Sadly, no. I used Kesha's instrumental to create this track, so it's not technically a cover. In order to post this on Spotify, I would need direct permission from her label. And since the changes I made to the lyrics of the song are not satirical of the piece itself, it's also not technically a parody so I would have to get permission from the label for that as well. Lol I'm really glad you enjoy it, though! Have you heard the original?

Thank you for your linguistic/dialectical breakdown! 😆 I deliberated over how I would sing Cotton for a while. In speaking, I would actually say it more like "Co*-nn" where the asterisk is a glottal stop and the second sylable is pure consonent. But I think I decided on a more open vowel because I was trying to sound more forward resonant and I didn't like how closed off and quiet the NN sounded in the middle of a melody that spends an equal amount of time on both syllables (which, now that I think about it, is probably the opposite of what you should do for a seductive pop song) and I probably pronounced the "td" because the glottal stop with the open vowels suddenly sounded British to me. Lol You might also be interested to know I considered opening the last vowel of candy to a Justin Timberlake "its gonna be maaaaay" because of how strident the eeee was sounding... but I decided it wasn't authentic to my dialect and kept the pure ee sound.

Hmmm.... perhaps because the second verse deals with societal pressure and identity? Octavia, despite her family trauma, is an upper class princess. We never see her get laughed at for being different or be forced to hide her emotions. That fits Fizz's story a bit more.
