Thank you for the info, very helpful. I am planning on joining the Air Force and want to go back to school using the HPSP program, I currently have a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration but I want to get my PhD in Psychiatry, do they offer scholarships for Psy Med? And Would it be better to signup for active duty and then apply for HPSP or sign up for the reserves (which I prefer not to do) but just curious. Idk why I thought the military had their own private med schools😅, didn’t realize it was strictly a scholarship program, but everything you mention is really great info and I definitely think it’s worth the service time in return.
Hello! Thanks for watching my video! To my knowledge, I do not think HPSP covers PhD Programs. It is for medical school (MD or DO degrees). So if you wanted to go to medical school become a physician then complete residency to become a psychiatrist that would fit under HPSP. There may be similar scholarship programs or educational pathways for other health professions like PA/NP/RN but I am not sure.
@ thank you 😊
Should bootcamp , pathoma and uworld enough for step 1 ?
Hi! I would think so! Then if you need more resources you can always find free videos or YT channels that explain specific topics !
Cool thanks
did you guys have to jump out of a plane or fly or anything?!😅
Haha no we didn’t!!
i have a question... is bootcamp enough for pathology or should I refer to pathoma as well?
Hi! Thanks for your comment! I did not use pathoma or bootcamp very much for pathology. But from what I do know pathoma is more comprehensive so if you need more foundation I would suggest starting with pathoma vs if you need just review perhaps starting with bootcamp will be good enough!
Hi! I'm looking to apply for the DPMS program this upcoming year. I was wondering if you had any insight on the application process, in which what traits would make you a strong candidate? I have read the review on SDN and the website itself; however, I would love to hear your take. Also, I'm also went to NC school for undergrad! So, I love that connection there. <3 I know it's been a while, but I remain sorry for your loss. I know that D9 sororities and frats are really close. I almost forgot - would you mind telling us more about the cost of the program, and how you navigated the cost of a SMP?
Thanks so much for your comments! Hmm its been a while since I applied but from what I remember it was a straightforward application process, the essay is always challenging but I would say have several people proofread your essay and offer suggestions for improvement. Other then that for the interview (I believe there was an interview) be honest and be yourself, be comfortable with discussing any challenges you may have faced in your journey and how the program can help you be successful at reaching your goals. For cost, the program was about 60k for the year and traditionally these post bac programs are fairly expensive. I took out loans to cover the cost of my program year. But perhaps now they may offer scholarships or other ways to subsidize the cost. If cost is a concern and your primary reason for the program is academic enhancement, I would also consider taking advanced science courses via a community college or enroll as a non degree seeking student at a university and take a few courses to boost your GPA. This is what I did after DPMS, and this way your out of pocket cost is considerably cheaper plus allows more flexibility to work and do other things too. I hope this is helpful. Feel free to email me if you have additional questions at alsoarc@gmail.com
This is Air Force OTS in Maxwell?
❤awesome tips. I will get business cards once I’m a medical student then once I graduate.
Thanks!! Glad it was helpful, please share 😊
All the videos ive seen of ots seem so laid back, its interesting to see another side of entry level training.
Yep keep in mind we are only allowed to record certain parts of the training! So the more social fun times are typically what’s shown🙂
Thank you!
welcome!
would you say bootcamp is good enough for someone with NO base knowledge?
Hey! I wouldn’t think so. I think the content is comprehensive but I feel it would be challenging to retain much if you are using it to learn for the first time.
Hi I’m also starting bootcamp 3 weeks from my exam. How much did it help you going into your exam? I’m not sure if it’s too late for it to make an impact if I solely rely on it? Was it that similar concepts appeared on the real deal/or it made you approach questions better?
This is so helpful, thank you!
Exelente Video, felizidades por aprender hablar Español, just keep practicing every day, bye bye, see you.
Which videos are helpful medschool bootcamp for renal vs Usmle rx express videos for renal? I am really confused which one to choose any help is appreciated
Hey I didn’t use USMLE RX at all, so I can’t offer an opinion there! But I did like med school boot camp for renal or i would just use other RUclips videos for quick explanations !
nice video. what are opportunities for a family physician in Alaska? I am interested. Thank you.
A flight of...twelve. As a second lieutenant about forty years ago, commanded a flight of eighty, and knew second lieutenants in other places who commanded flights of many more. Looks like everyone had fun, my best to these doctors and nurses.
Thank you so much for your comment! And thanks for your service as well.
I'm waiting for my score. And I'm really nervous since that was diffrent whith all my assessments But that's a relief to hear that you had same feelings after exam and you passed.❤
you got tour result
Hey ! Congratulations on being done, that’s a major hurdle! I hope for the best for you when scores arrive 😊
@TheAlsoArchives fortunately I'm passed😊
Did you use bootcamp only or with BNB and Uworld and FA ?
I used all the above including sketchy amboss and physeo. I mainly used Bootcamp to re-teach myself difficult concepts.
Thanks for the video! It helped answer a few questions I had.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
How hard is it to get intelligence officer?
Not quite sure! That’s a different process than what I went through !
congratulations 🎉🎉could you possibly share you later nbme scores? would be really helpful
Thanks! I scored low 60s on all of my nbmes except the last very last one the weekend before my test I got a 70.
@@TheAlsoArchives thanks a lot and good luck on the rest of your journey
Can I reach out to you for some advice? Im a current DPMS student and would love to learn and interact with you. Confused about doing Military Scholarships or not!
Hey! Absolutely. My email is alsoarc@gmail.com
Outstanding !! BLACK EXCELLANCE❤❤
Do they have videos pls ? Like just watching them the way it is on BnB ? Thank you
Hi! Yes they have tons videos to watch on their website! bootcamp.com/med-school. Also they have an app too. Be sure do subscribe to my channel!
I started using it for our PSP anatomy class and it is so helpful! I'll definitely recommend it to my future classmates.
Yes! It’s honestly one of the best resources out right now ! 🤗
HPSP from COT 06-05. I don’t regret a single second of my time - I went into emergency medicine, and still love it.
This is so encouraging to hear! I am really looking forward to where my career takes me in the years to come.
Thank you for sharing your advice on medical school admissions and interviews! I have a MMI with University of Arizona Phoenix Medical School tomorrow, so I appreciate your help! I wish you the best of luck with your medical career!
Oh yay!! I wish you all the very best! Thank you so much! Please let me know if you have any questions at all! If you see me on campus today say hi 🥰
Thank you for this video I have submitted my application and waiting to hear back. How long did it take to hear back after you submitted your application ?
Hi, if I remember correctly, I think it took me about a month or 2 to hear a response! thanks for watching, please subscribe to my channel!
I love them! I use them & they simplify a lot of concepts
Yes I loved them too! They do a great job of making things make sense lol.

Thank you so much!!! Girl really that’s the true question. Yeah and the exam is VERY different than UWORLD or NBMES. And yeah it’s a balance for sure ! You got it 😊

Is the DPMS program can be taken online?
It wasn’t offered online at the time when I was enrolled!
@@TheAlsoArchives I appreciate you responding, mean a lot. I did a little research and this program is strictly on-site, which I can agree on. I opted to enroll in the Post Bacc-Medical Flex 1 yr program, works better for me. There are so many alternatives out there so the choices are a range of possibilities. Takes a little time, but I will get their. Thank you for sharing your story!
Hey! Were you enrolled in a 1-5 week course or a 3 month course? Or did yours take longer?
I had the 5 week course abbreviated course
Great video! Can i ask how the mcat worked in the DPMS? Do they give you like 3 weeks or something while taking the classes? Or do you finish all the classes then take the mcat after all that? How much time do they give you to study?
Thank you! At the time I did the program we were taking MCAT prep courses each week along with our DPMS curriculum. There were set times when we had to take practice exams. So MCAT studying was mixed in with class studying. Everyone had a different study plan but for me I took winter break which was about 4 weeks and studied from 6am-6pm every day, with one day off a week. Then I took the MCAT in January.
@@TheAlsoArchives Nice! Also, would it be easier or harder to maintain a 3.2 gpa if someone needs to take the mcat? By taking the mcat, there’s less classes to worry about right? Otherwise if the mcat had met the requirements, you’d need to take more upper level classes right ?
Do they not make you shave your hair for ots? It doesn’t look like any of the guys had to cut their hair off here.
I al not too sure about the requirements for the guys! I don’t remember seeing any guys with longer hair though
Quick question! Can you kindly tell me the 8-week program you did. I am currently trying to strength myself.
There are a ton of free programs you can find online. I don’t remember the one exactly! But basically I ran 2 miles every day and did increasing numbers of push-ups each day !
Awesome video regarding OTS! I’m a prior enlisted Sailor. Looking to go Army WOFT or Air Force OTS, eyeing the Pilot option for both. Maybe, I’ll also consider becoming either a Navigator or ABM in the Air Force. Looking to submit my packets for both, although I gotta take the AFOQT for the 2nd time. Thanks for this!
I am so glad we have a different way of making Soldiers
This video was super informative, thank you! I'm a non-trad strongly considering DPMS after trying a DIY postbacc at community colleges/state schools. It's definitely an option but it's way harder than I anticipated while working. 2 things for anyone else figuring this out: 1) If you try to just take classes as a non-degree seeking student, some schools will charge you more. A workaround is to apply to matriculate into the school for a second bachelors or a masters program, take whatever classes you need and then you can withdraw from the program. That also gives you access to financial aid, which you don't generally have if not degree-seeking. 2) If you already have a science degree, the upper level classes that would look more impressive for a DIY postbacc usually have prereqs sort of specific to that school. Make a really solid plan way ahead of time so that you know how many classes you plan on taking and how much it will cost.
I’ve been doing transports for about 9 months I hate my job I wish I quit a long time ago I’ve been running around like an idiot😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hello Shanon, am glad I found this video I am interested in HPSP program. Do you have any advice and what I can do to make the application process smooth? Do you have TikTok or Ig for more questions? I will appreciate your advice. Thank you
Sure my IG is @docalso. My best advice would be to reach out to current students and hear their perspectives on the program (like you are already doing!) and find a recruiter that can help answer more of the logistical questions along the way. The application process is somewhat tedious so you have to stay on top of things to get it done ! I would love to answer any specific questions you may have! Also my email is alsoarc@gmail.com
Que buen español. No tienes el acento gringo. Felicitaciones
Hello, I am a nurse in Brazil in a few months I will get my green card to work in the USA, I wanted to know with the GC can I be a military nurse in the Air Force?
You need a citizenship
To be an officer, you will need to be a U.S. citizen, but you could be an enlisted nurse with a green card.
@@bobafett_8922 I didn't know I could be an enlisted nurse, I thought only officer.
@francisconeto390 The closest thing to that would be aerospace medical service. I could be wrong, but that's something that may interest you.
