Seems odd that Alan didn't know that Kevin had created a new Grid with his program. Why not use Yori too? There really wouldn't have been a good reason to keep this from them. He told Sam about it when he was 10. 😆You would think Sam would have told Alan after Kevin disappeared too. I really like Legacy but the plot has serious issues including Clu's plan to invade the real world. There's no way an army of digital beings could just appear without actual matter to recreate their physical forms.

Also an interesting note. It's somewhere in the screenplay notes, but the reason Tron couldn't take down Clu despite his skill (and the reason nobody else could ever directly threaten Clu or harm him) is Clu essentially had "god mode". Clu was system administrator under Flynn. He was technically more durable than Flynn himself - Clu was immune to the "kill code" in weapons, as well as being physically immune to damage from outside forces. Flynn, in his recklessness, didn't want anything to happen to his personal representative in the Grid. And never considered it could make Clu an immortal tyrant. Only Flynn's reintegration command was capable of harming (or decompiling) Clu.

It was always a nice touch that Clu asked Flynn one more time. One has to wonder if Clu would have stood down if Flynn had answered "no". He might have been angry yes, full of rage. But Clu was following his instructions to the bitter end. Even as he convinced himself Flynn had been "corrupted", Clu wanted to correctly perform his role. And don't forget when they met again, Clu could not bring himself to kill Flynn. Even after all that time and resentment.

CLU: "Am I still to create the perfect system?" Flynn: "Yeah... and you have! Look around you CLU. We've built a digital utopia, a world with infinite potential, with conditions perfect enough that sentient life itself was able to manifest entirely on its own. That bizarre "yeah.. ?" bit reminds of the end of Caligula where he's asked the password to get through his guard to the palace. Caligula being Caligula says "scrotum" with a smile on his face to troll him. The guard just says SO BE IT, takes out his sword and kills him and his entire family. Both scenes are unintentionally hilarious.
