Truly amazing. Much love!
Thank you, means a lot!
back again, listening.. sure I'll see you again soon
Thanks for listening :)
Aren't you the guy that composed the music for wildfrost, if so, this game is going to have a BANGER OST
I am indeed! 😁
Looks sick!
Thanks! :)
While i'll admit a massive mistake making my deck 6 times as slow was probably the real reason, I just got here with a deck that could give Shades 12 more health and damage every turn and I lost. Y'all weren't joking.
Представяю, как челоек ложится в капсулу на своём корабле, а его будит не знакомый ему космонавт на уже разрушенном корабле
This is a masterpiece, I heard it 4 years ago and basically every month I have to listen to it at least once... This song has become part of what my girlfriend knows about me, she put this song in “define a song your boyfriend loves” trend. Thanks Paul and Scalefin.
Thank you so much! It means a lot that you connect with the song so much and are still listening. Crazy how it's already been four years since it released :)
They need to make more fights in the wasteland just so i can here this more
琴、三味線、横笛かな?素晴らしい!
"ah, crab time. gonna be here for a while."
theme of "alright the ape's gonna attack, dang"
For the longest time, I was horrifically stuck after creating a monster of a final boss (a teeth, berry tank combo). But this was around the same time I was discovering how great this games soundtrack is. This quickly became probably my favorite track and often I would listen to the whole thing one loop through every time I got pretty close to winning. It really just hits so different now and I did eventually surmount that challenge. Music volume on max forever.
So glad you enjoyed the soundtrack! :)
The real drums of liberation.
19:17 Anomaly = "DivKid - The Empty Moons of Jupiter"
Paul Zimmermann's best space haven song space haven to the moon and back MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON.
Moon indeed!
@@PaulZimmermann Yes.
god i love how this track feels like an escalation of spirit calling. like, the way uve used similar melodic ideas but then give us that thrumming, rhythmic bassline, and those more dramatic string melodies about halfway through the track and that urgent alarm-like motif makes this track feel like a more intense, dramatic and dangerous version of spirit calling. GAHH i love it
i reallllly love the instrumentation uve used on the soundtrack!!! im not sure what kind of instruments they are (and id honestly love to hear ab ur process) but this soundtrack both injects so much energy and moxie into the game, and seriously bumps up the immersion of being a lone traveller in the frost. uve done an amazing job on this soundtrack, and ill be listening to this for ages :]
Glad you like it! There are a lot of instruments on here, like Ukulele, Koto and Chinese flutes, among others :)
@@PaulZimmermann ohhhh!!! thats why the wind instruments sound so familiar!!! thats so cool :]
YES! YES! YES! YES! so satisfying sounds and instruments reminds me a bit of How To Train Your Dragon or similar (or maybe ive just been listening to too much HTTYD music), it's so awesome to find more music like that
Thank you! I love the score to HTTYD, so it's definitely been an influence! :)
@@PaulZimmermann wow thats so cool
THIS IS AWSM
THANKS!
Music to get mauled by 16 wild hogs to
Just lovely!
i like it.
it is, what it is.
I generally find Indie games have some of the best music in gaming these days. Space Haven, Citizen Sleeper, Hyper Light Drifter, all have absolutely incredible OSTs.
I'm honored to be in that list of incredible soundtracks! :)
Hello! There's a game called Project Arhythmia where people can make levels with music and share with each other. Can we use music from Wildfrost for this? No one will get money from that and you will be mentioned as autor
The absolute dread resulting from hearing the intro to this, combined with reading each of the enemies ridiculous effects, results in an epic opening to the *true* final battle.
Glad you're enjoying it! :)
This song makes me feel bad for dying... but at the same time... i feel bad for making it because your body gets takin over anyways.
Either way you'll feel bad, isn't that great! :D
I wish I could find an artist for this game style. Especially for What I want to do in my d&d campaign
Maybe try in the Discord server or on Reddit! :)
Fair
Me getting hit with the Cyberpunk anime flashbacks: 😭
How come, does it remind you of that show? Haven't seen it myself :)
@@PaulZimmermann In the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime, David goes to great lengths to ensure Lucy's dream of going to the moon. They have a somewhat rough start, but gradually grow closer. After growing close with David, Lucy gradually loses interest in her initial dream and just wants them to remain alive together, but David, claiming to not have anything else left besides her, is hellbent on helping her achieve that dream she once told him about, and does his damndest to have her reach the moon. I wouldn't want to spoil more, you'll have to check it out for yourself when you have the free time and experience the rollercoaster of emotions, sir. It has great animation and was quite popular when it came out, so I can assure you it'd be worth checking out. :3 Beautiful soundtrack btw, Space Haven has become one of my favorite games and I think a large part of that is due to the soundtrack. It's one of the few games where I never mute the game itself and open up my preferred background music in another tab, and the main menu hits me like a truck every time I open it. I also think it's quite cool how you're in the Discord of the game, and I can't believe you also worked on *Wildfrost.* I've seen that game on Steam earlier this year, but I wasn't sure about getting it, now I'm gonna check it out due to the OST. :D
@@howdypartner8326 That does sound very good, I'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation! :) Also happy that you enjoy the music so much!
Dem monster hunter vibes
This one fits more in the heart of storm fight. That' my only complaint for this wonderful soundtrack❤❤❤
Fair point! Glad you like it overall! :)
BINK, beloved, guard me from my stupidity
"Oh, right. Slapback/barrage/frenzy."
I would love for all bosses to have an audio flair like that, it’s such a neat and fun detail
Pretty much all bosses have their own audio flair, though Big Peng is the only where their name gets shouted :D
@@PaulZimmermann fair, I did notice the various clinks and splashes and wooshes, but they’re not nearly as pronounced as Big Peng… I’d certainly love more adaptive and reactive audio, more music tracks in general, though I know that’s a LOT of work… great job!
are any future updates going to include more of your bangers? 👀
I'm not aware of any plans! :)
@@PaulZimmermann here’s to hope, love your work!
Прекрасная музыка, особенно пролог) Прям влюбляет в игру с порога)
большое спасибо!
Drifters intro gives me goosebumps, every single time. Good work, hope to hear you on more OSTs :)
Thank you! :)
Me encanta, escucho tu música cada día.
Muchas gracias! :)
pov: you're about to get smacked by the x5 frienzy smackback boar
00:20 Damn I LOVE that!
I'm glad you do! :)
It's a fun game I will recommend it to person who is reading this....🥸🥸
Dear people of the future, I have but one tip for you: Use snow on the smackback hog. Makes the fight 20x easier.
Looking out for the future snowdwellers! 😇
yeah, my fave instrument, I love that even the instrument choices have character
It was very inspiring to have the art for the instruments when I started writing the music! :)
Sound of me rolling under the desk when I have no snow for Maw Jaw
And your leader's about to attack
I love this game for its gameplay, but boy if this soundtrack isn't running around my head all the time! genuinely amazing music. I feel like it all perfectly fits the theme and intensity.
Thanks for playing and listening! :)
Is it me or does this sound different from in-game?
Could be! The standalone soundtrack versions are sometimes mixed/mastered differently :)
@@PaulZimmermann I dont want to sound disrespectful but I wish I could get the in-game version, both sound awesome but im more attached to the game version
This has to be my favorite track in the game, the sheer *rush* it gives me while battling the games toughest bosses is indescribable. I always associate the part at 1:23 with the transition to the second phase, pushing you just a little longer to defeat the boss for good.
Glad you're enjoying it! :)
This theme is etched into my mind with the hogs, I’m terrified of them, but it also pushes me to play my best!
You can do it!!
It seems that when a soundtrack fits perfectly with a game, after some years, we only need to listen to the music to enjoy the game. Thanks for this work of art 🌌
Thank you for listening, even after all this time! :)
