Out of many things, one thing that stood out for me was to think and prepare for scenarios beforehand by going through JD. I remember being asked in one of the interviews about what had been my most difficult project so far and how I had delivered in that project. I was not prepared to reply to such question and ended up giving a suboptimal answer which did not impress the interviewers.

Has anyone read Atomic Habits by James Clear? It is one of the best selling books on habits. I was amazed to know that the content for this book came from a collection of personal observations and experiences that the author used to note down in his personal diary. So, recording your thoughts and ideas can be very powerful.

I hate employers dictating terms, deciding my income, working hours, and asking me to be flexible as per their requirements. Hence, I've decided to enter the market with my own skill sets and strategies and meet them there.

You are right. Though I am not an experienced person, sometimes it feels daunting when I follow a very big tech person. I sometimes wonder if I will be able to reach that level. I think it's better to follow someone at a medium level, but those people are difficult to find.

Hey Shermeen, there was a video clip that went viral on LinkedIn a couple of years ago. It was about a young south Asian woman software engineer talking about her fickle employer, and that there would always be jobs for software developers. You remind me so much of her. Was it you in that video?

Important points I noted: • Try to reach out to people to share their work experience and be genuinely interested in it • Start something new to come out of your comfort zone • Narrow down your focus to particular types of job • Consider the interview as a free-flowing conversation • Answer the scenario-based questions by relating to your past experience • Be confident during the interview

This video really resonates with me. I left my full-time job a year ago to join a startup, and now I am working as a freelancer while continuously applying for jobs abroad. Despite my efforts, I'm not getting any responses, and it's been quite challenging. It's comforting to know that I am not alone in this struggle. Thank you for sharing this perspective.

I am from Tamil Nadu. I got placed in dubai company through oncampus with a package of 46k. But after 20 days in the trainee period, i can't able to do the work as i m totally depressed and down. So i quit yesterday. I don't know what to do next that i spend 30k for my flight expenses😢😢. My parents are worrying.

Despite applying to several companies with referrals, I haven't received any callbacks, whether for interviews or rejection emails. My confidence in getting a job is decreasing, and sometimes I even question if I am fit for the IT industry. However, your video has given me a bit of hope, so thank you for that!

I'm going through a similar situation. I got laid off from my job over half a year ago and can't find any significant income now. On top of that, I don't know what I want to do, really. And it is stressful to watch your funds get nullified while you are getting in debt. And still, I don't really want to go back to what I used to do for work. Struggling between doing what I have to do and what I think I possibly could do. I agree that we need to keep trying new ways, learn new skills, and not give up.

I got placed last year August through college campus, and till this day Im on bench, didn’t earn a single penny and although I have more than enough knowledge in my field as a fresher but the job market is so tough that it seems impossible to land a job…….. Once you start working again begin immediately investing in index funds so by the time your 40 you can do whatever you want. Im 42 but have so much in index funds now i make as much from those now as i do my full time job so its like getting two full time salaries per year. Additionally the income i get from my investments is taxed at only 15 percent.

Hi there! I'm so thankful the algorithm suggested your video to me. I was at a very toxic job. I also had sleepless nights, mental breakdowns, even suicidal thoughts. But I couldn't leave since I have kids, and solely my husband's salary wouldn't be enough for us to live without a struggle. We are a family of immigrants, so we're counting only on each other. My boss was diminishing any achievements and progress I made and was very picky. She wanted me out, but never wanted to do it on good legal terms so she tried to made it look like a disciplinary firing. And though I was shocked and confused as I was a hardworker, that gave me a great opportunity to wake up, stand up for myself and start a new career I wanted to try for years. I am starting in September, and I will have my summer to enjoy and recover. Sending you vibes of love and support.
