I have taken on many projects throughout the years, from building cars, trucks, motorcycles, atvs and dirtbikes. I decided to start sharing my experiences along with how-to in maintenance, repairs and rebuilds. All this is done on a modest working man's budget. I am not an expert or certified on anything, more of a jack of all trades. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching.

Ford Edge BRAKE BOOSTER with INTERMITTENT ISSUES
Просмотров 166Месяц назад
Ford edge is having intermittent braking issues. Which is pretty unheard of, but it's true. Seems when you hit the brakes and a pothole bump at the same time the brake pedal becomes hard and goes to the floor. Best example is like brakes without vacuum. My diagnosis is a bad diaphram or check valve in the brake booster. I'll show you how i replace it. Thank you for watching and subscribing. Par...

HONDA 250X Ever See a Flat Lobe on an ATV Cam? pt. 1
Thanks for posting this video. I have a DF125GKS go cart. I knew there was a chain but I had not looked at the other side to see just how many bolts and how big the rotor is. I know those magnets can be pretty strong at times. The issue that I am having is when I pull the plug, that rotation is very strong. When I put the plug back in or check for compression, it barely turns over. So I am guessing the starter is about gone. Does this sound right to you or anyone that follows your channel?
It is difficult to diagnose without being hands-on, but maybe I can help with some ideas. Healthy fully charged battery? Correct spark plug? Check for spark? Fresh gasoline? Clean carb? No issues with safety features like brake switch, kill switch, etc. that prevent start? Try to crank over without throttle and just the choke on. These engines, when cold, don't like to compress too much fuel and air until warmed up, which could be the slow crank. Try these steps, and check for loose wire connections, too. Fun but poor build quality. Hopefully, you find a solution, and if not, then perhaps I'd blame a weak starter. Long winded reply, and I appreciate you watching and subscribing. Good luck.
Great Job! This helped me out a lot replacing mine.
That's awesome to hear. Honda did a nice job on the design, which helps us on the maintenance side. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching and subscribing.
If it fits, it ships! Great video!
Thank you.
Should the starter gear turn freely when power isn’t sent to it? I just got a new one and it doesn’t spin by hand but when I give it 12v it does. Wondering if I got a bad one before I start taking it apart.
Watch O6:35. The starter should spin without 12v.
@ thanks! I did see that which was what made me question the starter I have. Already requested a new one from Amazon.
What mm is the nibbi?
19mm
great video bro🎉
Awesome to hear! Thank you for watching.
Enjoying the video!
Great! Thank you for watching.
😂😂
Thanks for watching.
Does the starter chain not need the timing marks 🤔 just curious i know that there is also a timing chain so maybe since its just starter chain it dosnt need it
No timing needed for the starter. Just be sure the chain is properly on the gears. Thank you for watching.
May want to consider getting the offset intake manifold. Its not necessary obviously, but its way bigger to match the size of the carburetor and you'd pick up some decent power/torque as well
Would there be enough room? These atvs really have some limited space between the engine and frame. 1 more mod I was thinking is a fresh air tube/snorkel shooting into the airbox. 🤷🏻♂️ I can say the bike has been its most reliable with this setup. Thanks for watching, my friend.
Thanks for watching & subscribing.
Haha gotta take it easy on the brakleen.
Slept great, though. 😆
@NOURSEPOWER 😂😂
What happens if you don’t reset it?
Your brake lights will stay on.
If i use one type of grit and sand it with water i dont want to sand it and it look worse than it was
I don't know the condition of your plastics. You can start with a higher grit in a small area around where maybe you boot is to see how it's going to go. I understand being cautious, but wet sanding plastic is not like when wet sanding a painted item. I hope things work out for what you're looking for. Thank you for reaching out.
Also the sanding is to clean and smooth out the roughness. The heat brings out the gloss. Throughout the steps they'll look cleaner, smoother and dull. Then, brighten back out with heat. Then I toss on the shine protectant to really brighten her up and help condition the plastics too
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for watching.
how's the air box holding up?
Surprisingly, very well. The Nibbi carb is doing great also. Honestly, this atv is running and riding better than new. It took some time and work to iron out its flaws but has since earned my trust. Thank you for reaching out.
@@NOURSEPOWER I just picked up one of those ATV's for free, but it needs work. Looks like new wiring, throttle and brake controls, and fuel system for sure.
@brich2929 awesome. Plenty of good websites for parts outside of ebay and amazon. One i like is Vmcchineseparts.com
Where did you get the new carb from ?
Ebay Honda Trx 250x carb est.$40. Seems to be doing well.
Thanks. My brakes are braking again 😊
You're welcome 😊. Thanks for watching
How fast is with the upgrade
do you have a link to jet sizing kit you used?
I'm using the jets that came with the Nibbi carb.
Hahaha love you guys.
Thanks for watching ❤️
"I've done this a time or two" 😂
"Daddy likes a little extra protection. You live and learn that once". That's crazyyy 😂😂😂😂
I love he agrees but really didn't understand. 😆 Always fun sharing with the next gen. Thank you for watching.
The first number is the cold temp viscosity. It’s got nothing to do with the second (hot temp viscosity number, they are different units). Zero will be fine, 5 will be fine, doesn’t make much of a difference unless you get really cold weather.
I agree on it being a very minor adjustment. As mileage goes up, I may fully go 5w to keep that oil where it needs to protect. Longevity is more important to me than mpg and emissions. Thanks for reaching out and watching.
Unless you're an engineer, you really shouldn't be playing with stuff like this. Just follow the specs. I'm a mechanic. I've seen what happens when people arbitrarily decide to go their own way. If, for some reason, you can't trust the manufacturer's specs, buy a different truck. This ain't the 70s anymore.
Valid points made. Def far from the 70's when tossing in some 20w cleared up some symptoms. 😆 Thanks for reaching out and watching.
0w is just for the tighter tolerances in the newer engines, but the ratio that you added to it with the 5w wouldn’t hurt it. Just like adding a quart or 2 of synthetic to conventional oil for its detergent qualities.
It’s not for tolerances it’s for fuel economy and emissions, thinner weight easier to spin. It does cut down on longevity
Engines are def built with tighter tolerances vs earlier generations. But, I do feel manufactures are forced to make mpg and emissions over longevity. If it breaks, come on in a buy a new one. It's got shinier buttons. 😆 Thanks for reaching out and watching.
Fricken Lance. 🤭
40w.... smh
Thank you for the great video. This is the absolute best video that is clear on what to do and how to do it. I have watched several other videos could not understand what they were saying and the camera was shaky and blurry lol
Wow! Thank you, my friend. This quad tossed me for a loop with some maintenance work. Some things are like over complicated, like tightening the chain. Please keep an eye on the hardware backing off. Smh. Thank you for watching and reaching out.
@@NOURSEPOWER we have the exact same one. Just an absolute huge heads up swap the air intake in the carburetor and you'll get a lot better use out of it. Sounds like a pissed off lawn mower. You're welcome brother and thanks again saved me a headache
i replaced the original air filter, it does sound like a pissed off lawnmower indeed, sounds better, and seems to have more of a response time
@LostredneckinTX awesome! Not to bad of bikes, you just need to work out the kinks. Thanks for watching
Looks like you wore Cole out! Nice butt shot at the beginning. lmao Great job guys! <3
It was a very humid, hot day. My guy stuck it out, though. Thank you for watching.
That was so fun. I love you guys.
It was fun, I look forward to working on more with him. ❤️ thanks for watching.
Witch tie rod i need to buy?
I'm not 100% what you're asking. Purchase tie rods for your year, make, and model. I suggest staying away from the cheap ones. Thank you for watching.
Haha love your face 😘
I’m curious can you replace out the ball joints on a 2002 Trx 300ex?
I'm not 100%, but I believe they can be pressed out, but are the parts available? I'd have to look into that. I haven't done this yet, but guys have cut them off, drilled out the hole in the a-arm, and added a bolt on adjustable heim joint. Might be something to look into or just drop the 💰 on aftermarket a-arms. If I ever need to do this, I'll make a video. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
2 days ago, nice. I'm re-checking all the work I've done on my 1990 S10 and now back at the drums to make sure I did everything right. I noticed although my brakes did work, I had to push the pedal down quite a ways for them to actually stop. I tightened the drums up a few clicks and that was enough for them to engage earlier in the brake pedal travel and they're tighter too. I just needed to know how it should feel by hand when you spun it after adjusting. Also it gets slightly tough to spin in one section of the drum but frees up the rest of the way, so I'm guessing slightly warped new drums? Oh well, lol. Some folks say it needs to be free enough to spin it easily with one hand, others said a little resistance to pushing it, so yeah. Good video!
I'm really happy to hear. I prefer a positive brake pedal over .7 mpg 😉. If you have a slight grab, possible a poorly cut drum if all is installed correctly. Perhaps back off a click or so to try to find a happy medium. 🤷🏻♂️ Thank you very much for reaching out and watching. 🤘😄
The voice over sounded great. Glad you did a good job and didn't put the s10 in someone's livingroom lol.
Thanks, I was hoping it would come together pretty decent. Thank you for watching.
Wow you work really fast 😉
Monster kicked in! 😆
That kid grew up real fast!
Yep, I love it when he comes to help with some stuff in the shop. He's pretty comfortable in front of the camera.
LMAO! Neighbors car... To hard, let a friend do it! lol... Interesting and informative with a little humor, great job! Oh and great intro by Cole!
Aww, both my guys. 🖤 love you both.
He did a really great job! I'm looking forward to him jumping in more in the future. ❤️

Yep, struggles were had, but mission completed. Thank you for watching.
Great video. Thank you

Let me know if I should hire the guy who removed the plastics. 😂
He's nice, eye candy!
I swear that's the same jar of anti seize since we bought our house in 2007!
@RachelPower-qn4pl a little smear goes a looong ways. If it actually lasted that long it would come with a loan application 🙃
I don't know, he had a little bit of attitude there at first! lol
@jackiemattox2715 that's a new guy.... thinking they know it all. 🤷🏻♂️
Geat video!
Thanks
Just tried this. My throttle cable is too long. Did you have to change yours? Ran out of adjustment
Yes, it was. I remember I noticed after I recorded. I used a part of a bicycle brake part as a spacer. It's hard for me to describe. It's the metal sleeve usually on the end of the plastic part of a brake cable. I put it in between the throttle cable end and the throttle slide cap of the carb. It's basically inside the rubber sleeve thats attached to the cap.. Just make sure it's going to pull out the slack and not get stuck in any way, causing the throttle to not close all the way. I hope I'm not confusing you, too much. This has been working for me. Hope this helps you figure it out. Thank you for watching.
I did this to mine and it’s dumping to much gas ?
I tuned the carb lean- pilot, needle & main to counter the homemade air box. Still slightly on the fat side with the provided jets, but runs better than previous setup. My favorite part is the bike starts right up. That was always my nightmare from out the box with this thing. If I come up with something else I'll make an update. Thanks for watching.
Do you think decals will stick to these plastics well? In the process now but I don’t want to waste the decals if they won’t stick to restored plastic
After the process, I cleaned the area where the decals were going to go with some auto paint prep cleaner or like a windex without alcohol. Then, I applied the decals. Mine are still holding up just fine, and they're cheap replica decals. I hope your works out, too. Thanks for watching.
