I did. I’m not sure why this is a bad thing, you ever listen to a car in a tunnel?
Great review question please, i have installed same this borla Exhaust but sport mode is the same sound like normal, doesn't mean not properly installed and where is the wrong step so i can fixing it Highly appreciated if you replied me back
There’s a lot of reasons valves may not be functioning properly. Have they been recalibrated?
THANK U SO MUCh!!!
@@PantherCityBar you’re welcome
I have one of the approved cats on my 05 SLUEV vehicle. My check engine light comes on and off ever since I got it. I do have the state bar ref approvals, but my mechanic says there is nothing I can do to get it to stop doing that aside from getting an OEM Cat put back on. I passed smog after the State Ref approval a couple years and i just took it in but it didnt pass because my mechanic reset the code just the day before testing and the smog place said it needs to be driven more. The problem is the light will come back on. It comes on for days and stays off for days. My mechanic says there is nothing wrong with the car just the light won't stop coming on. Is there anything I can do?
Thank you for this video!…. I hate that my Honda is sulev….
Heads up, this is no longer accurate. There is another aftermarket option that no longer requires a visit to the referee now😊
There are more robbers in US then Other countries
Thank you for the video You might have saved my engine I have 2010 Prius . I was gonna drive couple hours.
Dealer just quoted me 7hrs labor so I guess they are perfectly in line. Sounded high to me but this video proves I was wrong.
This kind of coverage gets me to sign up 🙂
One down lol…thanks mate
I heard you can get a Trunk Monkey to protect your catalytic convertor for half the price of that.
Those were the funniest old commercials! I only wish they were true :-)
that how stupid the dealers think we are
Look at the prices people were paying for vehicles during covid. Not just that, but everyone bought up all the camping trailers and toilet paper. No wonder these scammers think people are stupid.
whit that cat the car pass smog
Wow what a beautiful car and sound❤I love it V6 vtec
I put my hand on the screens and they create some vacuum makes me believe they actually bring in cold air to the tail pipe which makes emissions look cleaner, they are not resonating anything better term is a air induction system for emissions.
They no longer sniff the tailpipes for emissions in California on vehicles newer than 2001
WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME! Can I get my 15 minutes back? I have a 2009 Prius with 212,000 miles and the cat was NOT stolen but won't pass emissions. If all of the aftermarket cats are around the same price or more than the OEM Toyota one, I'll just buy the Toyota one. Problem is, I don't want to spend $3,000 on a 15 year old car with 212,000 miles. One thing I was wondering but you didn't address is... at this point, I don't care if it's illegal in New York, California and Colorado but will the aftermarket cats which say are illegal in the restrictive states, pass inspection in those states?
Geez, I hope my response isn’t a total waste of time for you. I’m not an expert on other states and their rules, but if they require your car to have no faults and or check engine lights, any aftermarket cat is risky as they are made below the standards of the OEM part and may not make enough conversion to meet the criteria the OBD monitors are looking for.
what kind of cats are those?
Can you tell me if the Gen 4 has the coolant connections as part of the system as well?
Sounds like a waste. Sounds the same
You must be deaf…
THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!!!!
Because it’s an expensive car
Would you go for Valved or the Non Silenced exhaust?
Imagine actually living in California in the 21st century, what a shit hole!
Do you think the Borla atak (open valves) is louder than this corsa exhaust ?
Really close, it’s mostly a tonal difference
Which exhaust in your opinion has less problems with check engine lights?
Some asshole stole mine last year and now its time for smog. Im trying to find a good aftermarket carb legal one since I'm in California. Any info on one that will work?

I just bought a 2015 with a stolen catalytic converter. The stole both and just cut them off
The law is not going to do anything about this other than give you a police report and tell you to file it with your insurance and then they are done! I don’t know if this thing works but there’s ways to prevent this from happening but it will require you to make some hard decisions and decide how far you want to take it
I have an 06 accord lx California model. Is there any cost effective catalytic converter replacement? I heard the exemption is not longer allowed as of Aug 2023.
If it’s an SULEV unfortunately no. It’s has to be OEM.
Hi, good information. I have a prius 3 gen 2015 since new, cat never stolen, never replaced and it doesn't have those coolant lines at all. Just resonator, cat 1 an 2 and o2 sensor. Why?
Interesting. I w never seen a Gen 3 car delivered with any other configuration, regardless of the state it sold in. It’s possible you can’t see the lines, they’re on top.
@@mufflertech Thanks for responding. No, my friend, they are not on top. I already installed a cat shield, and there are no coolant lines anywhere. In fact i had to adapt the shield in order to install it. My Prius was made in Japan, and I bought it in Mexico. I live in Florida.
@@ClaudiaDeIcazawell a non US spec car could explain the difference.
How much does it cost to get it fix if they just cut thru it?
It depends on how severe it is. We do free estimates.
Original GT one 5.1 still sounds better. Spend the extra to get the original
Thanks for the input. I don’t believe the GT one is available in titanium and I also don’t think it’s made any longer.
Doesn’t the cat do cat things and keep the cars ecu happy? Whether it has a sticker on it or not?? I get you are trying to get business for your shop but the eBay cat will work it’s a direct replacement just because you cross state lines the car doesn’t stop working.
You’re missing the point. This is a video that applies to California and the other states that have adopted our rules. Just because a cat solves what the ECU is looking for doesn’t mean it has the correct certification to pass a visual test. Furthermore, the reason that the eBay and cheaper parts are less money is because they have less precious metal in them, they may keep the light off initially, but they will fall off their conversion rate much faster and will need to be replaced a lot sooner.
Just be prepared to have everyone look at you as you drive by lol.
1999 accord original cat stolen from my work parking lot. I work at a freaking hospital. Thieves suck.

Hi, can I ask some questions about my 2014 toyota prius plug-in ( ZVW35L - BHXEBA ) 1) Can I install the catalytic converter part number 17410-37300 to my car? 2) Can I install the oxygen sensor part number 89465-47080 to my car? What is the difference between the part number below? Catalytic converter 17410-37330 and 17410-37300 Oxygen sensor 89565-76010 and 89565-47080 Any help is appreciated Thank you
Will a p0420 code come from having a LEV cat on a SULEV accord 2.4. I bought a LEV cat version but came to find i have a p0420 not sure if i should just looking into getting the whole cat or just replace the downstream sensor. I already have a downstream sensor replaced a year ago or so
Yes. And a new downstream sensor will not fix it. LEV cats don’t have the same conversion rate and the car’s evaluation knows this.
California is a living hell of state.
Any system that stops the 'Bad Guys' is a worthy notion. Sad that the vehicle manufacturers couldn't figure that out, but they just sell cars. Can you imagine 5-10 years down the road how things will be? Military-grade weapons packages of some sort or other I suppose. Or. No vehicles. Sad isn't it?
I agree with you. It is however something manufacturers can’t forecast as cat theft is relatively new epidemic.
I never thought it was like that. So much work has to be done to get it looking like that. That’s some amazing sh!t
That thing is nonsense and should be bypassed! My car was overheating. We couldn't figure out why I replaced all the normal things and found out it was hitting a gooseneck at this level so we bypassed it and now it's running fine! I had to replace the engine so I wanted to make sure my engine didn't warp again because of this horrible, misguided, poorly imagined nightmare of a part!
It seems to me if you applied the shields, then the level one (welded rod and the bolts) wouldn't also be needed.
This video sucks. Just show if Gen 3 has protector or not.
Good think if the theft want to steal my catalytic Converter off my car, well am running catless, so they will be disappointed
Fantastic
I like what you guys do there
Great seeing the cutaway. Much different design than that of the C5/C6 version.
Thanks, and thanks for watching!

Wouldn’t it technically be possible to weld in a CARB legal/compliant cat, in place of the stolen 2nd cat “assembly”? I forget about what entails the legality of such a “modification” or “fix” would turn out like…
I have a 5th gen Camaro SS with and without the factory NPP exhaust option. I’ve had friends do the “fuse pull” method, which leaves the valve open full time; which is good, if you want the exhaust as loud as possible all the time. However, I also thought the factory vacuum actuated system was too quiet for my taste. I ended up getting a ‘Mild 2 Wild’ electronic control system wired up, so that I could open the valves with a controller.
