Guild Wars 2: The Lost Quaggans of Bitterfrost Frontier
@semilegendarytreks
SORROW AND LOSS will always be part of life. While battling the hostile climes of Bitterfrost Frontier I was made painfully aware of this truth. The Durmand Priory had sent me to study the history of the kodan sanctuaries, but premade plans where upended by more urgent matters.
The subject of the many notes I took during my travels were indeed of sorrow and loss, but also pride and identity. After all, the result of any journey is more than a mere change of scenery.
One will always face oneself at the end.

Guild Wars 2: A Wanderer's Chronicle of Gendarran Fields

@semilegendarytreks THIS IS MY LOVE LETTER to Gendarran Fields - a chronicle of places, people, and events as encountered during a full day’s journey. One day, when Tyria has disappeared into the Mists for all eternity, I hope my account will remain as a memorial of days great and incomparable. I set out from Vigil Keep with a reminder that freedom has its price - and concluded my trek with the...

    Another masterwork!! I don't regret a second spent on your videos as they're always so beautiful :) I love the incorporation of NPC voice lines in this video. You chose the right lines and made sure that the voices didn't overshadow the music. And the music choice was on spot as always, I love the track when we delved into deep water and when we bid farewell to the quaggan. Bitterfrost Frontier has some of the most magical places in Tyria. The forest was one of them, and I adore that shot of the canopy from the ground. Another shot that left me a deep impression was when we delved into the deep, that shot from underwater with the ice layer growing distant from sight was simply amazing. The part when we slowly walked into the small cave of the Bitter Cold with light disappearing behind was cool too. On the story... I remembered the lost quaggan quest to be a cut part of the main plot in A Crack in the Ice. Nevertheless it is intriguing in the lore it talks about, and you managed to make it emotional as well. The quaggans are usually seen as these cute creature with nothing else, but this quest tells us that they can also be brave and adventurous, and they can understand sacrifice too. It also made me wonder, will we one day see Semi's trek through Metrica Province and learn more about our adventurer's backstory? On a last note, I'm curious about the various "tricks" you used. Was the ghost quaggan's aura Bifrost's rainbow? I noticed the ghost quaggan appearing near Joyless Fall in the video, where did that ghost effect came from?

      Hi! Don't worry about writing too long comments, it's amazing to learn of the impressions. Yeah, quaggans are a bit misunderstood I think. They have wisdom in their generally pacifistic outlook but that also generates tragedy aa they tend to give way rather than stand and fight... The ghost effect came from munching a Strawberry Ghost. The aura comes from wearing the Prismatic Champion's Regalia amulet. And yes, there will be more on the backstory and a visit to Metrica. Thank you so much for your interest in what I do! It makes it all the more meaningful ❤

    Thank you all who support my channel by subscribing, commenting and hitting that like button. You're simply the best <3 Spend a month in Bitterfrost Frontier and you will grow to love it! Admittedly, it was a challenging map to make a video out of for a number of reasons. Even though it's quite small, the dynamics of the day and night cycle required some planning in order to get the right shots at the right time. And the ice storms drove me nuts! Not making it easier for myself, I decided early on that I would love to make a video where presenting the various locations I visited was interwoven with the Quirky Quaggan Quest (I love quaggans) as well as a developing personal story. The project turned out to be rather emotional and time consuming, but I think it all came together nicely in the end. I hope you will enjoy the result. See you in Tyria! /Semilegendary

    Greetings, friends old and new! It’s been a while now since this video was published and I’m glad it's appreciated as much as it is in spite of it admittedly being a, well… rudimentary first attempt. Chapters are now added to make the trek easier to follow. The recording process was (and still is btw) learning by doing with camerasettings, angles, transitions, editing and whatnot. A rewarding experience in itself, it is also a part of my efforts to combat personal stress issues, which is still one major reason to why I keep making these videos. I also love playing the game, of course! If watching my videos help YOU to slow down, relax and seize the day it’s all the better. Take care out there, and I’ll see you in Tyria!

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) Yes, it's important to give credit and certain shots that I want to do require the assistance of a second player. Killing off mobs is something I've done myself up to this point, even though I try to plan my treks so so as to avoid the need for it if possible. Needless to say there are areas that probably are too difficult to do alone, so when I credit someone for "Mob control" then you'll know I got help ;)
