Cancer VLOG - What Remission is Really Like
Today is my first cancerversary! On May 7th, 2020, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 22. I had surgery on May 11th, 2020 to remove the germ cell tumor along with my right ovary and fallopian tube. I did not undergo any further treatment and was pronounced in remission on July 23rd, 2020. However, getting the NED (no evidence of disease) label doesn't make cancer go away forever. Many doctors visits come afterwards along with the baggage we carry from this experience - including guilt, shame, sadness, anger, confusion, anxiety, and many other emotions. If you are wondering what to expect from remission or what it is like for a cancer survivor after treatment, you've come to the ri...

My Ovarian Cancer Story - UPDATE and Q&A
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
Welcome back, or welcome, whichever greeting fits you. I was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer (immature teratoma) on May 7th, 2020 just when I thought life during COVID-19 couldn’t get any worse. There were so many amazing questions left in the comments of my original video that I just had to answer for everyone. So here is an update for the ~4 people who were curious. This video wa...
Day in the Life of a U Chicago Grad Student During COVID-19

To preface this, the video you are watching now was filmed the day before I was diagnosed with cancer... lol. So, that would bring this video to be 6 months old. I was thinking of scrapping this video altogether, but I decided that I worked hard to film it through the pain and edit it while I was recovering from surgery. Plus, my grad student routine during quarantine is pretty much the exact s...
My Ovarian Cancer Story at age 22 during COVID-19

I'm a 22 year old girl with an extremely rare form of ovarian cancer - germ cell tumor, immature teratoma, grade 3, stage 1A. I'm an anomaly, but am yet another womxn that was in pain and normalized it. I am sharing my story to help other womxn gain the courage to get the doctors to listen. We should not have to live in pain.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. ❤ I pray that you are well and living out each day grateful and stronger than ever!
Hi Catherine, I know this was posted 3 years back.. as I am going through this now.. while searching i saw this video.. I hope you are doing all good..
Hi! I'm thinking of doing a quick upload since I've seen a few comments such as this one. Short story short - everything has been totally fine since my surgery over 4 years ago! I just surpassed 4 years in remission last month. Hope this gives you some optimism moving forward!
@@CatherineSaoud Thank you so much for your reply, Catherine! I'm truly happy to hear that you’re doing well, and congratulations on surpassing four years in remission-that’s such an incredible milestone. I'm new to all of this, having been diagnosed just four months ago, and you can probably imagine the thoughts racing through my mind. If you're comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear more about how life has been for you after cancer. Does everything feel normal now? How have you adjusted, and how are your follow-up sessions going? Your message definitely brings optimism as I move forward, and I really appreciate it.
Can i ask what your ca125 results please? ❤
Your not alone this is hope
Finally, someone who isn't a complete pessimistic atheist who only believes in "science" and likes to judge others who believe in religion. I'm especially looking at both Joe Plater (thyroid cancer) and Dario Darias (pancreatic cancer). I'm so glad you are the finally nice and optimistic person who both believes in faith and science to help you through your journey, and you seem so open and kind to those around you, which I can respect big time. I'm just so happy that we still have great people that while in a big struggle are not giving up and are hopeful for the future
I have heavy periods with big clots for more than a year , i have anemia because of it , and i have a cyst3cm and half doctor is sayin it is normal ! Im having pain in my lower abdomen and pelvic aera almost all the time 💔
Hello everyone. I have been diagnosed with endometrium cancer stage 3. Underwent a hysterectomy. Have my first chemo scheduled on 17th. Need your prayers.
I get you girl, I’m 22 and had a cyst and horrid pain 3 months ago and got told it would be gone in 3 months, had a re-scan and it’s enlarged and become a solid mass, got a gynaecology appointment in October🙄 no one has told me its not cancer🙄 and it’s so worrying, just glad you pushed to get an answer xx
Is she cancer free?
Why an uid at 22, women get cancer due to STDs ! Ovarian cancer related with chlamydia and hpv. If u have sex a man can reinfect u, and u will get a reocurrence. Only girls that are sustain rape victims, or start sex early with infected older man get ginecological cancer that young. If u stop the sex, maybe u will get no more reocurrence. Anal cancer it's also an std, hpv. Men can carry hpv it doesn't affect them , because men body its very plain, not designed to create life. Women body very interconnected, sex its not good for women. Men thar. Want sex from you are your enemies. They can want to serve you, ur company, but never sex. Take care pretty girl. Say NO.
Are you ok my dear. There has been no update since 3 years back
God this has being happening to me and am so scared right now, I have t eaten today all day 😢
This post is from 3 years ago 😢 I hope you made it through, young, lovely lady ❤
Hi! I've seen a few comments of this nature, and just wanted to share I am doing wonderful (still in remission)! Thank you!
I’ve been experiencing the same exact symptoms for 3 months now. The doctors have not been taking me seriously since everything is coming back normal. Sigh. I can feel nodules on my right pelvic region now that are painful when pressed on. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.
Quick question. I was curious if during the ultra sound if they pushed for the blood “Doppler” to see about blood flow on cyst? Did you have anything pop for blood flow.
So happy you are doing well❤. Thankful you made this video, makes us not feel so alone. Your vid’s are so good at covering all your experiences. Again super thankful.
Wow. Wow. Kudos for advocating for yourself! You have no idea how incredible this video has been. I wish all doctors and staff would be open and honest about their findings. Your video with the details about the type grade 3 level 1 (fully contained) is so key for so many women! I’m preparing for 1 oophrectomy due to non straightforward cyst. I’ve got more info from this than what med staff has shared or “med web” - describing how most cyst are normal - despite the number of questions like you describe. Too many women for too long in the medical field have not been taken seriously and as a result - cysts like this are likely underreported vs being “rare” 😢
So happy to hear you were persistent, you are right, be your own advocate ! God bless you and prayers for future good health

Wow....,I went through the very exact thing....also said it was big as a football...was extremely painful...and same kind of tumor either hair teeth skin etc....do I understand what it was like....
Are you keeping IUD now? Or on estrogen inhibitors?
Thank you so much for sharing! You are a brave and inspiring young woman. God Bless🙏🏽
Hello. Im actually going through these same symptoms, its interesting how you say if fees like "sore muscles" becuase thats exactly how i described it to the doctor. They did a pap smere and told me i had a lot of discharge as well and said i have a UTI, have extreme bloating and now bathroom issues. They found a complex cyst with septaion and have to go back in 6wks for follow up. Im extremley nervous becuase i have been feeling like this for a few months now. Ca125 was normal, came back at 11. But now i "feel" something there when i bend over and my left pelvis is hurting even more now.
A teratoma is almost like a fetus. Wonder if removing it would be considered and abortion and made illegal in certain states.
I am 66 years old. For 4 months I was told that it was IBS. I have ovarian cancer. They really don’t want to deal with us.😊
Wishing you health. Eat right. Pray. Doctors seem to have no intention to be real doctors anymore :(
My tumor ended up being 30 cm when they took it out.
Hey there... my mom had a grapefruit size teratoma with bone marrow hair and TEETH! back on the late 90s and they sent it to john Hopkins and never came back. Best testimony layout well spoke. Thank you for your testimony and sharing! ❤
Oh my god. This sounds so similar to me so far. I started having severe pain August 2022. After visiting the walk in clinic multiple times I was told I had a UTI... I knew that wasn't right. Next day went to the ER, doctor said my intestines are inflamed and it looks like diverticulitis or chrones disease. I had to wait SIX months to have a colonoscopy... came back all negative... after 7 months of severe pain (traveled to my knees as well), it magically went away... but would come back every month before my period started (periods also subsided for a couple months during this). About 2 weeks ago I had my second period in a month... so I contacted a doctor again. I had an ultrasound this weekend (15 months have passed now mind you), and they found a cyst and solid mass (small 4cm) on the painful side and a small cyst on the other side. I am waiting for my appt with gyno now. I swear women need to look out for themselves.
Your a grifter or dead
Is she still in remission?? Are there side effects ?
Hi there, and yes! I'm still in remission!
🙏❤🙏
Why did you take a vaccine made in 9 months u less you wanted to die? It makes no sense. All vaccines must have 20 years period. Everyone with a brain knows this
Yes its time to tell this young people, they dont have it in mind . So the future Generation has to lern about the great criminal trial!!!!!

May Allah give you speedy recovery.... But I am more concerned about your hereafter than this world because being Muslim I believe this life is temporary today or tomorrow we all will die and the life of hereafter is eternal ... I suggest you to prepare for your hereafter.... You and me we all are gonna meet our creator after death... He will definitely ask us what we do with our lives, he will ask us about our deeds.... I wanna you to be in paradise.. Work for it... That is the ultimate success... Please your creator before your death

FYI She's fine. She's like the rest. She just stopped posting videos. Gets a fan base who feels like family or friends & doesn't come back. Her boyfriend posted something about her 2 days ago.
Thank you!
I find very cruel when people come on RUclips to talk about their cancer journey then they just go away without any update . I get it that they don’t owe anyone an explanation , but due to the nature of the channel they should at least let viewers know they are alive and well . Some of the people watching this videos are going through a cancer journey of their own and would appreciate to know the outcome
@@Araksi_Nyou are right!!! They should be know when someone knows you have cancer, you become like a family member for him, he can have a lot of bad thinking if it’s don’t hear you for long time!!
Good for you. Thanks for sharing your story. I’m always amazed how brave people are about telling their story. 👍🏻 Be well, Catherine.
It was challenging and unbearable because of how critical my health situation was. but I am grateful and happy to have ordered Dr Aluda herbal supplements on RUclips which I used and it shrunk my multiple fibroids💯💯
It's spelled "woman".
Always one of your type lurking in comment section.
Thank you for sharing your story.. happy you are in your way to recovery.. God bless you 🙏🏻
Im really glad I watched this video :(
Yes, dealing with symptoms, that seem to line up with ovarian cancer, but my doctor is pushing me away, but I know something is happening, even if it's not cancer or if it is. I JUST NEED TO KNOW😭😭😭😭😭I have Kaiser and they are horrible now a days, no one cares or listens right now. So i pushed toss at for an ultrasound!!!
This vlog was absolutely amazing and perfectly well put together. Way to go and keep fighting. I absolutely needed to see this because I'm going through something similar but for possible cervical cancer
Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster.. Bring it up to your doctor,. unit 3 was MOX fuel fallout.. plutonium,,,
Wow - that is such great news that you have caught it early but yes, the waiting to see if your clear over the next rest of your life but you are on top of it so fingers crossed
I hope & pray you have received a good outcome & are in remission. You are such a brave woman to let us know all your medical information- I am going through this same roundabout atm - your information gives me more medical info to tell the doctor as I now have demanded (calmly BUT FIRMLY), that I see an oncologist. Thank you again for your very informative video. Kind regards
I’m confused. I’ve never been prescribed an antibiotic for a yeast infection. It’s a fungus so you need an anti fungal and they sell those over the counter now.
