    Thank you so much for this lovely video. I was a youngster when our family camped at Agawa every summer! It was rare if there was any other camper there. We loved walking the beach and exploring Sand River, Wawa, High Falls, Michipicoten and The pictographs (and by the way, back in the 60's, the trail went UNDER that suspended rock and went down to the shore, we'd then walk the boulders till we got to the pictographs. Apparently, at some point the water level changed a bit and they had to reroute the trail). We also use to drive to Frater and take the train to Agawa Canyon from Frater. I don't think they offer it anymore. Wawa was a high point for us...there was a wonderful bakery and German deli, Whites Jewelry, and the Woolen Company...and the most MARVELOUS little french fry stand that was between two buildings on Main Street. I don't think any of those spots are there any more. Still, you highlighted so many of my favorite places... next time don't forget about Sinclair Cove and Gargantua!

    On the last visit, we actually had to go out and buy an extension cord, because the outlet was a little too far away. Also, it is possible to canoe down the Big East River, but it is somewhat complicated by needing a shuttle, and I don't think many people do it.

    We just returned from Bon Echo. Two things we would add to your must do list: The Shield hiking trail and also taking your watercraft to Joeperry Lake for a few hours or a day. If you don't want to portage your watercraft the .5km from parking lot to lake, you can rent a park canoe at the launch on Joeperry.

    We are a new family with 2 young kids in this country based in Toronto, I just found out about camping in provincial parks and that there are roofed accomodation options too. Any idea where I can read about best options for families? I would want to camp in tents , rv etc probably when the kids are little older but would want to try roofed option first. Please guide if you can, thanks

    • @OntarioCamping
      @OntarioCamping Месяц назад

      It totally depends on what you want to do, getting a roofed accomodations in the summer is nearly impossible. You can always try it in the off season or start with a regular campsite and a tent and go from there. All reservations are made through reservations.ontarioparks.com. Happy Camping!
