My name is Felicee and I am on the road to becoming my own brand of UNIQUE. I am tired of trying to fit the mold and be like everyone else, so I have decided to just be ME. I know that I am taking a huge risk of being judged by putting myself
"out there," but to influence and/or encourage someone else (or me!) makes it all worth it!
A little bit about me:
I am a full-time mother of 2
I am married and to date, we've been married for 8+ years
I graduated from Ferris State University and obtained a bachelor of Business Administration and an Associate of Radiology
I am just about halfway through my MBA program at the University of Michigan-Flint
My goal is to become a full-time entrepreneur and to become a better mom and wife

I studied the crap out of this test. I wanted to do it only one time. I didn’t wanna have to come back and take it again. I also didn’t wanna have to wait 4 weeks for my results wondering if I squeezed by or not. I studied hard for this and got a preliminary score of 91!

Yes! There are a ton of jobs right now, pretty much anywhere! Take a look in the job market, you'd be happy!

So I have to go to X-ray school before I can become a ct ? Or can I just go to ct school and become a ct ?
you have to go to x-ray school then you choose a modality ( either ct, mri, radiation therapist, etc.)
There might be some independent CT programs out there. I am not aware of them myself, but some things have changed throughout the years!
Are there schools that give this type of training other than a college? How long is this training? I’m curious, I had a catscan a while back & the tech said I could leave my phone in the room..is this ok or can it damage my phone?
I believe there are some independent CT programs, however, I am not too sure of that. Yes, your phone is fine as there is no magnetic field in CT, unlike MRI.

CT...without hesitation!
You don't have to go through a CT program to sit for the exam, just need to have a radiological technologist arrt certificate correct?
I did not go through a program. I cross-trained. My understanding is that you need 16-hours of structured learning, along with your comps to sit for the exam. Hope this helps!

Are you worried about radiation exposure
Not at all. We actually step out or away when we are exposing the patient.
There are protective screens to protect staff during exposure. Also radiographers wear tld detectors to monitor any radiation exposure.

I used Correct Tech as the sole ONLINE source along with books.

i graduate in December from x ray school and am researching modalities i am interested in. CT is definitely number one the list right next to heart cath! I also plan on traveling!
I've worked in the Cath lab also. Very fun and can be challenging due to the nature of the field.

Hi i graduate Highschool in may and was looking into this career. i’m from Mi as well. i wanted to start off and go into CT through a community college. not sure how long that would take. do u think it’s a good idea to start off with CT ?

I did the X-ray to CT route, however, there might be some independent programs that might be worth looking into!
I have my test scheduled for June the 23rd 2022 in SD. We can take it online too, from the comfort of your own home. Ima look into that.

Hello, I've recently decided to head to school to become a CT tech and was looking for the best career path advice if you would. 1st step is to enlist in a school that is accredited obviously, but is their any way to get someone to help pay for that with like entry level positions? Idk, maybe any inside tips you knew or stories you heard? I appreciate it in advance.
Have you gone to xray school yet? Some jobs will let you train on the job for a modality like CT / MRI / Mammo etc, but will require you complete the extra online education / exams accordingly and obtain that separate registry within a certain time frame

Mosby's was my #1 Go-to. I've heard a lot of good reviews for the Boot camp and Correctech (sp).

Yes! The great state of MI💕. Most places will cross train you in other modalities. That's what I did. Given that, I am not familiar with the formal CT programs. Most want the certification. Having a degree won't bring more money. However, they do require 16 hours of structured learning even if you train on the job. Hope this helps!

I passed with a 95 and I used rad tech boot camp, lots and lots of quizlet, and Mosby's Comprehensive Review (specifically their online testing that comes with the book). I took mock exams every day, sometimes twice a day and picked apart each and every question. Also, I took the registry exam the day after graduation so the information would be fresh in my head.

It's a sacrifice, but so worth it!
