The girl who is meant to haunt this place was murdered, but not by her father. She was murdered by her Grandparents. She was dumb and deaf and suffered from extreme autism. She was a very difficult child to manage and look after as she was unruly and very prone to fits of rage. Her parents owned the Hotel during the Victorian gold rush. Her mother deserted the family and ran off with a miner. Her father then sent for his parents to help look after this little girl. One day he had to take a trip to Melbourne and was gone for a few weeks. It was during his absence that the grandparents threw her down a well which were near the stables. The well did not have much water in it and she did not immediately drown. Some say she finally died after a long and horrible death. The Grandparents were charged with murder. Should you ever go to this hotel if you look up on the upstairs floor a woman was also murdered there by her husband when he caught her with a miner. She is also meant to haunt the place. I have know ever owner there since 1981 and all have a similar story. The bedrooms are all upstairs and often you will hear noises coming from the main bar. When you walk towards the stairs to investigate what is happening down stairs you will feel a very cold breeze just before you are slapped on your back or pushed down the stairs. This has been a consistent theme of all the owners over the last 43 years.

i scanned this hall .. on a virtual tour job recently .. and the nearby "business centre".. in this hall when i scanned in the corner the scan kept jumping to the middle of the room to the DOOR .. which was open with the light .. .. this was i felt definitely some activity .. that place is horrifying .. i had to work there all day .. did the hall .. upstairs AND downstairs.. with the old shop thing at the bottom .. insanely spooky place..

Very KOOL !!! I've only seen one other old house like that where there orbs seemed to be coming mostly from the ceiling of an old Victorian home. Sometimes if you can enlarge an ORB you can see a face or something in it.
