some VERY helpful tips for me! Adding a powered sub soon, so I really needed those wire colors. May or may not need the remote blue wire connection to the fuse panel idea too. I am going with beatsonic inline sub too. Such a big job getting this stereo up to par with my last car. Thanks for showing the fuses too!

I did this with our Subaru Outback. Nice red Hella Supertones behind the grill. Big mistake! They were exposed to all that crap coming through the grill. Rusted an dies. Put them in a place that is out of the weather…especially the winter road crap…salt and slush.

Is there a predrilled hole in the firewall to run your wire for the light switch panel? Or did you have to make a hole in the firewall? Great video of explaining everything. I did this on my 4Runner and yes it is so much easier with the battery in the front. Now that I have an LC , I need to do this. Thanks!

How are you liking the stinger 10 box? You can still get it, but with the white stitching subs, and not the nice carbon look your box has at the face baffles

The notch or groove should face down because the plastic nubs sticking out of the roof are not perfectly round, hence the extra material removed from the aluminum bracket…

I have a question. That black plastic flap with the rubber front edge at the top of the title picture with the cables lying on it. Where is the rubber edge supposed to fit when you put the bumper on? I tried taking pictures beforehand, but the angle was too weird to see how it is supposed to fit when the bumper is installed. This is driving me crazy, I've had the bumper off twice now trying to make this thing fit properly. Thanks in advance for the help!

You may have made a few easily correctable mistakes in this vid at roughly the 39:36 timestamp regarding tapping the fusebox...one, IF the fuse tap is oriented properly (and you have it backwards to make it fit...check the current flow with a voltmeter to determine "direction" of current flow. For modern Subarus, I'm pretty sure current in the interior fuse box flows from the right side of the fuse to the left side...check this) you can run the 7.5 amp back in one spot that feeds the cars existing electronics, and the 15 amp to feed the accessory...so one of those fuses should be replaced. Additionally, orientation and current flow matters with that fuse holder, and I'm pretty sure you installed it backwards to make it fit. That means current draws through both fuses...first one, then the other. That could blow some VERY expensive electronics in your vehicle if there is ever a problem as you now are using a 15 amp fuse instead of a 7.5 amp for the vehicle original electronics. So, you have dramatically weakened protection for the vehicle and the amp. You can google information on the orientation of the type of fuse tap you used. An example of an install where someone made their own split harness that would fit in that small space that allowed the use of the proper rated fuses for both the car and an accessory can be seen here on reddit for a WRX with a very similar fusebox to the Crosstrek www.reddit.com/r/WRX/comments/191uytc/fuse_taps_for_2022_and_2023_wrx_models_may_not Also, it should not be so hard to insert those fuses...was that possibly the wrong dimension of fuse or tap (or both)?
