@travellingyoginikas fortunately nothing of that nature in the forthcoming future, BUT, we have a storm approaching, bringing disruptive winds with it, !! We have weather warnings out for debris,trees, everything including fire & locusts(well maybe not the latter) but it's gonna be windy tomorrow am in North West England, batten down the hatches! What's the weather like there 🤔

@travellingyoginikas after today temperatures slowly rising fortunately, everything is bloody white over in frost, temperatures not been getting much above zero degrees C for quite a few days, pavement is bloody lethal underfoot, nightmare for older people, 😰 roll on spring 🙂👍

Ohhhhh David I always fear for the elderly in such weather conditions 😢 When my mum was alive I had anxiety about her going out in dangerous conditions. But she was able to reassure me that she would never venture out in icy conditions. I really don't know how u peeps manage the UK. It's been 2yrs since I last did a winter in the UK and never again. I hope it warms up there ASAP.

The local language of Goa is Konkani, and that language contains Portuguese words! The Christian and Hindu communities in Goa live peacefully. ❤ I love exploring Gos beyond the beaches 😊

For many it is too overwhelming, way too expensive and alot of it is about keeping up with the Jones's and being pressured to buy gifts they can't afford 🙈 Sadly it's the opposite of the traditional peace and joy at xmas. It's way too much hassle nowadays, esp when it's freezing outside. That's why I LOVE a beach christmas. Here in Gokarna there is no hint of christmas. So my next vlog is about introducing xmas in India with shopping and kids gifts whilst taking in the local festivities that dont actually relate to xmas. Let's just say that the vlog will be culturally blended!!!! 😊

@travellingyoginikas must be nice to see a better way to celebrate Christmas as you're doing Kas, here, it's always dark, cold, damp, bloody miserable time of year, so that doesn't help! It should just be for children, not buying gifts for anyone * everyone, its bloody crackers, secret santander etc...madness! I'm a bah humbug kinds guy 🤪😆😄👍

@@davidmarshall5596 oh yes agreed. Re the cold damp etc does not help matters. And alongside the cold and damp is the extortionate amount of gifts. I know what ya mean, forking out for a secret santa gift, a posh jewellery advent calendar and expensive gifts under the tree that are then sold on eBay on boxing day. It's a profitable farse in the West. Yes, it's much more relaxed in the East and i definitely make xmas just about the children. I spent under 20 quid during my whole xmas shopping trip!!!!! Jayashree won't care about what i spent, shes happy with what she receives. Ohhh bless her ❤

Oh wow David it's family time galore for u. Sounds AMAZING. Do you have the traditional roast? On xmas day I will watch Jayashree open her presents from Santa, go the beach and then spend time with Parvati in the evening and sample her xmas day cooking delights 😋 Also theres a shack on the beach that sells some xmas special sweets 😋 so I will DEFINITELY be going there 😆 Yesterday I started the xmas shopping for Jayashree's gifts and I actually got her everything she wanted from Santa! And also a surprise present and a lil gift from the grotto. 🎁❤

We always did the traditional xmas day in England re pressies in the morning, traditional lunch (albeit I had a nut roast and not Turkey). Then the tele and sweets in the evening. I loved it as a lil girl but now it's not my thing at all to celebrate xmas all day long. As a teenager I dreamed of spending xmas on a hot beach with limited traditions. Nowadays I love doing the Santa thing for Jayashree and going to the beach. But on an xmas day in Kerala i did nothing traditional. Re i went to a big city to see a temple!!!! I would have done at least one traditional thing tho re cmas dinner with friends but we were just coming out of lockdown so that was a no go as there were hardly any visitors to the country at that time. Dya celebrate new year David?

That is a very good question!!! The Mahadevi rock cut temple is off beat, but not too far from the other rock cut cave temple and the modern Shiva temple. They are both located in Arvelem at the waterfall. Arvelem. I think you should go there and enjoy Yash ❤

Oh no David re the upcoming cold weather! 🥶 Yes many people don't like it. When I went to the UK after spending 3 consecutive years in India the winter weather was a MASSIVE shock to the system 😮 I guess it's about taking life more easy and doing less now that the winter is setting in. And trying to look out of the window to see the daylight everyday if people are not venturing out as much. Oh yes absolutely lesson learnt. Re carry lots of water on these trips out!!!!! 💧

@@travellingyoginikas as human beings Kas the cold is something we don't like very much ,that's for sure!, I get out as much as I can on dry days, well wrapped up, rainy cold days I just stay inside & keep warm & dry & only go out if really necessary fortunately there's quite a few more dry cold days than we cold ones ,so that's my way of coping with the worse 4 months of the year 👍

@@davidmarshall5596 oh gosh yes no one should ever underestimate the difficulty of the winter. At times it can creep up on us of back of summer. So therefore the transition from summer days to winter is really hard. Yes ur deffo managing the winter very well. Re staying in when it's too wet but getting out and about when it's drier. The good news is that we can do our best to combat the winter blues. Re displaying fairy lights, lighting aromatic candles and soon enough adding the pine xmas tree to that sensory mix. Watching films on a cosy sofa and cooking up seasonal veg. Nature knows us well. Eg it provides oranges in the winter, and we need the oranges for our vit c to combat the winter chills. Hope u are managing ok David in the UK winter.

Hi David, oh gosh yes the giant puppets are an absolute work of art. The work that goes into creating evil reflects the actual work it takes to have evil characteristics re telling lies, being manipulative etc. And all that evil can then be burnt away very quickly on diwali in order to see the light. This was the most mesmerising, fascinating and unique diwali celebration that i have ever been to. And iv been to a fair few!!! Oh gosh yes people do pay good money for a beach view like that. I was only thinking about that yesterday. I'm so lucky as my rent is only 6 quid a night Inc bills, and each day i live how the rich people live lol. I did research on how natural spaces such as beaches were for those who were poor, to do their fishing work, take their baths, dry off their clothes etc on the land. And to some extent that is still the case in India. And those days have lasted far longer than the days of tourists being on the beach and paying a fortune for it. Whilst the poorer people have it all the time. Nature will never discriminate between the rich and the poor. Anyways David, how was your weekend? ❤

@travellingyoginikas I dare say there probably was Kas,although I didn't personally see any near me,but there must have been some somewhere. I don't think fireworks are as popular as they used to be when I was growing up, think nowadays there aren't as many displays, looking back it was a terrific night bonfire night, fireworks, treacle toffee, parkin cske 😋❤

​@@davidmarshall5596oh gosh yes David I remember those massive bonfires, all those displays and food trucks. It really was one big celebration. Nowadays there's too much health and safety regulations in the UK lol 😂 so it's not as much fun for the kids nowadays.
