Video of my travel vehicle and partial set up including the bed, storage nets, pets area, lunch table and window covers. I’m not traveling at the moment so the car is more empty than usual. Also, I got this vehicle on 02 Feb 2020 and the film was shot 09 Jun 2020 and haven’t yet fitted my hitch for my cargo carrier. That gives me much more storage. It’s where I would keep my ice box and little burner among other things. I have added a pick of my old car with the cargo carrier so you can see what I mean. Also, I mentioned in the video I wanted a hybrid, but didn’t say why. The reason is because I travel to some hot and humid places and it’s a game changer to be able to run the hybrid over ...

    Thank you for makin this, i was thinkin bout buying a used grabd c-max so i could put a air mattress in the back and maybe sleep there on longer road trips. Seeong that youre 5'10 im confident ill fit, if a bit cramped, into the grand c-max even tho i am 6'6 at 17yrs old, the window foil is a brilliant idea btw!

    I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer that I plan to road trip in. I was trying to think of an alternative to the carpet and like your idea of vinyl flooring. You just have your drivers back seat folded down, right? With a seat folded down I really like the storage places on the passenger back floor, behind the seats, and I'm considering storage pockets hang on the back of driver and passenger seats. I like your idea of boxes up on top and your outdoor chair, and you say they hold tight with the Bungie cords and now I want to try this. Somebody gave me a rooftop giant bag with it's own buckles and cords. I don't recommend it and I won't be using it again, it's extremely difficult to pack the bag up there, it's not waterproof so of course it rained on my trip and soaked everything. Also the roof rack is a wonderful place to climb up to by standing on the back gate and then you can sit up there and watch the sunset it's very peaceful. I love your idea of the black curtain behind the front seats while you sleep, and I like that you simply clipped it on both sides and then in the middle stuck it in the ceiling cubby, ingenious! I'm going to try to remove my middle outdated console so I can climb freely from front to back. I wondered about your clothes storage and extra shoes boots and things like first aid kit and small tools that sometimes come in handy when traveling. I love your dog, and have been without my own big dog about a year and a half so I hope to find a rescue dog as I would love the companionship and would feel much safer. Your video is awesome and I know I'm going to watch it again and again. Thank you very much for sharing!

    I have the 2017 Energi, trying to figure out how to get some sort of mattress in there to sleep, and I wish I could get the AC to run on the high voltage battery for the night, it seems to turn off after 30 minutes, which is very annying.

    I think if you use spray glue you could stick a layer of black plastic, felt or paper to one side and trim it off to make it look more polished. Also leaving one side silver would allow you to flip it around when you want greater heat reflection.

    I have a 2016 CMax Energi and I was thinking of going on a sleep-in-car roadtrip. I was wondering how to deal with that height difference between the trunk level and the folded down rear seats. Those plastic drawers are a good idea.

    • @Blztrls
      @Blztrls 3 года назад

      @@Noetik5000 Yes, I used a 3ft x 4ft piece of 1/2 inch plywood and just placed a cardboard box under the front of it to level the plywood then I used a 4" folding foam mattress on top of it. I cut out pieces of reflectix to block the windows and glued black plastic bags to it to make it look more stealthy. Worked pretty well. I was even able to run the A/C all night with the engine only kicking in occasionally to recharge the battery, only a used a few miles worth of gas.

    • @Noetik5000
      @Noetik5000 3 года назад

      @@Blztrls Awesome looking forward to doing this similar set up. How tall are you btw? I see the guy doing the video is my height 5'11 and said its comfortable I assume.

    • @Blztrls
      @Blztrls 3 года назад

      @@Noetik5000 You can easily fit over 6ft and a reg length mattress in it if you slide the seats forward and tilt the seat backs forward. One plus of the raised rear platform is that the center console is about the same height so you can slide the plywood forward over the center console and use the console to help support the plywood.

But consumer affairs reviews will always turn me away from hybrids (stalling, braking failures, inverter goes bad, not including high voltage battery, which I consider a maintenance item.)
