When Costello had a hit with this in the middle of the punk era when all " hippy" was mocked such as " Peace love and understanding as thier flag I was very glad to hear this song as an answer,
This is awful …..typical Americans. This song written by Nick Lowe was never intended to be a Jolly Up but treated with genuine sincerity not this pumped up awful crap we’ve got here
Oh, are you beautiful people who saw this I can’t imagine I’ve seen like answer 765 I think I think if I had seen this, I would’ve been a complete spiritual, emotional worldly awakening. I would love to be able to get my hands on a complete DVD, or whatever this entire performance that’s just amazing. This is just amazing life and hope and happiness.
Holy smokes I can’t freaking believe that I’m 65 I’ve seen a lot of concerts. I’ve seen Bruce Springsteen twice and seen all sorts of people that that that is just freaking amazing what a life blood lyrically musically, spiritually socially integrated with the amazing thank you thank you thank you.
Okay, just a few comments. Max Weinberg is "the glue guy" to use Coach Self's term. Probably the best drummer in Rock n Roll. One of the best songs ever.
Nick Lowe put it out as the B side of the single "American Squirm" with Elvis Costello on vocals and a band part-Rockpile, part-Attractions. Another winner from Basher.
Excellent performance by a bunch of legends...and Dave Matthews.
Best rendition is Elvis Costello! By MILES!
What a party!!!!
I never expected to hear Bruce Springsteen singing "What's So Funny...." with John Fogerty and so many others so surprising. Fun stuff.
Oh, dear.
Simply one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written.
It's got my vote... But this version is not as good as Elvis Costello or Nick Lowe.. This ones got way too much stuff going on.
The utmost mockery of the song writer's intentions. They really don't get it.
Just extraordinary - what a bunch of talent. Can anyone tell me what the event was
That was the „Vote for a change Tour“ in 2004.
BadAss! I had to throw water on my monitor.
Besides form Bruce Springsteen and hwat's his name from the Sopranos- who are the rest of the Performers and Singers?
Being a quaker I understand the song, and I like it when other people do too
Somebody get the hook for Dave Matthews. FFS.
And once again, the whole performance is driven and perfected by Max Weinberg's masterful drumming
Man, Dave Matthews just doesn’t have the chops to keep up
June 2024 and we need to vote Democrat up and down the ticket come this November.
Kul att du tycker om den. Den kan vi alla dela på!

Thank God John Kerry, hypocrite that he is, didn't win!
He would have been an awesome president! The worst would be a better place if he had won.
Who's the balding introvert that sang the 2nd verse? Wow this is a pathetic performance...
What a lineup!
Awful reading such simple lyrics on a big stage , oh so heart felt !
Half of them sounded like they'd never heard this classic.
Mike Mills on bass!
This is AMAZING.

Or, as I should have said, Bruce and ensemble.
Bruce certainly does this great song credit.

Curious as to whom the lady in the green blazer playing guitar is?
And Mad Max banging then drums. Top drawer, top drawer indeed
I think it would have been better with just The Boss.
Take a bow, Nick Lowe!
That was the wonderful rally for the unsuccessful room for Bob Kerry for President.
This must have been one of the proudest moments in Nick's career.
Bruce may be The Boss, but The Jesus Of Cool he is not.
Ooh, it's the fat little dixie chick!
Trust me there is only hatred and misery
Geénial! que du beaumonde!
I always thought, from the Attractions' version, that Springsteen would be able to sink his teeth into this one. I was right! Brilliant cover.
Great song, great performance. I don't care for the cause!
Always Vote!
Mad Max on the greatest drum riff in rock history. Aaahhhh....
Who is the guy with the t shirt with a star on it?
My goodness. I skipped school in 1977 to listen to My Aim Is True. Probably my favorite record of all time.
Okay, just a few comments. Max Weinberg is "the glue guy" to use Coach Self's term. Probably the best drummer in Rock n Roll. One of the best songs ever.
Nothing beats Costello's rendition of this on the Letterman show. But this comes close. ruclips.net/video/eJ1ZQ99pKbY/видео.html
One of the greatest pop songs of all time, sung by at least 3 of the greatest performers of all time. What's not to like?
And I thought I couldn't love this song any more than I already did. So grateful to be wrong.
Nick Lowe wrote this brilliant song. Yet Elvis Costello put it on the map!
Nick Lowe put it out as the B side of the single "American Squirm" with Elvis Costello on vocals and a band part-Rockpile, part-Attractions. Another winner from Basher.
