THE DOLOMITES: The Best Easy to Moderate Hikes in the Italian Alps!
The Dolomites in Italy, the Italian Alps, are some of the most beautiful and majestic mountains we’ve ever seen. While it’s popular to go on multiday treks in the summer and to engage in snow sports in the winter (as one of the sites of the 2026 Winter Olympics), Cortina d’Ampezzo makes a great base to explore these wonderful mountains with easy to moderate day hikes in the fall! In this video, we bring you along as we enjoy some of our favorite spots in a week that we spent in these amazing mountains. Note that since we do work and travel simultaneously, most of these hikes were not full-day hikes (most were a few hours up to half a day), so you could conceivably combine some of these hi...

    Hi, we planning to take our parents ( dad is slow in walking ), my 1 year old baby to Kazbegi in September 2024. Planning to take a private tour and would like to stay in Kazbegi if not the day tour will be too tiring for the old folks. I noticed you stayed for 3 nights. I was thinking of 1 night, would that be too rush? I am not sure with we can do much trekking and an infant. So was just thinking of 1 night. How did u get to Kazbegi? did you guys drive?

      @ChensofaLifetime День назад

      With mobility limitations, one day could be enough, but it depends a lot on weather conditions. The only time we saw the mountain without clouds was the first day that we got there, so with only one night, it may be a bit of a gamble whether or not you're able to see the iconic view. For more on how we got to Kazbegi, see our previous video (in short, we used gotrip.ge)! Have a great time!

      @ChensofaLifetime Месяц назад

      The road and driver from Zugdidi to Messiah were decent during our trip, but I think it really depends on weather and road conditions. It's a tricky yet well worn path, so it shouldn't give you too much trouble. If you're concerned about the bumpiness, you could consider hiring a shared taxi (passenger car) with other travelers that are headed the same direction. It would only cost a little bit more, and people are regularly headed in that direction! Have an amazing time!

      Wonderful! You'll have an amazing time! We did shop around online before booking. We went on Voyager Balloons, but the service and prices for all the companies in the area are comparable. Whichever one you choose, I'd definitely recommend booking in advance, as we were turned away by several companies when we tried to book a few weeks before our intended flight date. You can prepare to spend upwards of $200 per person, depending on what class of service (how many people are with you in the balloon) and what length of flight you choose. A once in a lifetime treat for sure!!! Have an amazing time!

      I think if you're doing a lot of trekking, a backpack is definitely nice, but it wouldn't be difficult to get around Mestia with suitcase either. Do note that outside of Mestia, the roads are not nearly as paved, so a backpack could be more convenient if you're planning to stay overnight in some villages! Hope you have a great time there!
