainly Don Felder's. Played in Standard Tuning. Thought I might be able to improve on the execution of the previous playalong

The master
Excellent Triads
That Don Felder@@Barchenhund you wouldn't want to lose him from your band...
That's hit! Bullseye!
Thanks Buds - shadows the sax part, both fairly well buried in the mix
Nice job man
Thank you@@SchoolAcct-Severin-xj9zk cheers
Awesome, dude! Do you have tabs you can share?
Loved it!!!
Nothing I like more than listening to fish mating over the sound of Keith’s guitar. Try again?!?
One of the limitations of the software I used is that the background gets pretty swirly and yes, it can be a bit overpowering but at least the isolated guitar comes through
This has nearly all the parts for the whole song, great work, thanks!
No worries, elwrongo - I'd hoped it would provide people with plenty to get them started on
nicely played, you showed me little fills and the parts i didn't know
Thanks very much. Had my ear all but glued to the speaker to get all the little bits
do yuo have tab sheet? for this one thanks bro
No, sorry mate - keep watching the fingers!
So simple on the 1st half of the song, perfect compliment to Keith's dirty gtr. Sterling guitar player
Jefferson Airplane is my all-time favorite band and I absolutely love the fact that someone actually took the time to replicate Paul's 12 string guitar lines with that dark sparkle that was so different than McGuinn's jingle jangle trip with the Byrds but always had an underrated flavor of its own and really complimented Jorma's string bending leads✌🏼
Thanks Paul - the first JA song I ever heard, watching Monterey Pop many yrs ago. Kantner's 12-string drives it, using riffs and chords rather than arpeggios. It jangles, but differently
I like that song.. 😁
0:46 That characteristic lick is from Taylor
That's a lot of detailed playing. Great job!
Thanks agtrst - the Strat's doing all the work...
@@ladlitter7529 Strings won't make a sound without you. At least take half the credit. 😃
Great playing as usual Lad !! That 70s Strat sounds killer, there’s something about those 70s Strats that just kinda have that sound , idk why they got such a bad rap 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks Brad - and yes, you and I belong to a small subset who believe 70s Strats to be much-maligned
@@ladlitter7529 I like the big headstocks too , and i bet that bullet truss rod nut is an easy one to adjust ?
Another great one !!! That slide riff on your 12 sounds awesome!! Your tone is pretty spot on too!! Great stuff buddy !!! Thanks for sharing all these , fun and inspiring to watch 👏😎
Many thanks Brad! Trying to emulate what Brian did on his Rickenbacker 360-12
Did you made another video teaching this? I wished the tab, but you said you don't do it right? 😢
Thanks Niki - you have inspired me - I'll practice up on it and do a lesson - stay tuned...
That sigma sounds amazing! Great video !
Thank you Brad - turned out to be an astute purchase
@@ladlitter7529 yea that’s definitely a beauty! I bought a 1975 Alvarez 12 string a few months ago and it’s beautiful sounding … now I just need to keep workin on my chops so I can do it justice! Videos like yours definitely help a guy like me out! Great stuff buddy !! Hope all is well !
Yes this is a far improved version and comes very close to the original
Good on you DSG - many thanks
Fairly accurate could do with some improvement but overall does rhe job.
Thanks DSG - I've done an updated (hopefully improved) version uploaded now
@@ladlitter7529 will watch it thanks
this is so fucking amazing! Mick T and his glorious guitar!!!
He got lucky
Wrong. He got TALENT.
He's not playing it right.
🤣🤣🤣
Favorite Walsh tune, sounds good.
Thanks - you're very kind - still not sure if Joe's using Open G tuning - seems to fit the song nicely
TYSM this is top!
Bô¿ôgie !
10-4 'Suspect Apprehended'
😎
Very nice. One of my favorites
Good on you 40 - appreciate the feedback
Great work!!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks mate!
Very nice!
Thanks mate!
0:29 if you ain’t tappin your toes in time, you have no groove
Great resource. Thank you.
Geez......you play it great......but how do you play it?????? I for one can't read your mind, or all of your fingers...... How bout a little words or talking about what you are playing......or maybe some tabs???? HUH???? LOL
You're absolutely right Tommie - need to do accompanying lesson clips going through the guitar parts in finer detail - stay tuned - a work in progress!
Thank you.
😎 Cool. Very cool.
Thanks Reddove!
Great stuff, another example of amazing and measured Brians guitar playing was
That's the thing I've discovered about Brian, Bonchick - with Keith's guitar parts you've got a little bit of leeway but with Brian's you have to be very precise
Hope you tab the part much enjoyable to learn
Thanks Enrico. I will be doing this guitar playalong again soon. I think I can improve it
Thank ser im glad this will help for all who wants to learn this classic song
graciaaaaaaaasss
Great job!! This has been the song that I use to work on my strumming, seems easy to play but if you don’t play it with the right vibe it sounds way off! JamesJames has been my mentor & inspiration since I started playing !!
It's a nice acoustic guitar part Brad, especially with the Nashville Strings. And yep, James James is terrific!
hardly isolated.
After the walk down going to the Em7 then A x3, go to A minor not C
Thanks Jay - I'm going to do the playalong again soon (aiming for better sound and execution) - I'll try out your suggestion when I'm practising up for it
Thanks Lad Litter! It will really help me. I'm not a lead player generally, but I'm in a duo that would really enjoy this as part of the sound. Great job!
No worries Ploobstill - you're very kind - thank you
Wow! Nicely done !! I’m still trying to work on this one ! It’s tough ! You make it look pretty easy !! Very cool 😎
Many thanks Brad - a cool, swaggering guitar part from 23yo Keith back in 1966 - good luck with getting it down
👏👏
Perfectly done! BRAVO!
You're very kind Red - many thanks
C#minor pentatonics. Good work!!
Thanks Kirk - got it as close to Keith as I think I possibly could
Underrated guitar player Great singer songwriter Rest in peace Croz 🕊️ Your music lives forever ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻
Absolutely fabulous. There was a time when he was the hottest rhythm guitar player in town. My mother was a Latin dance teacher during the era in the 50s when rhumba, Cha Cha and Bossa Nova records were the hot thing and I'd bet as a kid he was hearing that around the house.
I like what you are doing. I wish you would post the lead like it's played live starting in the G position in open G.
Thanks Sean - was quite surprised to learn that on the Get Yer Ya Yas Out live version Keith does the solo in Open G. What I've tried to do with the fill-ins and solo here is to blend the fills played by Keith and Mick Taylor into a single standard tuned guitar part
@@ladlitter7529 ruclips.net/video/dj7yd19aAW0/видео.html The new concerts with RW. Your awesome man.
Thanks very much Sean - there's a guy Mihara Takaaki who's very adept at playing Ron Wood's guitar parts from live versions of Stones classic songs - as the clip you linked to demonstrates, Wood comes up with some intriguing arrangements well worth pursuing
@@ladlitter7529 ruclips.net/video/kCGwbjb0VWw/видео.html
I love those riffs at :52 and 1:45 into the lesson,Thank you for teaching/sharing.It's one of those;"I know a LOTTA stuff on guitar,HOWEVER!I didn't know THAT(till now!)moments!😁.
No worries Rudy - how good is Don Felder? Beautiful arpeggiation in those spots you mentioned. Glad you got something out of my efforts here - all the best to you
