LOOK OUT SCOTCH: Trying Westland's American Single Malt! | BetterAvecBourbon
Welcome back to BetterAvecBourbon! Today we’ll be trying a bottle of a whiskey type that's rising in prominence: the American Single Malt. Specifically, Westland American Oaks, American Single Malt Whiskey. In this video, I look to answer what is an American Single Malt, how does it differ from Scotch, and whether I’d recommend this bottle or American Single Malt more generally. Start by getting a bottle, your favourite tasting glass (preferably a Glencairn), and let's explore a new frontier of whiskey.

Espresso Martini Delivery: Vodka and Bourbon Variations | Modern Classics | BetterAvecBourbon
Просмотров 18021 час назад
Fall is finally here, and that means espresso martini season is here in full force. To celebrate fall, we’ll be making the espresso martini two ways: the traditional, equal ingredient listed on the back of the Kahlua bottle, and a bourbon riff penned by yours truly. Besides a coffee liqueur, vodka, and bourbon, you’ll also need fresh espresso and my tool of choice will be a Bialetti or a moka p...
Master the Manhattan | Classic Cocktails | BetterAvecBourbon

Welcome back to betteravecbourbon, today we’re making the classic cocktail: the manhattan! A rewarding, 3 ingredient cocktail with with the colour of a black cherry thanks to the vermouth. I call it a 3:2:1 cocktail because of the recipe structure: Recipe: - 2 ounces rye (1 1/2 if higher proof) - 1 ounce sweet vermouth - 3 dashes angostura bitters
Let’s Make the French Daiquiri | BetterAvecBourbon

Welcome back to BetterAvecBourbon! Today we’ll be making a sweet stunning cocktail, the French Daiquiri. Unlike with the French martini, the chambord here doesn’t make it purple but instead you get an apricot-like colour. It’s great so let’s make it. Recipe - 2 ounces gold / slightly aged column still rum - 3/4 ounce of Chambord - 1/2 ounce of lime - 1 ounce pineapple juice - Garnish with a pin...

Welcome back to BetterAvecBourbon! Today we’ll be making a tiki classic: the Jungle Bird! A cocktail I came across in the Smuggler’s Cove recipe book. It’s a vibrant orange, thanks to a combination of Campari and pineapple juice. A pineapple frond with a curved straw gives it the perfect vibe for a summer afternoon. Recipe - 1 1/2 ounces black blended rum - 3/4 ounce Campari - 1/2 ounce lime ju...

Recipes Blue Lagoon - 1 ounce vodka - 1 ounce blue curacao - 4 ounces lemonade (1 part lemon juice, 1 part simple syrup, 2 parts water) Sparkling Blue Lagoon - 1 ounce vodka - 1 ounce blue curacao - 4 ounces sparkling lemonade
Scotch Whisky Highball: Mixed Drinks Vol. 2 | Mixed Drinks | BetterAvecBourbon
Просмотров 742Месяц назад
Today we have another mixed drinks feature: the Scotch highball. There’s two main variations of the scotch highball: the original pairing soda water with scotch, and the more modern variation combining scotch with ginger beer or ginger ale depending on how prevalent you want the scotch or the ginger to be. Once you’ve got your favourite high balls glasses and mixers, let's get to it.

How to Make an OLD FASHIONED 3 Ways | BetterAvecBourbon
I enjoy American single malts. In fact I like all spirits from tequila to scotch yes some can be eeh but there are so many that are fantastic. The legacy brands are trying to catch up with the craft distillers so I don’t mind the up charge. The boys across the pond have been doing it for a very long time so can actually do it cheaper and have increased production but America is trying.
@@umami0247 I definitely appreciate the effort and I like having variety. As popularity increases hopefully we see more tiers but Westland’s is a pretty impressive bottle. Tequila seems to have a cost problem as well: very stark difference in quality from the entry level stuff verses something like Cazcanes.
I will need to give this a try!
@@DanaDuff definitely worth experimenting with!
will have to give this one a try!! also, the music is perf 👏🏾
@@khadijahplummerconsulting thank you! It’s a very interesting malt

Love espresso with rum or recently this version Drambuie Espresso Martini 1 Oz (30ml) Drambuie 1 Oz (30ml) Scotch Whisky 2 Oz (60ml) Strong Espresso 1 Barspoon (5ml) Vanilla Syrup (Optional)
@@stephane.foisy.186 ooo, I love an excuse to use Drambuie. Cheers!
I love a classic espresso martini, but that bourbon based version with walnut bitters looks incredible. Speaking of which, where did you find your walnut bitters?
@@brentcoleman384 the bourbon version is excellent. I got these through the cocktail emporium! They carry a lot of Fee Brothers and bitters more generally
I’ll be trying both for sure!
@@ashleycoleman3562 let me know how you like them!
I think I’d have to try both. They look delicious!! Love the music too!
@@GayleColeman-f6q yes they both are delicious in their own way! Thanks for watching 😊
House favourite here!
Not a big cocktail drinker I'm a diabetic and these are all just to sweet and I will never drink diet anything. But knowing how to make decent cocktails is great for guest. Enjoy!!
@@umami0247 I wonder if you could try a dirty martini? It would be mostly the calories of the vodka as the olive brine would be negligible. Cheers!
🔥🔥🔥
I love the ruby red colour of the drink as much as the garnish, yum! Thanks for the pro tip on the vermouth 👌🏼
That looks yummy!! Love the piano music too!!
@@GayleColeman-f6q agreed! It’s quite soothing for an elegant looking cocktail 🍸
Though not still as relevant the ratio of 2-1-2 is the area code for Manhattan which made it easy to remember a few decades ago. I love the drink and when I make it at home I build in glass with ice. The first few sips are potent and the last few diluted but that is fine for me to unwinded a long evening. Great Video!!
@@stephane.foisy.186 that’s a great rhythm and way to remember! I’ll have to try building it in a glass: I do it all the time with old fashioned’s so why not!
Been eying this one to try. Does look great. I knew this was bugging me, I recently made and post Le Frog which is Islay Scotch french martini. Also great.
@@stephane.foisy.186 that also sounds excellent! I’ll have to give it a shot. I really like the French Daiquiri: the original can be a little plain so it’s nice to have riffs.
Beautifully presented cocktail and video! Looking forward to more
@@grisha3266 thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
hello friend, you've got potential, but here's a few pointers (from a regular viewer, I don't have any knowledge of videomaking whatsoever, but I'm a viewer I guess?) - the background music is way too loud, drowning your voice - the channel intro? I guess? in the middle of the video, with a different music. It was way too loud and out of place - the acoustic of your mic is a bit off, dunno if its the mic or the room youre recording in anyway not a bad video could be a lot better tho gl on your endeavors
@@hfontana thanks for the feedback and for watching! The acoustic of the mic is definitely something I’ve been playing with.
