Wonderful performance 💜
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!
As usual, great performance and intro explanations. Also, a fabulously chosen dress with the firebird scheme…..
Thank you so much! 🙏 I'm glad you liked the dress 😊
What a treat! Thank you!
Thank you for listening! ❤️
Just saw you in concert yesterday in Montana - enjoyed it immensely! So excited to find your channel and listen to more!
Thank you 🙏 🎹- so great to hear!
Wow, top level instruction. Very helpful, thank you so much!
Brava!
Thank you Sonya!! Gorgeous!
Great presentation and performance! Loved it! ❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for listening!
BRAVO !
You have made great progress with the sound balance in the video. WELL DONE !
Thank you very much!
One of the greatest sources of beauty on the internet. Thank you for more beauty this day. ❤
I love this!
So lovely, so expressive. I was in the audience during this performance. I cannot believe how incredibly lucky we are in our area to be able to experience Sonya Ovrutsky performing LIVE! Each performance creates a fond memory for everybody I know who has attended her recitals (and talks beforehand)! Thank you!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Heavenly live performance.
A beautiful performance of Claire de Lune! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I’m in love. Thank you.
Fabulous! 👏🙏👏
👏👏👏
Отлично! Молодец, Соня. Спасибо большое. ❤❤❤
New piece to me. Beautiful music, and yes, had on my headphones. 🥰
Bravo!
This is a classic systems challenge - the system can only be as good as the weakest link. When the microphones meet your expectations, then finally your audience will be limited to the bandwidth available by their respective internet connections and end user IT setup (and if they have them, headphones, as we’ve discussed). Firm believer in the philosophy expounded by W. Edwards Deming that of constant, incremental improvement leads to superior results. Keep going.
Thank you!
haha
Sooooooo beautiful…..❤
Wonderful rendition - begs for more. Thank you.
Thank you so much @happyhome41 !! complete Rhapsody is here: ruclips.net/video/HpetXQ9wE98/видео.html
This polonaise is one of the more known in the world and a true masterpiece of Frederic Chopin . Not exist comparison with the garbage than is the music now.
Soooooo exciting!! Thanks Sonya!! It was great to be there in person too!!!
I’m really looking forward to your concert in Bedford on November 22nd!!!
Insane!
Bravo Sonya! Spectacular!

My pianist greatly prefers I place microphones close. The recording sounds most like it does for her while playing, and it is cleanest with least room reverberation to muddy the sound (when reflective walls are much closer than in a performance hall). I also try to match the distance from mic to soundboard for both microphones. If reverberation is desired, it can be added in mastering.
You totally make this come alive! The sound quality (had you changed the positions of the mics for this particular performance?) enhances the feelings of unbridled… everything!!! Really exciting, Sonya! Thank you!
Yes. It IS a different experience to hear it with the mics in the piano! Very different sound. I love the new composition too.
Im learning this piece right now and your take on it is just so clean I wish I could play it like you do
Absolutely fantastic. My favorite piece of all time
The second one! 😊
Both sound good. Inside the piano is very powerful and seems to have more dynamic range but with the precaution of being careful with the bass as you said.
It sounds good! Believe me!
It sounds as if you wear a lapel mic for voice, and that has always been clear. Your beautiful playing should be just as clear, with high dynamic range for those soft notes without clipping the fortissimo. Please keep trying -- so many other musicians, not nearly as good as you -- have this mastered -- maybe you ask them ?
Fabulous artistry! And I couldn't ask for a better ending to this piece! It is priceless!
I loved all the background info on George Gershwin and his Ukraine/Russian roots. I get the feeling that he had much more in him to produce additional great works. One that I love is Summertime. You are absolutely fabulous in this performance. Rhapsody in Blue just cries out its greatness as do you!
As usual the youtube rendition has more power and emotion than any of the professional labels. Amazing performance!
I agree!
Sonya, you are awarded The Million Roses Award... 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 A Million Roses! And a Million more, but you deserve even more for this cosmic masterpiece! - The Firebird (L'Oiseau de Feu): Danse infernale, Berceuse et Finale, performed by Sonya Ovrutsky Fensome, a genuine piano virtuosa.
Listened to this several times. Incredibly difficult piece played extremely well! You make the firebird come alive... almost like a fire-breathing dragon! Dazzling and mesmerizing! This qualifies for the Million Roses award 🌹
Listened again multiple times. I can't believe this piece is a little less than 3 minutes in length, because it feels like a much longer piece, it is so majestic. What genius, what unbelievable talent to compose such a piece. And I love your skillful playing, it is breathtaking to behold! How fortunate your students are to have you as their teacher for this piece!
Great series of very different preludes, Your favorite No. 24 in D Minor, Allegretto (11:51), is a short but interesting prelude. Happy belated birthday!, March 2, the day Shostakovich composed No. 24.
J. S. Bach, Prelude in D minor from English Suite No. 6, BWV 811 (complete performance at 10:30) - Sonya Ovrutsky Fensome, piano.
Listened to you play this again. I absolutely loved it! I also loved your dignified straight back to match this dignified master prelude. This qualifies for The Million Roses Award!

Sonya, what a grand and noble concerto! This 1st Movement and the following 2nd and 3rd movements are a testament and monument to Sergei Rachmaninov! And you played them both to perfection, in my ears anyway. Like I said in my comments in the 2nd and 3rd movements video, this is now my favorite, i.e., I like C minor as a whole over G minor. It has thrown my world upside down. What a great introduction to the mind blowing 2nd and 3rd movements. How utterly magnificent!. This 1st movement also qualifies for the "Million Roses" award.
