I don't understand why people say, the "real" voice, like the other one is "fake" haha they are ALL REAL, she uses different places to resonate and position the voice, she has the hability and the training to do it, and she is actually brilliant at it. If you hear the stems from her songs, the recordings have minimum production its just her voice that you can hear clearly, whith many layers of amazingly placed harmonies, some of them made by herself, some by other artists. The nasal position is usually used in pop, just listen to MJ or Justin Bieber, everyone does it, it gives it a fun, light sound and allows for fast response to runs, plus a great control of the rythm. The difference in her, is that she managed to achieve the nasal sound with an extremely disctinctive tone plus a solid control of the tempos, rythm, perfect delivery in strength and softness when needed, AND could access to emotionality to generate empathy siminghly easily, that's really THE GIFT, not because of anything, she's the greates POP artist of our generation, and has become a living legend. All of this in studio, of course, on stage, she included acting and dancing her shoes off... Listen closely!

Ok here is reality. Yeah Jive ruined her to an extent, a major one but an extent nonetheless. She started losing vocal power and range at puberty, then between 15-16 (or whatever before signing ) her voice changed over time , and settled into that of contralto. Additionally, from a young age she had horrible technique. She pushed from her throat and still does , that’s what everyone swears is her incredible voice trying to cut through, then comes Jive , counterproductive vocal techniques, unlearning healthy use of the muscles and voice overall . Including pushing her vocal folds and cords beyond belief. Then smoking. She was not destined to be a powerful vocalist no matter what. Jive took what limited mezzo ability she had, but the majority of it all is the human body at work

It's not live it's pre-recorded I know this because I did stage hand back in her early days. And I did a little wardrobe it very tricky how it's done. I'll just say I don't know EVERYTHING but alot of the big shows were pre-recorded.

Shes original and she had unique voice makes her trade mark! A total performer! Now a days we can say lots of powerfull voices but its sounds like thier copy paste. She used to sing live and I thought it was pretty good, at 1st, then she had her HBO Special and on "I'm not girl" she ran into major trouble, in almost every way... That was the last time I heard her sing live on stage.
