heard this song in along came polly. got into the raconteurs, and I discovered b.b. did this song thanks to you tube. very cool way to get into new music.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah I've always been this way Never known any other way to feel Got the right of way And all of the others must yield Now I'm naked And I'm in school I can't make it To the door Yeah Try to understand That an oyster can only make a pearl From a grain of sand But from what I don't know makes a girl Well I'm trying Not to laugh It's that I'm dying When we break (when we break) apart And you take (And you take) back your heart (back your heart) And it aches in the dark But it makes a tiny spark I've always been this way Never known any other way to feel Got the right of way And all the others must yield Now I'm naked And I'm in school L can't make it To the door And we're lying in the grass I was trying oh not to laugh I was drowning in the past
Yeah listen to his song Spit It Out, which is faster but got those nice chord progressions with a catchy melody on top. Also, check his band The Raconteurs. You can always hear when it's Brendan :)
love the dude with the floppy brown hair in the green shirt. had to watch the end of this video a lot for a project, and him pecking Benson on the cheek has probably added like 5 years to my life
Just an amazing tune. I'm proud to say I discovered this even before Polly or whatever. I've been saying for years that McCartney would kill to come with a tune like this, nowadays. Must add that I dig this video. It evokes the feel of the indie 90's (Pavement, Archers, etc) in a charming way. Fantastic stuff!
World's Greatest Dad is a good movie, but it'd be better with a different ending: like, he doesn't tell everyone he wrote the diary. Oops, sorry for the spoiler if you haven't seen it, but the ending is kinda stupid.
why is this the first time I'm herin this-this should be all over the charts-it rox!!! our system sux and plays music that sux,, I met one of billy idols girlfriends-she told me,, the reason the rock stations don't play his music is he refuses to pay to have his stuff played-fuck the system, the best is always hidden-you guys rock forever
this is my name Tiny Sparks
What a fucking great song. I *had* to learn the lyrics to this one.
Who is the guy in the bright green t shirt?
This song is being 20 and driving around with friends, scoping out ladies, playing catch, and drinking beers feels all day.
🔥
Along Came........Polly
Yeah
How such a pop masterpiece ever came to be inextricably linked with such a banal, mediocre film is a mystery. Still, the song’s wonderful.
They know how to grow them in detroit. Wink wink ooh la la. What a cutie and talented too.
I love this song. I feel Spiderman, Batman and Flash Gordon when I hear it.
No sign of the genius Jason Falkner who co wrote it and co sung

This song, like so many of his others, is GOODER THAN A BITCH!!
Brendan Benson = Mac Demarco mid 2000's
World's Greatest Dad is a good movie, but it'd be better with a different ending: like, he doesn't tell everyone he wrote the diary. Oops, sorry for the spoiler if you haven't seen it, but the ending is kinda stupid.

The twin geniuses of Brendan Benson and Jason Falkner

World's greatest Dad brought me here.
Amazing, it's the "World greatest dad" that brought me here too!!!
Quentin Just got done watching World's Greatest Dad on Netflix and immediately came here. Great song!
David Rybaczewski Jason Falkner from "Jellyfish" co-wrote this song. They are another great band that hardly nobody knows of.

Just a classic song.
Love him.
