Always wonderful hearing the young ones in the congregation! Signs of a growing parish.
Last Sunday was the third Sunday since my 9 and 10 year old children were baptized and my wife was received into the Church by chrismation. During the communion prayers I stepped out into the narthex to light one of their baptismal candles to light the others with while doing my best to recite the prayer from memory. When I came back to my family, I lit their candles with them and noticed a bright white, flat, rectangular light on the alter. I thought someone placed an LED strip there or something. It was similar to the light a phone flashlight gives off only with the whiteness of the corona during a total solar eclipse. I thought it would be really weird for someone to leave electronics on the altar, but while I was praying and staring at this light, which didn't hurt to look at or leave any afterimage, the deacon stepped in front of it for several moments. When he stepped away the light was gone but I could see the chalice clearly sitting where the light had been with a red cloth covering it. Realizing now what I had witnessed (no one else seemed to notice) I started looking for explanations. Was it a reflection? I don't think the base of the chalice is that reflective. And there are no bright lights inside the church. The base of the chalice is also rounded and engraved. "Was it a demonic deception?", I thought. But I don't think any demon would be allowed to enter the church or could ever be able to withstand being so near to Christ. Then I began to accept this as a miracle. And I realized, the Eucharist is a miracle every single time. Why was this made visible to me and not my family or anyone standing near us? I believe it is because my faith is weak. I'm naturally very skeptical. God revealed this to me to help my unbelief. I still haven't been able to speak to my priest about this. And I've only spoken to my children about it. I'm not sure this is something I'm allowed to share. Doxa to Theo. Thank you for sharing this sermon. It appeared randomly on my recommendations and I felt conpelled to listen. I no longer believe in coincidences. God is amazing. Glory to God. ☦️
More people need to hear this.
Can anyone confirm Fr Heers has a bishop?
What does that have to do with this video? His Bishop is Bishop Luke of Jordanville.
@@NoeticInsight Because everyone knows he didn’t have affiliation with ROCOR Or Constantinople for awhile. So, if Fr Paul and Fr Josiah and other clergy are affiliating and supporting I found it questionable and want to know if anyone knows for certain. This is the duty of every person who claims to be Orthodox and especially with children. We don’t blindly trust clergy or bishops. They have rules to follow. So, that’s what it has to do with it.
@@mythologicalmyth He was always with Bishop Luke. He literally teaches at Jordanville seminary, he has this whole time during this whole ordeal. I disagree with Fr. Peter on a few things, I believe he can be far too much of a Rigorist on a few matters. But to say he didn’t have affiliation with ROCOR “for a while” is nonsense and slander. Don’t believe all the nonsense people tried to spew about him online. He’s been with Bishop Luke at Jordanville Seminary the whole time.
@@NoeticInsight He does not teach there. The canonical assembly letter regarding Heers disagrees with you. You calling him a 'RIgorist' is slander. What's nonsense is your rigorist rules for slander dont apply to you. You say Im slandering because he actually has been denied by ROCOR and the Greek. So, you were no help. You have emotional statements with no proof. Thats all anyone has about him, emotions. On I go waiting to hear if he has canonicity or not. I wont lose sleep.I was and am only curious. Ciao now!
@@NoeticInsight As for HTMJ I cant get an answer if he is faculty or not or just an occasional presenter. Doesnt matter to me. What matters is that someone claims him or he is not canonical priest; and yes, that is a matter to me. As for believing nonsense, why should I believe you? You accused hi of being "far too much of a Rigorist..." Really sounds like you value your opinion over the Holy Orthodox Canon. Sounds a bit Protestantesque. Alright then. You really dont know and have no proof. Im done. Thanks for the replies.
Thank you Father Paul. Attention and dedication. It is work. Lord have mercy on me
I'm 15 years old and ive recently come to Orthodox Christianity from Anglicanism. I'm greatly struggling with anxiety about politics, war, climate change, and, most of all, the End Times. I have insufferable anxiety about being martyred and being killed by the antichrist. I fear that my adult life will never be met with a husband, family, and a lovely life, but I will instead fall away from the faith and go to Hell. If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it. I struggle with finding people to talk to, as friends my age don't care about God. God bless, and thank you.
Wow I’m 18 and I’m going through the same thing as you are I have been a orthodox Christian for a bit now and I can honestly say I haven’t seen much but I have felt the lord Jesus strongly these past few days Elizabeth I understand completely what your going through and yes it’s very very hard to grasp at times like these but one thing I will tell you and that thing is to pray, pray to God tell him what’s on your mind be honest with not only yourself but with God;after all he is God he knows what’s on your mind before you open your mouth. I’ve been praying a lot lately and let me tell you I have seen results if you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour and you believe in God with all that you have in you there’s nothing that can hurt you from that moment on because you are Gods child. I pray that the Father Son and Holy Spirit bless you in all that your going through God bless and fear not.☦️
Many of the “end times prophecies” came to pass, most around 70AD. Many of the end times theories and rapture theories were created by Protestants who have done a terrible job re-interpreting the scriptures, believing they were written for right now. Not the case. I highly encourage you to speak with your priest regarding the book of the apocalypse, and watch some of Jay Dyer’s content on it.
Hey Elizabeth, here's a bit of advice: tell God your fears. Get down, take a few deep breaths, tell the Lord EXACTLY what you're feeling and thinking, let it all out, have no shame because Christ our God LOVES YOU more than you could comprehend. All eternity will not be enough for us to understand the depth of Jesus' love for us! So let it all out, He can take it. He already knows, but you need to tell him so that once you have that off your chest you can start receiving His aid. Tell Him what bothers you and ask for His help, according to your own heart. Then, let it be. Do not look for supernatural signs (those are deception), do not look to see and probe just how God is helping you, just let it be. When you have your worrying thoughts, say "Jesus, please do with them as you please, I trust in you." Don't try to make the thoughts go away, just focus your mind on something else, something at hand, something useful (something for someone you love). And things will get better. But you have to trust Him! God bless you and strengthen you! With love, D
amazing i had this question a lot and i found out that its heaven and earth , practicing nepsis and prayer to purify the nous thats heaven and earth at the same time and the holy eucharist is also heaven and earth man and GOD meet in church
I needed this
Amen Father. Amen! Very timely message for me. Thank you.
Very good message for inner peace
God bless you dear father Paul. God bless your soul. Greetings to you and all of you our brothers and sisters there, in Christ, from Orthodox Serbia.
Mark my words.. This men has brought more people to orthodoxy then i could imagine.. I believe he will be a remembered for all time a true Saint of the church militant..
Thank you
not the orthodox church.
Bless you, Father
Please keep recording these sermons 🙏🏻 beautiful thank you
Truly He is risen! Beautiful sermon, Father! Thank you, it touched me deeply (no pun intended). I needed to hear this!
Thank you, FrP
Truly He has Risen
Incredibly encouraging ❤🙏🏼
Thank you God for leading me to this video after a lot of anxiety and pain today. I prayed for you to lead me to what i need. And you followed through immediately.
God bless your soul. Greetings to you our sister in Christ, from Orthodox Serbia.
@Ohrid2023 God bless you as well. So nice to be greeted from family in places I never knew. I didn't know there was Orthodoxy in Serbia. 🥰 Greetings from the South (of North America)
Beautiful sermon, I can't get enough of them.
Amen, this was very beautifully said and humbling.
Amen
This guy made a pro wrestling reference, that is awesome.
What's the context behind the story from 5:30?
I think I get it, he's just a super chill guy, but he follows what you're supposed to do so we just listen to him and ask him questions? This is my first orthodox sermon and it reminds me of the imams in bangladesh or my imams in america, he's just our teacher/guidance who's relatable. If anyone sees this and is orthodox please let me know how it feels to you guys, super interested in this.
I find it hard to follow with the crying of the children in the background. I think it would be proper to take them outside until they calm down out of respect for the priest and the people present. Though what I think might not be important. Parents all over the world seem to have become unable to be respectful just because they have a child or two.
I do not know the actual answer, but in my opinion those kids are just life, when you go to a local orthodox church i assume its just being with your community. Kids need to be there (i am not orthodox)
Dear father, thank you for your homilies. They are really helpful. I am a greek orthodox monk and my Elder has a channel where we upload his homilies. His name is Elder Nikon, a disciple of Elder Ephraim of Arizona. If you want watch the homily: The life after life 😊 ruclips.net/video/oU9RQpidNn4/видео.htmlsi=SAlExOFPwcQkJqTL God Bless you and protect you always, father Porphyrios a monk.
Loving these, thank you! Was #2 posted and I missed it?
Feeling increasingly drawn to the Saints, martyrs and confessors of Romania. Just finished "The Saint of the Prisons" about the life of Valeriu Gafencu. Wow. Also read and enjoyed "Eternity in the Moment" about the life of Arsenie Papacioc. So much richness from the Romanian people. My first encounter with Orthodoxy was in Romania as an Evangelical missionary back in the early 2000s. I entered the Orthodox Church just over 10 years ago and haven't looked back.
God bless you sir
I was told by Archimandrite Ephrem Lash that, when venerating the icon of Christ before Holy Communion, if you are too late when the chalice appears from the altar, not to go from that point to venerate the icon before receiving Holy Communion because Christ is there before us in the Mystery and should be our only focus.
🙏🏿☦️
Beautiful
I love that you can hear children in the background 🙏 great message
Thanks be to God for inspiring this Father to give this talk. I so needed to hear this, and this will be a tremendous help concerning my personal struggles with particular issues within the Faith.
Fantastic message. This has really changed my view about prayer. Even when it’s terrible, it’s amazing.
Father articulated it so well. We are still part of the spirit of the age if we speak harshly or critically or sarcastically. We should remember everyone is in the Image of God. Let us not just pray for people separately or out of spite, but with kind words and genuine attitude that can learn and see things from a new angle, which includes us listening to them and asking what they think and why - if we really want people to open their minds to God.
Positive thoughts. Amen.
Thank you, Fr. Paul, for your words. All I can say is, Lord have mercy on me a sinner. I definitely felt called out in your homily, and for that I am eternally grateful. I pray that God helps me shine forth light that attracts others to the Faith.
This hit home. God has spoken to me. Thank you, Father.
Let today be the day to wholeheartedly give all of ourselves to God so that we may truly begin to feed His sheep….
Excellent message Father.
Building a church on the foundation of defense of the truth and the true faith isn't right? "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds" -2 Corinthians 11:13-15
So this priest is basically saying that the faithful and the Church shouldn't "rail agianst" anything? If that was true we would not have the councils. If that was true many great confessor saints would be wrong for their defense of the faith. We should always "rail against" sin and heresy. PERIOD.
A Good Lenten Arena to you, Reverend Father, and to your flock ☦️⚓❤️
❤❤❤❤
Amen
I no longer have any faith at all.
Why do you say this?
You ok?
Bro don’t quit ,you got this man keep going keep up the good fight of faith 🛡️⚔️
