Always loved this track, great retrospective of it and I think it actually suits Byrne very well, although it’s easy to forget it’s him actually on the track. Another song that could be interesting to do a backstory of is Some Girls by Rachel Stevens. It’s kind of wild that a track being from a member of one of the most innocent pop bands of the late 90s/early 00s that is so explicit in being about women being expected to give sexual favours in the industry to get ahead, while simultaneously sounding like a Goldfrapp song (probably a hallmark of Richard X’s production) would end up being for Sport Relief of all things. Such a bizarre combination and yet somehow for me it falls into the category of a track that shouldn’t work at all but does for me and honestly I’d love to know how that track even came together as it did.
Although I love a lot of Byrne's work, I found this track anaemic and uninspired. It was played a lot on UK radio at the time and I rapidly grew tired of it.
What other hit singles of the past few decades do you want to know the backstory of? Suggestions here please 👀
Great breakdown of a great track. Thanks Mr. Title Track!

Saw Byrne on the ‘American Utopia’ tour and it was one of the highlights of the night. (And I’m a big Byrne fan).
@@Steaminlidz Although he didn't bring the production to here in the UK, I have the Blu-ray of it and it is indeed wonderful.
Please work on your intonation. Your content is great but I just can't keep listening when every sentence is the same drone.
Cry more about it
