@@LewisMcDonaldBass Mic & amp always! I use a Shure USB mic plugged into my iPhone and put the phone in front of the amp. I use a Canon camera for the video.

@@LewisMcDonaldBass me too! I’m sure I could make the audio killer with a proper mic and some mixing. The channel is more of a hobby so I haven’t gotten too laborious with it. Between equipment setup, recording, processing and uploading, each video takes me about 4 hours.

@@idleave Yes! He used the Rocktron on those songs live! If he ever used a phaser live, it was definitely before the Neon Ballroom era. In fact, he used the Rocktron on at least 50% of his live guitar performance during Freak Show and Neon Ballroom tours. All of his ‘big rock riffs’ as well as many of the quieter guitar parts are the Rocktron. It was absolutely his main pedal between 1997-1999 shows. Good ears!!!

I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t think so, based on the live shows I’ve watched from that era. I know for certain though he had it on his board from 1999-2005.

@@tristinsean7222 thanks man. Once I figured out how to play Ramble I figured out how he nails his octave chords in this tuning. ‘The Secret Sauce’ as I call it. Makes the guitar sound massive!

I explain in the video that the overdrive comes from the amp. No pedal can supersede the overdrive of a good tube amp. Dan also gets his overdrive from his amp. If you absolutely must use a pedal for overdrive, I recommend the Soldano pedal as it imitates the overdrive of Dan’s amp.

@@naeltxr1543 since I now use a high gain tube amp, I now get my overdrive from that (the EVH 5150 Iconic 40w tube combo amp) instead of getting the overdrive from the Jekyll and Hyde.

Fuzz is distortion, is it not? The diodes are clipping the wave form, about the most intrusive method of distortion.

@@arconeagain Fuzz, distortion, and overdrive all fall under the category of ‘dirt’ pedals, but they are distinct. There are lots of articles online that can explain it if you want to learn more.

I appreciate the feedback! I loved that band so much and have probably consumed every piece of info and media of them. I’ve been listening to/playing their songs for 29 years now (I play three other instruments too), so I can say a lot about their stuff. Hence, “The Silverchair Fan.” 😉

Thanks! I love the Tsunami so much because it’s a unique type of chorus pedal with how big and loud it makes riffs sound (like a tsunami!). And then you get the second channel. Best chorus pedal ever.
