I am sad that I got Ragnar with Svea out now - I understand Svea has a citadel - but having the torps and smoke seems like a huge + Ragnar has been fun, I do play it with the silly range build, idk how people speed juke with a Ragnar at ~12km without speed boost up, even with a full build into it, it's like ~80 seconds of boost x3 times. (numbers may be off slightly) I gotta see some vids on Svea but still, feels a bit bad

Good insight on Ragnar. I recently got it and was surprised he cant gun down dds early in game besides the fact that often in randoms, team won't focus dd when you radar him.

The groz is a better gun boat than delny and groz is supposed to be the "torp boat"

That Rupprecht... I did a stat lookup. I love when these players talk so confidently, He is also a "DD main" with it being his least played surface class. Good video and congrats on the windows activation!

That Rupprecht is everything i hate about wows player base, to busy playing with their eyes closed and brain turned off that you cant even have a conversation with them because they think whatever they say is the only right answer and you can never be right or their whole world will fall apart.

Thanks, Ragnar will be my first steel ship, just waiting for the coupon to drop. I'm a DD main and are usually in the Gdansk (Swirzki), do reasonably well in ranked and CBs, but get absolutely fucked in randoms with any aggressive play. What can the Gdansk do that the Ragnar can't and vice versa? My build is like yours except I have GtG instead of CS. Gdansk turrets too slow to turn.

I personally only really see ragnars either permafarming or using rpf and hunting destroyers

Since you said that Ragnar's primary contribution is to farm BBs in the opening stages of the match, I was wondering if Svea is better in your opinion, as she basically has Ragnar's AFT built-in and better DPM. I'm really close to getting one of the two and need to make a choice, I've heard Ragnar is boring and Svea seems more interesting. Cheers, -Lghdl

Isn’t the effective dpm actually high compared to the other gunboats considering the godlike accuracy (hitting all shells consistently) and high HE penetration? Sure, lightly armored targets are getting eaten alive by a Marceau or whatever but with Ragnar you get these chunky on any target.

Gonna be grabbing this then definitely. Another ship for clans is always a plus!!!

“Piece of shit" seems to sum it up, yeah one of the few tech dds I don't have and am only going to get to be a completist so it can sit in my port and I'll never play it. I can only imagine when it came out it wasn't 'as' shit but the fact you extremely rarely see this in a game more or less speaks for itself. I just don't see why Wargaiming want to keep releasing ships (which is good don't get me wrong) when they could just make the ships that no one plays at least semi-playable.

Im a WOWS legends player, have never played the PC version, but you are so informative and your opinions and perspectives are so objective that its hard not to listen, learn and also enjoy your gameplay. Cheers 🍻

Yeah, Bazan is strong now. But, the reason they are still buffing it really is just the average server stats. If you look at WR, or even DMG done somehow, Bazan is at the very bottom of the pile. How? How are people still doing so badly in it? I don't know. There are just some mysteries in the universe that will never be solved, I guess. The best explanation I can give is that coal DDs are not played by good players, but quite the opposite. Coal DDs seem to be picked mostly by people who are brain damaged BB mains who have never played a DD in their life, already have gotten all the BBs for coal as well, so now they think it's a good time to try their hand at DD game play - and what easier way to do that than to buy a T10 DD for coal? That's why all the coal DDs have terrible stats, even the OP ones like Sherman or Marceau. Khaba actually has the highest WR, and that's probably because a lot of DD mains got it when it was still tech tree and still play it.

Honestly if they'd oops copy pasted the Tashkent to T10 straight up it'd be better than 'Khab at Home' since the 3x3 launchers reload so much faster and can catch people off guard.

I tried it when it came out, I really tried it. but you have too little influence on the outcome of a round with that boat and more players seem to be drawing that conclusion Of the t10 DDs, Delny is one of the least played. only 133k games on the european server only three DDs have been played less the fairly limited available ships AL Shimakaze, Kléber CLR, and the new french Cassard Delny probably needs a buff to get more play

Delny is literally just the Tashkent but given some armor. And its not like Tashkent is anything crazy at Tier 9

Yeh the destroyers were about the only class types that the soviet navy actually built and were pretty effective but the soviet dds in game are about the only Soviet class that WG very effectively fked up really unironically ironic lol

I agree with a lot of things, but then it's all the stranger to hear that the ship has "shit HE DPM". First of all, are we in a world where 198k is shit now? Even if so, it's still the 11th best out of 27 (at T10). But that's not the whole story, because you are also running FB, and most other DDs won't. If you were to compare the DPM to, let's say, Daring, then Daring (with MBAAS), has 261k, while Lushun has 250k. Hardly a world shattering difference. In the real world, unless you show Daring angle for AP, you win that fight. Also, since you mention Vampire... yes, Vampire (again, with MBAAS) has 293k DPM - so much more - but most of them run the smoke duration module instead of the aim module. If you measure the resulting DPM in the real world, the kill times on a DD are very similar (with the Vampire being some 3% better, not 30%, or 300% better like you playfully exaggerate - surely - in the video)! Why do I mention this? Because thinking it's bad and not making use of it, deprives you of one of the best things about the ship - countering other DDs. Lushun is a very strong DD, but it's not strong because it can farm at 15km with good arcs and never die because of the heal. Other DDs can do that and it doesn't win you games anyway. No, what makes the Lushun good is that it can forcefully find and kill other DDs instantly (and also then farm). You have the conceal, the hydro, so there is no smoke, no escape. There are some DDs that outgun you, but basically all of those you outspot massively. The rest you beat 1v1. And even if you only beat them barely, the beauty of it is that (unless there is a CV), you just go back and heal it all back. The trick is just judging their amount of support correctly.
