I wish I could help! Cold Steel delisted their Officer's sword years ago. Unless you can find it third party or used (Ebay?), I'd just be Googling options. One thought: Since Naval service is a family tradition, you could look up the eras your predecessors served in and try to find a vintage sword from one of those eras, as a nod of sorts to those who came before you. It would likely be more expensive going this route, but also very cool. Good luck with residency and your future commissioning! That's exciting.

RDR2 comes with two discs, right? A data disc and a play disc. You probably need to switch to the play disc.

Typically, yes, for games with multiple discs. Then the main/game disc is what you leave in the machine to play.

No, you’ll need the disc in to play the game. That’s how they protect against piracy through sharing discs.

@@Clarkarific Man, ill be double dog damn, my PS5 really does read my PS4 disc!! Feeling like a total idiot, i know what happened now. See, i wanted to play Red dead Redemption 2 and the game comes with 2 Disc's. Turns out i needed the first disc to upload data so I can play the main 2nd disc( Which I might have thrown away 🤦🏾‍♂️). But at least the mystery is solved. Thanx A bunch. 🎮

Yeah, particularly when it first spins up the drive is loud. But I’ve been using it since launch - no issues. 🤞

The drive in a PS5 is the ultra HD Blu-Ray variant, so PS5 discs can hold more data per disc than a PS4 disc.

@@GOKU_SENSEI13 That's the frustrating part: it's completely game dependent. Now, as far as I know, it's never disc versus digital dependent, just the game itself. Some titles have enhancements to the PS4 version if playing on the PS5, others enable full PS5 version access, yet some have no benefits. You'd just need to look it up, title by title.

Like physical games, it depends on the specific title. Some have free PS5 upgrades to the complete PS5 version, others have patches, some have no benefit at all. You'd be best served just googling the games you're considering. Good luck!

It depends on the game. Some play identical as if you're using a PS4. Others load faster, some have improved graphics. Unfortunately it's a little confusing and non-standard.

What you're describing sounds normal. Modern games are so big that playing fully off the disc isn't practical. Thus, if you own the disc the PS5 will copy contents from the disc and/or download files to the SSD so the game can benefit from the speed of the SSD. Then, the disc mainly needs to be in the system to allow the game to launch, acting like a key of sorts since the system knows you didn't buy the game and download it digitally.

If you're able to do so, I say go for it. The PS5 experience is so great. That said, a PS4 is obviously much cheaper and has a banger of a library that could keep you busy for a decade.

Probably just the disc drive spinning, which is very loud. I personally wouldn’t worry. I’ve used many PS4 discs in my PS5

@@abbasayad3253 I don’t know for sure but I doubt it. When playing a disc based game the PS5 will occasionally spin the disc for data and/or to verify the disc is still there.
