@@McPerferct thanks for watching. Speaker choice is really a personal thing. Different brands (and models within the brand) all have different acoustics and some may sound “better” to you than others. And your choice may be different to someone else’s. Best suggestion is to go to a few shops and have a listen to some speakers to find the “sound” that works for you. Personally, I like the Infinity Reference series. As for amp/sub combo, if you have space behind the seat for a full size box, you will have lots of options. Then the choice is style of box, being sealed or ported (with a hole or without). Both styles suit different music. My way of explaining it is this…. Rock based music suits sealed, R’n’B suits vented. If you like everything, it is harder to choose. Ignore the MAX or PEAK numbers and look at RMS. Again. Different brands and models within the brand will sound different. If you opt for a vented box, get one that is built to spec to suit the subwoofer you choose. Sealed is not so critical.

@@InstallersAssistantthank you for your reply, as for the standard infotainment system does it have low pass for an amp or do I require a high pass amp?

@@McPerferct It does not have any filters HP/LP built in. It outputs full range (ignoring the factory preset eq) to all four outputs (Front and Rear). When we add a subwoofer amp, we typically use the Front Left output, and the Rear Right output. Strange? yeah, but this way, the balance and fader still provide an output from the Line converter you use. Make sure either the line converter OR the subwoofer amp, has a control knob. Without it, you will most likely find that at low volumes, you have too much bass, and at higher volumes, not enough. If you are amplifying the front speakers, then just use the front speaker outputs.

Not sure if you'll know but thought I would ask. My stock system (as shown in the video) has a damaged screen. I can get a whole compatible & operational unit from a breakers yard, the breakers yard advised me it would need coding to my vehicle. I contacted my local Nissan garage who told me it's not as simple as just swapping one from one vehicle to another and they may just try to use the screen part from the one I bought. Would a Nissan dealer not be able to replace the whole unit with the one I bought and sort the coding?

Thanks for the enquiry. I have not swapped like for like in these as all my clients have simply replaced with a better unit. That said, I would remove your existing one (as in the video), take the vehicle to the wrecker and ask to plug in one of theirs. If it works, buy it. If not, no harm no foul. Logically you could have just the screen changed, but you would be paying someone to disassemble both units. Let me know if the swap-over works. Good luck
