Panaracer Gravelking AC tyre review
20 years of using tire liners, ..I've never had a flat.
😎🏞️
India is a country filled with shit slinging jungle monkeys
You make great points with expert opinions - I wish all reviews were similar. Thank you for the video.
Nice CCC water bottle
Does it rub your inner leg ?
No this is quite small and doesn't extend beyond any of my 4 saddles
It does come in larger sizes too. I can't vouch for those
I learned something. I thought my stem was flat.
A good tire liner works, end of story. Try Mr Tuffy, not a single puncture
Finally! One video that really helps! Thanks 🙏
puncture resistant tires dont stop goatheads, nor does green slime. tire liners where the only thing that worked.
Is it easy to convert gear cycle in single speed??
The complexity depends on the kind of dropouts you have. If you have short or vertical dropouts it's better to use a chain tensioner device 1. Remove derailleur and cassette. 2. Install a single-speed conversion kit (spacer, cog). 3. Shorten chain to fit new gearing. 4. Adjust chain tension with a tensioner (if needed). 5. Remove shifters and cables. 6. Test ride and adjust as necessary.
Sir could u plz answer one more thing...should I continue pedalling while shifting gear or I should stop pedalling while changing gear@@GearLama
You have to peak while shifting gears BUT you don't apply force toll the new cog is engaged. The thing is gear won't shift if the chain doesn't move so pedalling is a must. The trick is avoiding using force on the pedals at the time of shift. It sounds difficult but it' comes naturally to most
I love MKS pedals, but do not like the text-to-speech glitches in the video. They deserve a real person speaking.
Duly noted. Thank you for your feedback
I have 3 Sylvan Gordito with half clip with leather; very happy with them.
Paid fanboy content. Two thumbs down!
Paid no. Fanboy yes. I'm a big fan of MKS pedals given their legacy, design, engineering and what they bring to the table. it's easy to be an armchair expert and criticise, would be harder to point out one other company that has such a profound impact on bicycle pedals. Cheers and have a great day.
Can you mention the weight of the smanie drs sport saddle? BOTS support isnt being helpful, and it has another more expensive with chromoly rails, and no mention of weight anywhere...
313 grams on my scales of truth. You can find information about all Smanie saddles with weight and recommendations on my blog blog.gearlama.com/2024-05-25-a-comprehensive-guide-to-smanie-saddles/
Shooot, thanks brother, didn't know I can flip my stem to get more potential aerodynamic gains!!! Was about to buy a new stem 😬😬
Okay I didn't flip the stem upside down, didn't want to again, deal with that annoying realignment of drop bars positions! Instead, dropped the spacers by 5mm, hope to find myself more comfortable! Recently dropped 10mm of spacers, really comfy now and even helped to reduce the bizzare neck pains!!!
@bakedpotato8602 haha I can totally relate to the bars. It takes me about 3-4 days to get them just right. There initial days I ride without bartape ( as brifters need to move etc) and with a Y allen key in my jersey pocket 😁
Vale la pena comprar una bici de este estilo?
Depends on your needs. I think the nicasio and the plus offers excellent value for people who ride to explore / have fun. Not the best for competitive riding
Hola! Como estas buenosndias, primero gracias! Por la pronta respuesta y bueno en realidad la quiero para viajar, la ruta seria mixta, entre ruta y tierra(gravel) y veria si se puede adaptar una suspension delantera.
Hola! I think you should definitely consider the nicasio+ it offers wider tyres ( more comfirt and grip) and a simple to use 1x drivetrain. I think it will suit your needs quite well. The only flaw in the nicasio and most cheaper Marin bikes has been the quality of wheels but that's something worth upgrading after a few trips
Muchas gracias!! Hermano por tu tiempo, veremos que decido . Abrazo sdos
I have quick release but the problem is that when i do wheelie after that my tyre drops down and QR get loosen then i decided change it i found a axle in my garage but that is different from this axle could i change that if can then please make a video on this ❤
If by axle you mean a bolt on axle then no. If you mean a QR skewer then yes. OLD ( over lock nut) distance for the front hub is 100mm ( for non boost spacing) QR skewers are not expensive gearlama.com/search?q=QR+skewer+front
is it normal if water comes out when pointing down while not squeezing the bottle?
No that's not.ok if your bite valve is locked (down position towards the bottle)
Thank you. For real this was needed
What do you mean not interchangeable? I’m using Ta hubs with my QR frame using adapters
Yes you can always use an adapter to convert between a TA and a QR. But then you lose the advantages of a TA - rigidity, flex, secure, alignment. So I do not see the point of such a conversion unless your hub is just not available in a TA or QR version. This is what I mean by interchangeable. Can you convert a QR frame to accept TA. NO. Can you simply "make it work" yes
But no Strava no happen
Which suits best for Fitnessn, commuting , weekly trip for 100 kms from Smanie brand saddle .
Saddles are personal so what works for one person may not work for the other. That being said I wrote a detailed blog post on this comparing all available Smanie Saddles here blog.gearlama.com/2024-05-25-a-comprehensive-guide-to-smanie-saddles/ I think you should look at the EX or the delta sport
Thanks, good video ! I think I'm going to get this one as well as the blue one
Glad I could help
isn’t it a bit heavy?
Yes they are. Not geared towards the sport market. These are more of commuter / city / touring specific pedals
@@GearLama Oh i see. thank you for answer
I flipped my stem cause i saw this but my stem didn't say any angle but im guessing it is 7 degree.
Manufacturer website may have that data. But the most common angle is 7-9 degs
I've been using EF 202 for more than 2 years. IMOP only disadvantage of 202 is it's crazy weight. It's more than gripy than you can image of a pedal without screws on it. And it's so cheap. Don't even need to consider it's robustness, if you try to destory your entire bike, i belive the pair of 202 will still last and working smoothly. Was a crazy fan of MKS pedals especially MKS-touring, but now 202 is my go to pedal now.
I still find the MKS MT LIte excellent for the city / slightly rougher tours where you need more grip. Same price. Give them a shot
@@GearLama True, i like mks MT-E and sibling AR-2. Even better than Mks Touring. It's already for me to become muscle memory to flip the padel, just like I use clipless. But i have multi bikes and usually i will let others to ride one of them, i find most of people cannot flip it and much worse they cannot even tell they are pedalling on the wrong side. So i have to check some flat padels. And i have my own to go bike (not let any other to ride due to seat post already stuck at my perfect height and i have no reason to solve the problem now) i still very happy to use shimano T8000 dual function pedals. i will say the flap side is the best among all shimano flats, but it's much expensive. i won't feel dual pedal with flat and spd are good idea because actually stack height is different for both sides so you will have to change sadle height everytime, not really worth the seconds to do that.
@@GearLama BTW MT-E is much lighter than 202, yes it's perfect if you use the bike all by yourself and it's not a fixie.
you can say that again, my cheap plastic pedals are like 236 grams a pair, somehow one side started to get sticky, been looking for a non screw flat pedal replacement, found this one, but those 500+ grams are hard to swallow.
Hey GearLama! Writing to you from Canada. Found this review just after I picked the bike up, and loved the upgrade suggestions! The 11-34t cassette was an awesome idea and definitely way better suited to the bike.
Super! I'm happy you found it helpful. This bike is a sleeper bike. A well kept secret. With the right upgrades it makes for an epic touring rig
upright and comfy i like.
That's brilliant.
Just thinking about slamming the stem makes my neck, back and shoulders hurt. LOL
Second sensible channel i saw after i bought Raleigh terrain 30 24 speed.... But now looking for upgrade to Scott,,. May be a aspect 930 or a sub cross 30. I want fast & best rolling...
If you're looking for something fast try a non suspension front fork ala scott metrix / bergamont sweep
@@GearLama thank you so much 🤗🤗. My retailer recently suggested Bergamont sweep 3/4., REALLY LIKING this bike but seems committed lean forward race geometry. ..but i am slightly inclined for Marine Muir Woods as well... Would like to go with best components & a versatile cycle... 😊😊 Regards 💐💐💐💐💐
awesome review. thank you.
👍🏾
I got one. It arrived last week. Thank you again. Great recommendation.
Specialized Pathfinder...
Nice review, greeting form Indonesia
excelllent review and very helpful remarks. good job - thank you!
I own a Clovis 3.10 and I have a question
Yes...
Thanks a lot. You just summarised the Scott Aspect 930 for me 👌
the kind of info GCN should be uploading, but hey who would want to talk about saddle shape when there's hot new tech and 20 thousand dollar bike for testride and "journaling"?
ha! Its a question of priorities i guess. Its a question i come often especially from cyclists just getting into the sport...
frame is protected from rust?
Most steel bikes including the Nicasio come with an ED coating on the inside to protect it from rust
fantastic explanation of saddle types! I look forwards to your next video
Thanks!
Unfortunately I have bad shoulders and hips so I'm trying to raise my bars and reduce my reach
Im sorry to hear that but it hsouldnt keep you from enjoying your bike. Set up a higher stack, if your current fork doesnt have a long steerer tube - Indian custom bike manufacturers like Scolarian or Intent bikes can make a new steel fork for you. That way you have a much more upright position. add a shorter stem and a short drop drop bars and it should bring new life to your rides
Very well described. Thank you.
Looking forward to the next video. I still have the saddle that came on my bike. It's ok, but I don't think it's ideal for longer rides.
After a few kilometres start to click. Bearings ridiculously difficult to service. If you somehow repack the grease and put bearings back in, you need a special (expensive!!!) tool to adjust them. Don't buy it!
A cone wrench and needle nose pliers work just fine
though they are not interchangable but can we convert quick release to thru axle with help of adding extra acessories to the frame Actually i saw some videos on youtube about it but i donno if those accessories are available in indian market.so i asked if u know abt it
Yes there are solutions available they are mostly for the hubs. Usually a process of downgrading the hub from a TA to a QR using an internal shim. Since QR is narrow than TA. But really on something as critical as tyre locking systems I'd rather stick to the OEM frame specs. Unless you have a wheel hub frame mismatch.
Great and very informative. Eagerly waiting for the next video.
How can I elevate headset?
1. Use more spacers if you have a taller headtube 2. Flip the stem or get a stem with more riser ruclips.net/video/UHdQnXLm09s/видео.htmlsi=OyAPjmFgym2JOzvM
@@GearLama thanks
Thank you. What about leather saddles ?
Leather saddles don't fit in this categorisation since they're basically hammocks slung between two rigid metal holds. The way they are built and support you is different. Hence I didn't include them in this comparison. Probably requires a full video on just leather/brooks saddle
Welcome Back :)
Thank you! Trying to concentrate on YT videos this year
@@GearLama Happy to know that 😍
