      Thanks for the comment and the kind feedback. Yes, plenty of places to get out and explore. There are several good FB groups in Maryland that organize rides as well…I had the machine insured through Progressive. They totaled the machine. There is no way to repair the Sea Doo ST3 hulls with anything more than a small crack. Progressive was responsive and quick to pay me out…now, I have to decide what is next. I’m thinking about a different manufacturer. Happy riding. Cheers.

    I’ve had two batteries go out on me. Luckily one was right at the ramp when I tried to fire my ski up to put it on the trailer. The other one I was out about 5 miles from the ramp. The problem with those jump starters is when your battery goes out you can’t jump it. It’s dead. You need something to sustain power because you ski will not run with a dead battery. I’ve thought about using one of those, but just decided to carry a spare battery.

      @@danav3387 thanks for the comment. Interesting point. I know on the Fish Pros there is a second batter. If you’re on the ST3 hull you could add a second battery with the Sea Doo kit. But carrying an extra batter work too. Removing the battery is a pill. Enjoy the rides.

    You may want to start plotting your courses better when traveling unfamiliar waters. You can check out Navionics chart viewer to check for obstacles. Also check out Google earth for the area your going to be navigating, Trust me I know from experience how easy it is to run into hidden problems on the water.

    Sorry for your damage, Sea doos has a very weak hull, for a strong hull you got to go with Kawasaki ultras and the most important YOU DON'T PULL SEA DOOS WITH OUT A INTAKE HOSE CLAMPS IF YOU DON'T PUT CLAMP ON THE INTAKE HOSE ,WATER GOES TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND YOU'LL LOCK THE ENGINE.. HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL WITH THE INSURANCE AND THEY DON'T PUT IT TOTAL LOSS

      Thank you for the questions. You can find the nuts on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RW9ZH4H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For the bilge pump, I bought this 1000GPM Johnson Pump and then a three-way bilge pump switch: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q8KQFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are lots of pumps, switches, mounting options to choose from. Do your research and find what works for you. As to how I plumbed it, you could see in this video the general location of where I mounted the pump. Then I took the 3/4" hose and ran it up the starboard side of the PWC. There are these ports that run from the engine compartment up to where the nose cone is. Watch this video and at about three-minute mark the maker explains exactly how to fish the hose: ruclips.net/video/5TqyKTOQSe0/видео.html I found this video when I was installing my Garmin GPS and thought that I could do the same thing with the exhaust hose for the bilge pump. So, I fished the hose through the routing port, then drilled a hole in the nose cone for a thru-hull fitting, and used a hose clamp to attach the hose to the thru-hull fitting. That location is where the water exits when the pump is triggered. As I said in the video, you can replace that piece of plastic in the nose cone for $30-40 via any Sea Doo parts website. If you decide to install a switch, you'll need to figure out where you want to install it. I cut a hole in the storage compartment and mounted it there. You'll need to wire it to your battery with a fuse. I used heat shrink on all of the connections. Then, zip-tied everything neatly. I hope this addresses your question(s), or at least gets you started. If not, please reply and ask. Good luck.

    I hope the insurance company takes good care of you. Im picking up a new RXTX this week and just went through the process of picking up a policy. Ive watched quite a few of your videos and appretiate the content you make. Was the item you struck floating or attached to something under the water ?

    • @BriansEscapades
      @BriansEscapades 17 дней назад

      Thanks for the comment, Fred. Enjoy the RXTX and check out episode seven for some discussion on gear and modifications…good question on what I hit. Quite frankly, I’m not sure if it was floating or in place. There were some rollers and it was still early in the morning so the glare of the sun off the water’s surface was in play, too. I think coupling both elements together obfuscated my view a bit. Probably 5-10 feet before I hit, whatever it was, I saw it, tried to swerve and brake and made impact. Fortunately, I was probably only going 15-25 mph and not very fast. I didn’t stick around to investigate what I struck, rather I immediately and quickly headed for the closest shore to beach the machine and assess. Once a Sea Doo starts taking on water in the engine compartment, it’ll go down quickly. Consider adding a bilge pump to your new machine. Happy riding. Cheers.

    I'll be here whenever you want to come back to ride buddy! The drawbridge always has an attendant during the day and if you call the number on that blue sign it goes straight to the phone in the little room there by the bridge. They'll open it if you ask nicely 😊 they usually just leave it down for pwc's. This is one of Maryland's secrets for sure. Check out Pitts Creek it was a branch off of the river about half a mile (2 turns) from the mouth of the bay, that's where I ride alot at. Had a awesome time riding today buddy! The other direction from where we were is about 3 miles to the end. Theres a bridge in Snow Hill, MD that it comes up to and there isn't an attendant in that one. Also on the other side of it is a kayak rental business and its no deeper than 3ft all the way up into Delaware. @BriansEscapades

      Hi Kevin. This is my first PWC. It rides very well and I've had it up to 60 MPH. Mainly I ride in the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding tributaries--it's big water. Given that, I haven't found a need to go 70 or 80 mph. In other words, if it is not flat and your try and ride at top speed, you're going to get beaten up. I do a lot of exploring and set the cruise at 35-40 mph and find it does very well. I was trying to find a 230 or 300 when I bought this. However, this was the only thing I could find that was available. I have been very content and it does all I need. I hope this helps!

      It does very well. You can adjust the nozzle to pitch the nose up, down, or neutral. So, in rough water, pitch it up and it will push the nose of the Sea Doo down. It rides quite nicely in the rough water.
