I met Harrison Ford when he was filming the scene where he rented the basement apartment! It took them two days to film! I was headed home from school, when I saw all the movie trailers on the block. I saw him standing by a table with a coffee machine on it. I walked up to him from behind, then tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned around.....I shook his hand. That's about it. No pic or autograph. After I left, that's when the rest of the onlookers swarmed him. Sorry, Mr. Ford! 😝

The body was not actually buried next to the stone. The stone is just a marker. The body was actually buried by a tree just beside the fenced graves. The original 2 markers were removed by government officials as well as 3 noticeable holes that were drilled to extract metal that was detected from the actual grave as well. I was just there yesterday. There is now a statue and monument across the highway where the old bar was that celebrates the history of the crash and burial.

My family and I have been here a few times. We were just here recently when we went to a Christmas market in Aurora. We stopped here for dinner, and the food is absolutely delicious! The chicken is out of this world! They give you side dishes they call relishes, which consist of kidney bean salad, coleslaw, beets, corn fritters, and cottage cheese. You can practically make a meal out of the relishes! The corn fritters are to die for! Before we leave, we always get two dozen fritters to take home. If you in or near Romeoville and want a good place to eat, White Fence Farm is the place!

The Thompson Center was the setting of the final encounter in Running Scared (1986) with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines....which coincidentally also stars Joey Pants!! Cook County Hospital is also where the series ER was filmed. Pullman: Dennis DeYoung and John and Chuck Panozzo of STYX grew up in the neighboring community of Roseland.

(You didn't name the cross streets!) Men Only Hotel on Clark and ??? Green Bay Ave... was that around 83rd street? Or further south? How far away was the thrift store on Commercial from the Green Bay location? I know the streets are 8 block apart east to west, but how far north and south? 90th and Houston is right there too!

My neighbor was a grip on the movie Mark Matthews he and his brothers still out of Chicago anyhow because they work a lot at night. The wheel fell off the lawnmower and I helped fix it for his wife so he gave me Harrison Ford autograph it was on a 3M post that had notes on the other side you know grip noteswhat do you think that would be worth

Great movie. I knew an extra who was in it for like two seconds lol. The ONLY thing I called bullsh*t on was that ''good samaritan" scene. A LADY driver picks up a STRANGER on the street, and at NIGHT no less? I know you're supposed to suspend disbelief in movies, but that was a bit much lol.

It would have been fun to have the cta find car #2224, where he knocks out Sykes. It was brand new then so it's probably still in use.

Grew up with that pizza, still get it every summer when i'am back visiting family, best in Ashburn, if not the whole southwest side! My grandparents lived a block away..

I lived in Cedar Rapids from 1987-1993 (age 9 to 15). I recently went back about three weeks ago for the first time in 30 years to visit the homes that my Mom and I lived in during that time period. It's incredible how much has changed, but it was a wonderful time to reconnect to such a monumental part of my childhood. But the shell that is now Westdale Mall; yeah that one hurt lol Funny how you mentioned listening to old 80's tunes while you were there. I did the exact same thing lmao. Great video :)

As a lifelong car nut, this video was something that I really enjoyed. If I ever get in the area I will definitely visit this museum.

Hi. 14:00 - You got the hospital (interior) wrong. ALL the interiors were built in a closed Chicago Public School in either Woodlawn or Pullman - utilized for various other office scenes. I was 19 then, and a extra, and I'm looking all over for the exact location, can't find it. It was used as a School again 2 years later for this Sidney Poiter TV film "To Sir With Love II". Maybe some other 90s films too. Been Curious what they did with the school. Don't live in Chicago anymore, but totally miss 10% of it.
