Some years ago I fell on the ice covered stairs and when I fell I hit my head and my left side on the stairs so that the air was knocked out of my lungs and I couldn't breathe and I lost consciousness, I only remember how I walked along a very bright corridor towards the gate where I was told that it wasn't my time yet and I woke up in pain and to the fact that I gasped for breath because two people who had seen me fall had been able to lift me up from the stairs and one of those who lifted me hit my back with his palm and shouted breathe breathe.

There’s a line in Sunset Boulevard “we don’t need dialogue; we had faces!” Pitt and Forlani are perfect examples of superb acting jobs. They were all wonderful.

Them looking at the fireworks... it's like Joe finally sees what people see in life - life is a beautiful spark. He has trouble letting go, the way his patients usually do. He finally understands and the old man helps him turn around. And those stairs are like the stairway to heaven. Everything about this movie is art.

In the original "Death Takes a Holiday" (1934)-she goes with him. She always saw him as he really was. She loved him, and she wasn't afraid. Brad Pitt was stunningly beautiful in Meet Joe Black.

Engaging Storyline. Great acting. But the true reality of life, death and the possibility of a future ressurection as promised in the BOOK is a lot more comforting.
