Second only to Golden Brown.
Why weird?
Very good video! I have USDT in my OKX wallet and I have my recovery phrase. 《pride》-《pole》-《obtain》-《together》-《second》-《when》-《future》-《mask》-《review》-《nature》-《potato》-《bulb》 How do I transfer them to Binance?
Love this album and I’m British 🇬🇧 One of my favourite albums of all time.
Till I die is a combination of the lyrics reinforced with the written music that just stuns me. When it came out it was unexpected in the same way the music in Pet Sounds was.
Loosefish scapegase!!!
A nagging mystery - that started for me over 25 years ago, by this song that filled the hallways of my youth has now come full circle. I thank you for that. And i thank the Universe for bringing me to this.
He looks like a smackhead
This album is my ex partner, love of my life and soulmate.
Till I die was one of the best songs Brian ever wrote. The harmonies are fantastic

Well one thing for shure…. Roses and Oasis definitely nicked his hair cut !! 😂🤙🏽👊🏾
Get yourself a spoffle, mate! That's Hugh Laurie's word for the thing you stick in front of the mic to stop your p's and b's thonking on the diaphragm. Good video otherwise though, la'!
Infirmary, Mourning, and Crimson are untouchable.
WHEN, IN '71, I 1ST PURCHASED & BROUGHT BACK TO MY APT., THE ALBUM, " SURF'S UP ", I WAS SO EXCITED TO AT LAST, HAVE THIS ICONIC SONG ON VINYL. I HAD NO IDEA JUST WHAT ELSE THE ALBUM MIGHT HAVE IN STORE FOR ME AS I LISTENED. " TILL I DIE " STRUCK ME THEN, AS NOW-----FOR THE BEAUTY OF THE MELODY------THE RESIGNATION TO HOW LIFE IS BIGGER THAN ANY OF US CAN EVER KNOW-------AND HOW THAT ACCEPTANCE IS KEY TO " KEEP ON KEEPIN ON " , AS THE SAYING GOES. LEAVE IT TO BW TO EXPRESS IT SO BEAUTIFULLY. ----------MJL, 78 Y/O
Please work on your intonation. Your content is great but I just can't keep listening when every sentence is the same drone.
Cry more about it
Always loved this track, great retrospective of it and I think it actually suits Byrne very well, although it’s easy to forget it’s him actually on the track. Another song that could be interesting to do a backstory of is Some Girls by Rachel Stevens. It’s kind of wild that a track being from a member of one of the most innocent pop bands of the late 90s/early 00s that is so explicit in being about women being expected to give sexual favours in the industry to get ahead, while simultaneously sounding like a Goldfrapp song (probably a hallmark of Richard X’s production) would end up being for Sport Relief of all things. Such a bizarre combination and yet somehow for me it falls into the category of a track that shouldn’t work at all but does for me and honestly I’d love to know how that track even came together as it did.
Although I love a lot of Byrne's work, I found this track anaemic and uninspired. It was played a lot on UK radio at the time and I rapidly grew tired of it.
Saw Byrne on the ‘American Utopia’ tour and it was one of the highlights of the night. (And I’m a big Byrne fan).
@@Steaminlidz Although he didn't bring the production to here in the UK, I have the Blu-ray of it and it is indeed wonderful.
I wish the pictures were consistent with the time period being discussed
Nice Job! as i recall there was an original music video that was cheaper, when it suddenly statred being a hit a new one was cranked out. search for Lazy (Alternate Music Video)
Americas greatest band.
I only discovered john martyn within the last 10 years or so . But he has remained a staple and in rotation almost every day since . This was a great little insight into his life, that im only really learning about now and can relate to. Only wish i could have seen him live 💚
What other hit singles of the past few decades do you want to know the backstory of? Suggestions here please 👀
❤
I dug this
Great breakdown of a great track. Thanks Mr. Title Track!
Fantastic video keep up the good work! Earned a subscriber for sure
Way Out is my fav-La’s
i think most people knew all of this , none of this is news , asha is on GTA liberty city stories on the PSP , we all know what a 45 is and we all knew what the song is about , I think if you lived among a multicultural society would have got what it was all about. the fatboy slim version is annoying as hell
Great explanation on the lyrics and the background of the band. Thanks!
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment
is this channel inspired by trash theory? are you trying to sound like him?
Thanks for the comment - I have a lot of time for Trash Theory, he was one of the first doing these kind of homespun musical documentaries. But I don't see my videos necessarily being inspired by him. As for the voice, that just happens to be my natural voice!
that politician was right!
As an avid Beach Boys fan since 1963, I greatly enjoyed your video take on "Til I Die". A couple years ago, I listed it as #1 on my all-time Top 10 list that I shared with friends. You're probably well aware of Dave Edmunds' "Beach Boy Blood (In My Veins)". It's a fabulous tribute to the Boys and Brian and the coda is straight from "Til I Die".
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video mate, and thanks for the comment. It's a wonderful song isn't it? It's been years since I heard that Dave Edmunds track, thanks for reminding me of its existence.
Saw him play in the late 70s . Followed him throughout my life right up to the sad sight of him being carried on stage. Fantastic musician and spoke to me .Solid Air fantastic but so much more. Thanks for this review
After this video I decided to buy the album in HD. I wish I could have bought the CD back then.
Not the same language, but I had just read this the other day before I saw this video: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asha
So what did govinda and tattva mean
Yes, we all benefited from Brian's music through some of his saddest times, however can you imagine what he would have created if he was not battling these enter demons! 😢 I just pray that he could have had a less fractious, and utterly despondent youth! He deserved a much more peaceful happiness!
Always liked it. 🙂
Time to give them another listen with greater perspective, cheers mate
My pleasure, I hope you enjoyed the subsequent relisten!
Candyman on the album is my favorite and also the cover of Norwegian wood.
It's an incredible record, I never, ever got the hate for it. It's a masterpiece. It's a bit like MLIR is that a lot of people appreciate a lot more, down the line from when it was released,
No bosom for a pillow means they rely on the heartbeat of her music for relaxation and solace much like putting your baby head on the chest of a woman and listening to the heartbeat.
No brimful means it’s full to the brim (top edge of container is overflowing) of the container. Overflowing with her lyrics or overflowing with her music on a 45.
This is the thorough and well-thought explanation I always wanted for one of my all-time favorites. Thank you! I was perusing the news about recent political events in the US yesterday and came across the name Asha Rangappa somewhere. She is a writer, journalist and former FBI Agent and her name appeared in something I watched or read. It made me think of this song. Today, completely randomly, RUclips suggested this video to me... even though I haven't heard the song in years and didn't even say the title out loud yesterday. As per your description, it seems like a fitting resistance/protest song for the current happenings here. Many Americans, especially immigrants of color could use a bit of hope these days. The algorithm is creepy sometimes!
Thanks very much for the comment, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. The YT algorithm is baffling and mystifying, but it does seem to serve us what we need at certain times, often without us consciously knowing it. I'm glad it recommended my video to you!
Enoch was right though. Look at England now.
great video. i first saw cornershop in atlanta in the 90s. they were opening for superchunk and seaweed. they started with 6AM Jullandar Shere. It was so new and different that a small but significant number of us stopped socializing and moved to the front to really take in the music. then college and internet radio stations started playing 6am JS. That song is very special to me. their body of work is strong and they keep putting out good music.
That's a great memory Jon, thanks for sharing. 6AM Jullander Shere has always blown my mind when I hear it on record, I can imagine the feeling was double seeing it live, in the band's prime too. Thanks for the comment and view on the video.
1998 Cornershop was opening for Oasis at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas. I can still hear some guy yelling out, "get off the stage Apu!" while they played this song and Noel was helping out on guitar in my mind clear as day.
This song has been on so many playlists of mine in the last 25 years - such a bop!
